Watching your new and old videos I can see what a journey you did, but I can see you already had the vast knowledge back then. All the best from Poland ☺️
Oh I have to say, I just found a huge five by four mirror on the side of the road! I was planning on using the mirror for exactly that! Lol I need more windows, so this is kismit that I even watched this video from you. I am doing research on the tortum. It is another of my wishlist plants.
The tortum is very fast growing, and satisfying to watch them grow! I predict their prices should come down in no time because they are so easy to propagate and multiply
Very promising video! Unfortunately it‘s a little difficult to understand you speaking, because of the sound quality and the music being a little bit too loud. But later it gets better and i learned a lot! Thanks!!!
Congrats on your channel, very insightful videos. Would love to see an update on your tortums eventually. Just got one myself and hope it will thrive in my NYC apartment.
Could you tell me more about this mirror thing? I'm not an English native speaker and I couldn't hear and understand exactly that very particular point.
Your house is so beautiful! Ample spaces to place more plants. Love ur youtube channel. Keep the videos coming!! Rgrds from your neighbouring country, KL Malaysia
Hi Sean..... I have watched almost every one of your video and I do enjoy seeing your commitment and dedication towards your plants. I m confused why do plants thrive and grow roots when propagated in water but once grown in soil, the roots would rot should we over water them?
Thats a good question... I believe its the organic material in soil that rots the plant. But water roots and soil roots are also a little different so that may be a factor too - Roots propagated in water sometimes fail to transition into soil for this reason.
Could you do a tortum care video bc my tortum keeps giving me yellowing leaves after another even though he has an aroid soil mix (all my other philos are thriving in my soil mix) . I only water it when the soil is dry. And this is happening since I bought the tortum.
Im sure you can! Its actually hard to find in Indonesia too but if you follow the right instagram or visit the right nurseries they will become visible
You can propagate them if they have good aerial roots haha. Or let them attach to something (they are climbers) for bigger leaves. You can also cut them off if they bother you…
I couldn't find much about it online... But I have had a lot of luck using it as soil amendments. They are widely used here as cactus/succulents media.
Hello I believe I inserted some care tips in this video. Like any philodendrons, let them dry out completely between waterings. The tortum is extremely unforgiving with overwatering.
Hello! Ohh, I am sorry. I did not look video into the details. I will check it. I got my tortum 2 months ago. It already came with one unfurled leave or shooting point, but it still didnt unfurled not even a bit. I am afraid that it will fall off, even tho it is hard.. because it happened before on other plants for me (for example ficus elastica, if I touch this point it is soft, "the pocket" for the leaf is empty). What should I do? 😔 Thanks.
There should be at the end of the video. But I have actually sold many plants from this pot and currently have 2 mother plants. All starting from this one plant!
Hey Sean, it getting cold here and the lowest would be 8 Celsius. So I have got my tortum day before yesterday online and potted him, but plant is still in shock and outside, since I don’t have a green house and I’m so intimidated with the weather. Do you think I should keep the plant inside?
Oooh they are super easy! Just dont overwater them they rot easily. Maybe because they have very little leaf surface they require less water than most philodendrons.
@@onlyplants i place it on east facing window…i put it in a terracotta put so every time i c the top soil dry out i will water it…that’s make sense….maybe i overwater it…tq for the advice…
They dont require humidity. Pretty much the same care as other philodendrons. Bright indirect light and allow them to dry out completely between waterings
Ohhhhh man thank you for posting this. I have a couple questions about mine Which is currently in plant I seen you LOL. Is there a way I can DM you on Instagram?

It could be due to lack of light then. 😀
Nice
Тортум - ❤!!!
❤️❤️😀
That is so neat looking! I wonder if I can find that here in the Philippines

Hi Shaun, may i ask i have this plant, what do we do with the aerial roots?

@@onlyplants thank you Shaun
Any update to this?
Updates at the end of the video :) all the plants are alive and well
@@onlyplants I mean how they look now and their new leaf maybe. 😊
Super soaps 💯
Burnt rice husk!? That's super interesting! Haven't seen that for sale where I am (Canada).
I couldn't find much about it online... But I have had a lot of luck using it as soil amendments. They are widely used here as cactus/succulents media.
Do you have video of how to care for P. Tortum?

What's the update on there propagations,? Did they survive?

Hi Sean. Is the tortum a crawler or a climber?
Climber 😀

Best keep it indoors where its room tempersture. DM me so I can reply better since youtube does not notify if my messages were replied.
can you do a tortum care video?? I'm dying for one of these, and I think I have a source :)
Oooh they are super easy! Just dont overwater them they rot easily. Maybe because they have very little leaf surface they require less water than most philodendrons.
Love this! I've been wanting to propagate my tortum! How are your new plants coming along?
All 3 cuttings took! I have updates shown in my propagation video as well as soil video.
My tortum new leaf turning yellow and withered…check the roots still ok…soil just moist…help pls
Let them dry wayyy out between watering. Also increase light perhaps
@@onlyplants i place it on east facing window…i put it in a terracotta put so every time i c the top soil dry out i will water it…that’s make sense….maybe i overwater it…tq for the advice…
What is the care for these? I'm looking to get one but I'm afraid it requires too much humidity for my care but I don't know much about it.

fancy pants 😂
Going through your old video about tortum and i realize i may have been scammed by the seller! My tortum shoot out a syngonium like leaf 😂😂😂
Oh noooo 😅 can you ask them for a refund or exchange?
Hmm not worth the effort 😂 i guess i will let them get away this time . Maybe a bad review will do the justice 😂
Oh yes bad review is the worst thing for a business
Ohhhhh man thank you for posting this. I have a couple questions about mine Which is currently in plant I seen you LOL. Is there a way I can DM you on Instagram?
Yes please do! sorry I'm slow response here but I'm way more active on instagram @bo.tan.ist
