I wanna see a version of this where there's no rubber banding. Like, I get WHY they did it - but imagine the fear factor of like... going to Misty, and knowing that dax is slowly but surely going to catch up
Yeah, I think making him be right behind you no matter what makes the run get a bit samey, and as we've seen borderline impossible at times if you want 100%. Plus, makes it so the distance and speed counters become redundant very quick.
@@sebc255 Maybe an easier mode could cap his rubberbanding speed. Right now he almost seems to reach equilibrium in constant time, which makes gaining distance a bit meaningless. In contrast, removing rubberbanding completely would make him a non-threat.
@@PoldovicoI’m gonna assume in play testing they still found that capping the rubber banding speed would still be too easy. Seems like a really fidgety and difficult thing to get precise (especially with the goat Jak speedrunner). There’s not that much overlap going between places either so it’s difficult to just randomly run into Daxter again.
@@apollog7764 That's why I mentioned it could be an easier mode for us non-Josh plebians :P I'm imagining a fairly high cap, or even just a lower curve, simply so it's actually possible to gain like a couple seconds from distance.
This has to be my favorite mod for this game. You have to get so creative to beat demon daxter. They should tone it down a bit since he's seriously strong.
so the way i see this mod it reminds me of Dark Rayman from the 2D games of his series where the dark rayman clone would copy your movement path ya touch him ya dead
I wonder if the speedruns for this mod would be faster or slower than vanilla... On the one hand you can't do tricks that keep you in place for a few seconds, but on the other hand intentional deaths are always easily at hand.

Josh died like 150 times on JUST Gnawing Lurkers and Dark Eco Crystals. This mod is insane.
they need to make the rubber banding radius bigger. any time you gained any distance he immediately caught up.
Can't believe bro ate 30 sour candies for every 10 deaths, now do it again but every 20 deaths is an onion bite
