He really nailed it with this one, eh? Totally agree with all the positive comments here. I discovered this after Northern Exposure sent me hunting for Banco De Gaia. Would have been 1998, living with my friends after we finished school, 18 years old. I remember it well. I’d bought the album in Virgin Records, and this track just broke over me like a wave a few nights later, on one of those nights when a few of us used to stay up late smoking in the middle of the week. Magic times, with not a thought for tomorrow. Here I am, 26 years later, married to a great girl, 2 young boys, on a weekend away in Baltimore, west Cork, with Duck, Asteroid! on. Hope my boys have similar experiences some day.
funny how you found out after banco de gaia after listening to northern exposure by sasha/john digweed. cuz at about the same time over 2 decades ago same thing happened to me. i got hooked on last train to llhasa and bought a few of their cds but somehow they never clicked to my ear... and a few months ago i put on the cds again and im telling you it was the biggest thrill ride of my life... i fell in love with banco de gaia once again ..and come to find out they have dozens of other great songs. but you have to give it a chance and be in your mature state in your life... its not for people who want instant gratification. here are a few of my favors from banco de gaia -- acquiescence 887 structure kincajou and the duck asteroid long version wimble toot (perhaps my favorite.. )
@@Dan-hd7uh Thanks for those recommendations, I don't know them, so looking forward to checking them out (except Duck Asteroid of course). I also recommend the closing sequence of tracks on Big Men Cry... Very deep, very beautiful: Gates Does Windows One Billion Miles Out Starstation Earth
This is pure magic. Few samples, few patterns, almost repetitive for 36 minutes and it will never ever get bored. I bought this album just for this one single track. If solar flare will turn off internet and my hard drive some day i am prepared to never lose this one.
yes It can bE no doubt be considered a bible, a milesztone in electronics, 33 minutes of pure delights harmonic, polyphonic, beatiful sound, with no comparison, this is truely trippy sound for chosen fews.
This is not a good track. It's not even a classic one. This track belongs to "son-if-You-don't-remember-each-and-every-second-of-this-You-know-nothing-about-music" category.
It has been 12 years but your comment is the biggest disappointment of all. I wouldn’t say anybody who enjoys that masterpiece is somehow the chosen one but man… 😂 😅shut the fuck up and gtfo to yell to your ukulele shit like you used to do mr musician 😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉
I'm still rocking this in 2027! Who else? Just me?

In the ' 90s, this track opened up the world of ambient music to me.
Banco De Gaia is pretty awesome ambient for sure, been collecting them for a while. Brian Eno opened up and created ambient for me in the 70's :)
I saw visions listening to this track , golden mountains , majestic waterfalls and magical forest etc ,etc !
this track will always remind me of my Jason, silly ginger who passed away last december
Оооо!!! Даа..! Крутяк! 😊
This stuff sounds as fresh as it did 15 years ago (when I first heard it). Truly magical stuff. Happy to find it on RUclips.
this is just a beautiful piece of music... it builds and builds and takes you on a trip... Toby Marks is a genius
Pare one!
what a mint tune.shrooms+banco=heaven
Listening this for 20 years... Magic...
Ambient techno at it's best. An aural delight.
greatest electronica ever in the history of the world. sensational.
Тот трек, который я слушаю даже в 2023 и поставил его, как в детстве на музыкальном центре, на смартфоне, как музыку для пробуждения...

@@wenys_venek Я вам отвечу. У banco de Gaia есть треки получше этого. Следующий его 2 альбома лучше и богаче на мелодии чем LTTL
had this single on vinyl for years and years... but this version just wanders so nicely
Could this be the best ambient track ever made?
Karen Huse Clifton Do you have the Last Train To Lhasa album? It's a masterpiece xx
Yes, because it is. Toby Marks is a genius, and I once won a game of Trivial Pursuit because of the sample at the end.
Yes it is!
for me this one and water drum by union jack are the best
If you like this kind of meandering ambient you will LOVE Tetsu Inoue's music. Try Organic Cloud
total magic track & A 10/10 album
Muito bom. Isso traz boas vibrações.
Last train to Lhasa..masterpiece.
thanks for uploading this piece of beauty :)
36 MINS OF PURE CHILL.....

Great album, great track, great remix. It could be a bit longer though
Am finding it difficult to find this bands output here locally - I like their sound and the creativity in rhythms as well. Nice

I Shazamed a song on the show Treme to figure out what it is and it lead me to this. So wrong. What a sleepy disappointment.
Ah well, there’s the door
