I was in Cape Town last February. One of my best trips ever! The garden route, the safaris and the wine country are second to none! My second visit in 14 years. I hope South Africans can come together to deal with its many challenges. It has so much potential! Just got back from Costa Rica and it has its challenges as does the whole world. I’m looking forward to my next visit to South Africa. Ubuntu!

Nice to have stumbled on your blog. I am planning to visit South Africa for the first time. Capetown is definitely one of the cities I would love to visit. I'm also looking for a city outside the United States to make my second home after 20 years of service.
Cape Town is really your only choice. You will also find it to be exceptional compared to the rest of the world's cities; some rating business recently put it 2nd to New York for liveability. But, as a Capetonian, I couldn't imagine living in New York/concrete jungle!
Thanks so much for such a helpful video! My partner and I are digital nomads and we're keen to come to Cape Town. The only thing that puts us off is concerns around safety... any advice around that is welcome! Thank you! 😊

😂You know Claire has been in Southeast Asia for a long time when she wakes up and blurts out "kopiiii" for coffee. Love the compact, loft style apartment. Feels nice and airy with the tall ceilings and the details are very sleek and modern, looks like a luxury hotel room. I have a loft in Manhattan and pay very little for it, which allows me to travel a lot. Gives me peace of mind not overpaying for a huge apartment with lots of junk in it. Especially when I am paying for travel and hotels abroad and away most of the time.
Hi from Las Vegas. I haven't checked your video library, but could you please make a video about how to lease a used vehicle there? Also, where do people sell used cars (Facebook marketplace, Craigslist, OfferUp)? Lastly, how do you rent a unit long-term at Neighbourgood? Do they have a leasing office & website? Thanks.
I'm a digital nomad from Zimbabwe and I currently stay in the Philippines. Montenegro in Eastern Europe and Colombia in South America are the other digital nomad friendly countries I've found to be welcoming for a Zimbabwean. A few years ago I stayed in George Western Cape, Garden Route close to Capetown, its actually where I first went to as a digital nomad. But it was very difficult for me as a Zimbabwean to get an extended visa which is ironic since I'm from a neighbouring country. Its much easier for Europeans or North Americans to stay in Capetown as digital nomads, but I can't say the same for digital nomads who have passports from fellow African countries. The tourist visa I got was limited to 2 weeks but Europeans and North American citizens get more, and can easily extend their visas. Asia Pacific, Eastern Europe, The Caribbean, or Central and South America are all more welcoming for African digital nomads than Capetown.
That’s so insane. It’s definitely ironic but also just sad in all honesty. What’s one supposed to do on a 2 week visa? We’re sorry the country isn’t more welcoming to its FELLOW Africans😭
Are you surprised? When in its history has South Africa been welcoming of fellow africans? And it's probably because they would be inundated if they were less restrictive. I've never been to Africa but Cape Town seems amazing. Clean and well developed. It's probably the best place in africa.
@@sal78sal Mauritius has the best cities in Africa, and the most scenic places. Elsewhere there's Victoria Falls, Zanzibar, Mtarazi Falls and the Eastern Highlands, The Garden Route that is in the same province as Capetown and many other places that would equally blow your mind. You should visit more places than just Capetown when you come to Africa.
Hi, so much fun watching your great videos - I'm thinking of coming to Cape Town for three months (April to end of June) - what is the monthly rental cost of the Suzuki Gemini?

The fact that Claire didn't even consider mentioning Cape Town's public transport as a viable way of transportation is sad. Couldn't keep watching after that.
Love the video, however it seems like a bubble to live in-- a gentrified one. Do you guys get to experience the culture, languages, and food of the country at all? It's strange to me that such a lush culture is turned into a commodity. Does it ever feel weird? Personally, I think adapting to a different country is more respectable.
i love you guys but why would anyone move into a city with very high crime rate? why would anyone put themselves in danger with so so so many options in the world? You have houses there with more security than Romanian prisons...
The crime is really not that bad. It’s the same as asking why people choose to live in New York City, Paris and London? Because they’re beautiful cities that deserve to be lived in. Cape Town is naturally way more beautiful than either of the cities I just mentioned, and it’s nowhere near as expensive. It’s an amazing option!🙌🏻

@@RhettandClaire Obviously, strange. Most couples want and have children and families as I do. The name of your video is "Cape Town Day in the Life."
