Dirty Potter Tip: You can also use talc or cornstarch on the gallery to keep your lid from fusing while checking the fit. Just make sure to wash the gallery after bisque firing. ;-) Great information and explained well.
Your videos are excellent. For those of us who don't have callibers, also use rulers directions and measurements for the entire process. For example, what was the inside measurement of the jar. Thanks
So, do you fire with the lid on the jar, or with the lid and jar separated? How do you fire the glazed lid without the lid fusing to... whatever it's sitting on?
How do you smooth the base of the lid without trimming? Is that after bisque or so you just run a wet sponge over the greenware once it's a little dryer
The music is distracting while you are talking, or maybe it's too loud, I don't know, just that I don't like it. One other thing is that the lid should not dry separate from the base as they will dry at different rates and then the lid will NOT FIT. Shame!
I've been a Pottery for 31 years, and I ALWAYS learn something from you !!!! God bless you 😊😊😊😊
All your videos are helping me build a better understanding of pottery and ceramics. Thank you so much!

Great video! But why did you skip the part where you actually pushed the shelf in? I wanted to see that part!
Great lid lesson D
what about the wholes you made in the end, on the lid, wouldn't let the piece brake during fireing?
Great instructional video!!
Do you still wire multiple times with added water on the wheel?
Can you put notches in the gallery with corresponding pegs on the lid to “hold” the lid? Like say with a teapot?
What happens to the holes in the lid? Do you fill them in or do they not matter? Love this video thank you so much!
I usually run them a little and they fill themselves in. They are super small
fantastic info! thank you!

Do you fire with the lid on it or separate?
On when buisque and off when glazed
