Born a Boilermaker: Pharmacy alum talks legacy and giving back

John Voliva was born a Boilermaker. The great-grandson of John A. Hook, of Hook’s Drug Store notoriety, also hails from a family with a rich pharmacy legacy in the Midwest. It only made sense for Voliva to pursue a career in pharmacy with a PharmD from Purdue’s College of Pharmacy. Now the owner of Hook’s Apothecary, Voliva is a compounding pharmacist, tireless patient-health advocate, and Purdue parent who is committed to giving back to the institution he calls home.
