Fantastic medley of Rule Britannia and God Save the Queen. You've made a homesick Brit living in Montevideo (Uruguay) even more homesick ;-) Great video. Cheers, JG
Brilliant! I am an American but this rendition makes me very proud of my British heritage. I have always been proud but this just gives me the goosebumps to go along with it...its the kind of pride that feels as if its going to erupt from your chest! I was smiling the whole time i was watching this. Thank you for sharing!
as a U.S. Marine who served with our brother the Royal Marines that was one hell of a awesome organ player he should be hired by the Crown to play for all the British empire and its eventual rebirth as an empire
Just brilliant! I have to admit I listen to this at least once a day. This is the best arrangement and rendition of The National Anthem I've ever heard, bar none. Handel81 doesn indeed need to professionally record his works and put out a proper cd!
What a great sounding Italian organ. And yes, even in the 19th century one could often find percussions such as these on Italian organs. Great playing.
it is not, its the most widely disliked anthem of all time, even by H.M the Queen** rule brtitania wipes the floor, even land of hope * GLORY with *god save the king every time... even compared too many other anthems, god save the queen is not only slow, its flat, competly lacklustre,no passion whatsoever,...almost dead by the final lyric...** most english people,.** much prefer the stirring and passionate jerusalem, at least it bolts you too attention...more like a lightning bolt, the welsh have "land of my fathers", the french** marsellies, the russians "my homeland" each on of these is much more profound, and there are many many others...
Ya, maybe- In America we cleaned up the words and adjusted them a bit.. We call it "My Country Tis Of Thee.." I wish we could do something with Rule Britannia, it is one of my best liked nationalist anthems.. Oh, and I have no issue with tipping my hat to her Royal Majesty, either. She represents the nation which is America's foremost ally in this world.
hardly crass, get a grip... rule brittania is def a historic imperial anthem of the colonial british empire..... and yes even H.M.thinks so, more like commenwealth treasures..
Sì Alessandro, la sua creatura è magnifica!! L'avendo sentito vive in maggio che esulta tuttavia, il rejoices e canta forte e chiaro nella mia memoria. Molti ringraziamenti per la sua padronanza del mestiere magnifica! !!********** Yes Alessandro, your creature is magnificent!! Having heard it live in May it still exults, rejoices and sings loud and clear in my memory. Many thanks for your magnificent craftsmanship!!!**********
The organist really got ecstatic about this. I can imagine his wife asking him "Do you feel better now, Henry?" afterwards. Very impressive - thanks for uploading!
You missed the fact that there are two other parts of Britishness: Tea and Biscuits (I'm a Brit myself and can confirm that we do eat tea and drink biscuits sporadically)
What a joy to hear someone actually open up their organ, so many organist in this day and age just will not do it! The reaction to this is amazing! I love it!
Sei un grande!!! Regali sempre grandi emozioni coi tuoi arrangiamenti!!! Con questo stupendo organo provvisto di percussioni potresti registrare qualcosa dei maestri dell'organo operistico come Padre Davide da Bergamo o Giovanni Morandi!
What an incredible organ. Can someone tell me where it is. I have heard "The Battle of Waterloo" played on the mechanical percussion organ in Mahon, Malta but this beats everything!!
Great sound for such a relative small organ, the percussian part makes the difference, sounds very well, just 4 manuals, foot manual and percussion added. Great impact on sound. This time organ and manuals together in picture, great!
I'm glad to say I come from the generation immediately after the End of Empire so I still learnt Rule Britannia and had a more balanced view of the Empire. And on balance - and despite the Boer War and the Opium Wars (fancy addicting all China to Indian opium just to make money) - the balance was definitely positive.
If Britons would just stop apologising for being, well, BRITISH, that would be a start. The British Empire was the greatest source of good and progress the world has known since Christianity and yet it been taught to two generations of British children as something to be ashamed of. I bet most don't even know the words to "Rule Britannia" or "Land of Hope & Glory" let alone be able to sing it in school.
I doen't know the title... I heard it a time ago, ofcourse I knew that it was a British song. The chorus goes like: God bewaar ons, bewaar ons in Uw hand. Leid ons als een Vader naar Uw land. Which is something like. God protect(save) us, protect us in Thy hand. Lead us like a Father to Thy land(country/kingdom)... I guess it can be sung by protestants too ?
Why am I thinking 'Last Night of the Proms' here? You on the mighty organ in the Royal Abert Hall reducing the crowd of Hooray Henries to quivering submission! If the organ has no percussion there's usually a good orchestra for accompaniment... The finale of this peice is the audio equivalent of a canonade.
"feemeister" if you watch this vidio full screen in the middle at the far right you can make out the drum in action. Also watch the organ builders site at "alleorg" and watch his vidos "crazy organ" and "imnprovisation of percussion" you will see him hard at work installig the percussion instrumets - drums, cymbals, bell etc. Truly Alessandro has crafted a magnificent organ and who better to show it off than Luca!! Thanks to you both for sharing your wonderful artistic talent!!
They should have your arrangement in the next Promenade series of concerts at the Albert Hall in London. They already have a huge Willis organ. As for the percussion section. The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra??? "Rule Britannia" on the Last Night usually means at least two encores. Played with this fervour you could guarantee a stunned silence afterwards.
@Handel81 Is the percussion for real? Is it somehow controlled by the organ? Maybe it is digitally controlled, but are the percussion sounds for real? I have no idea how it works. Fantastic playing, Luca. It is a lust to see and hear you perform!
This will be played when the empire is restored
If you are a Brit you should be standing to attention while watching this, probably with tears in your eyes too!
I have always held Italians in high regard but can only say thank you to the Italian who came up with this! Grazie!
Two of my favourite songs..EVER.
GOD BLESS HER majesty and the Great British Empire, may it Rise Again!

No No my dear friend....This is a very pipe organ!!! Not a digital is really! the percussion is really!
as a U.S. Marine who served with our brother the Royal Marines that was one hell of a awesome organ player he should be hired by the Crown to play for all the British empire and its eventual rebirth as an empire
You want the US to become part of Britain again? You crazy, man!
You want the US to become part of Britan again? You amazing, man!
Nigel Farage George, you’re crazy. (Pun intended)
At least have the US be part of the Commonwealth.
Corgipon agreed.
This is really an amazing organ and must be great fun to play!

a beautiful medley of three of the most majestic national airs any country could wish to have.

What might be your point?
I do agree, RB and BRTW might be more "swinging", but GSTQ/K is more "binding".

Makes me proud to be British!Great medley sir!
For some reason I find myself singing "Hail, corkmaster! The master of the cork! He knows which wine goes with fish or pork!" 🤣
God save the queen and preserve the monarchy! the only part of Britishness left
+Jeshua Navaraj Thanks for the comment man every country seems to be losing it's heritage these days.
RULE BRITANNIA AND GOD SAVE THE QUEEN. Brexit is happening and Britain lives.

@@Thisisaburneraccounttheresmore because "God Save the Queen" ended up having it's tune used for "My Country 'Tis of Thee".
@@th2184_cma_. the National Anthem tune is German or Austrian I believe😉 🎼🇬🇧
the percussions are included in the organ and are electromechanical, not electronic.

Played in what looks like a Catholic Church. Note the Statue of the Virgin and the Cardinal's Coat of Arms above the altar.
Yes! It is the chapel of the Seminary. unfortunately it is not always officiated. It is widely used as a lecture hall.
