- Our prayers are how to talk to God. But when we dial up, do we speak to Jesus, the Father, or the Holy Spirit?
In today’s Ask Pastor Mark, I answer a common question with explaining how we pray to the Father, by the Son, through the Spirit.
And if you have a question you’d like answered, email it to hello@markdriscoll.org today.

Thank you Pastor for clearing up to whom I pray to. It’s comforting I’ve been doing it right all this time, just wanted reassurance. God bless you and your family. I was raised as an seventh day Adventist.
"We believe in TOOLS not rules." LOVE IT! Awesome message here!
We are told not to go contrary to what was taught by the apostles (Romans 16:17, 18/Acts 20:29-31) not to go beyond scripture (1 Corinthians 4:6) not to teach contrary to the words of Jesus (1 Timothy 6:3, 4) nor go against the testimony which God gave about Jesus. (1 John 5:9-13)
So, let’s start with God’s testimony and commandment?(Matthew 3:16, 17/John 1:29-34/Mark 9:7/1 John 3:21-23)
What were Jesus’ words?(John 3:16-21/John 4:25, 26/John 7:16/John 12:44/John 10:33-36/Psalm 82/Matthew 26:63, 64/Mark 3:35/Mark 14:61, 62/Luke 22:66-71/John 18:33-37)
What did the apostles preach about Jesus? (Matthew 16:13-17/Luke 24:18, 19/John 1: 29-34/John 1:40, 41, 45, 49/John 20:30, 31/Acts 2:22, 30, 36/Acts 3:23-26/Acts 4:8-12, 24-33/Acts 5:30, 31/Acts 7:51-56/Acts 8:5, 12, 35-37/Acts 9:20, 22/Acts 10:36-43/Acts 11:15-18, 20/Acts 13:22-39/Acts 14:15/Acts 16:30, 31/Acts 17:1-7, 23-31/Acts 18:5, 28/Acts 19:4-10/Acts 20:20, 21, 26-31/Acts 22:14-21/Acts 24:12-16, 24, 25/Acts 25:19/Acts 26:6-29/Acts 28:22-31/
1 Thessalonians 1:9, 10/2 Corinthians 1 :19/Hebrews 3:1-6
Not one of them preached or taught Jesus was God Almighty (YHWH)
As for Isaiah 9:6 (John 10:33-36/Psalm 82) Jesus being called mighty God. Which means Jesus is a king/ruler
Satan the devil is also called a God/god (no capitals in Greek) at 2 Corinthians 4:3, 4 and Jesus stated satan is the ruler of this world (John 12:31/John 14:30/John 16:11/1 John 5:19/Luke 4:6)
But neither are God
@@robertabrao7785 Jesus is God (Romans 10:13; cf. Joel 2:32).
Excellent teaching. Praise the Lord.
Jesus also taught us how to pray using the Lord's Prayer which starts by addressing "Our Father in Heaven".
Thank You, your instruction on our three part God and how to pray 🙏🏾 to them is most beneficial.
I pray to the Father I ask for it in Jesus Christ name and I worship in the spirit amen 🙏🦔🦅💯
This actually helped so much. I find myself with so many questions when beginning to work on my faith. I felt foolish looking for an answer to this because I thought it wasn’t a reasonable question. Whenever I pray, it was hard because I wasn’t completely sure of who I was praying to and how it was getting around. I want to thank you for clearing it up. This will help me a lot, believe it or not, and I’m grateful for that. Thanks for this vid and good job explaining!! ❤️👏
THANK YOU Pastor Mark! This was very clarifying for me! God bless you
Thank you for this clarity ❤️

Thank you pastor 😎
I pray to both Jesus and the father. I feel like I can have a personal relationship with Jesus because he knows what it’s like to be human.
John 5:23
"that all may honor the Son
just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him."
This is really well-answered here Thanks

Accurate 🙏🏾
How should the format be please? Start to whom and end to whom?
Great video. However Jesus said ‘ask’ for anything in my name, not ‘pray’ in my name. So this begs the question what’s the difference between praying and asking?
Any thoughts on this is appreciated! God bless and Merry Christmas.
Please help me understand this Pastor Mark, I have many family which are Muslim and Hindu, they often use the name of god, i therefore feel more comfortable saying Jesus name. I have noticed when i say God, people are comfortable, the moment i mention Jesus, people who are not saved get uncomfortable. Is this fine?
More confused than ever, but it's cool. "Oh father, who art on heaven, hallowed be thy name." I'll run with that and hope it's enough to get my ticket punched.
Zechariah 12:10 God, the farther, said, with a spirit and supplication, they will look on me the one they have pierced, and they will mourn, this is the same God in the old testament, telling us that he is Jesus Christ on the cross long before the cross, Jesus Christ and the farther are one God, Jesus Christ never said that the holy spirit and I are one, Jesus Christ created man in his image, body soul and spirit (life) as one person with a name Adam, this is the same image of God.
Marcus, Zechariah 12:10 was fulfilled by Jesus and in Acts 2:32, 33

You just simply say “in the Name Of Jesus Christ I pray” it’s not like some special power up of secret word to get your prayers answered its just what Jesus told us to do that it may bring him Glory, and Him and the Father are One so both would hear your prayer. I Hope this message Blesses you in Jesus name Amen.
Obviously if Jesus constantly referred to our Heavenly Father as God, then Jesus was subordinate to His Father!
And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
John 17:3 KJV
Functional subjection does not necessitate ontological inferiority.
Where does it say in the Bible that you can pray to the Holy spirit? If it doesnt say it in the Bible then its not okay! It does say in the Bible do not mislead Gods Children, do not preach the word of God based on ones own understaanding for he shall burn in the Pit of Fire. Its God Laws much more than rules and tools.
What minute does he say that?
