Wow Mate after years of wanting a board and being able to program it!!! Finally I have a really good instructor!! Thanks Mate. I got mine working and you made it so easy to get it done. 🙏🏻. No other videos out there did what you were able to do it a short amount of time. Next I need to get my Foot-switch going.
Great video, thanks for doing this. I've had a ME-50 for several years that I bought second hand and didn't know how to do this. Also the reply you did on the footswitch answered my other question. You've saved me a ton of money from buying a different unit.
Well explained. What I like as that it is super easy - very intuitive to make sounds and as well save them. I purchased this for $80 CAD it will help me figure out what effects I like (yep I am new to this).
Dude. Thank you! I just bought the ME-90 and hate that it powers on in memory mode which FORGETS all the parameters you previously had set in manual mode. Your vid convinced me going back twenty years and buy the ME-50. And maybe I'll save one or two patches for specific songs.
Wow, I'm so glad I came across your comment! I almost purchased the ME-90 a few months ago but something told me it would've been a mistake so I decided to go with pedals instead. Had I spent hours trying tweaking the settings and stored them I would've really been upset had my programs been cleared when I turned my board on. It's hard to believe they made a multi-effects unit that doesn't save presets. I'm thinking that maybe there was just an issue with your unit that it wasn't saving your settings.
@@nuthinbutlove It saves presets! But you have to menu dive to make it recall the manual mode settings after cycling the power. Yeah, I do not regret selling mine even after learning about how to fix it. Boss should have set up the software that way from the start! Pretty lame.

Hi I just biught a 2nd hand me50...everything sounds good, creating patches, storing them, editing and all that...but my issue is....is there a way to eliminate the mute sound when switching to 1 patch to another? Kt just the sound syops for a split second....andn iys so noticeable...as wat you mentioned before the end of the video.
there's an 1/4" input on the back of the board labeled "foot switch" just plug your foot pedal into that and stomp away. I've used a piano sustain pedal for this before.
Hi Luke. Cool vid, I like the way you explain (even I'm french I can understand almost everything ha ha !!) Don't know if you'll see my com, but i'd like to ask you this question : Is the ME-50 affecting your basic tone ? (does it got a sort of bypass mode ?) I'm interested on buying one but I'm afraid to loose my clean tone plugging my guitar in that device (I use a vintage blackface fender amp that I love). Thanks and all the best for you !
All digital, early digital and it sounds limited. The clean tones here are really crisp. But none of the times will sound anywhere good as an analog pedal into your amp.
Only a few of the mod/delay/overdrive options actually produce a stereo effect. If you want to utilize one of those stereo effects you’d need to route the ME50’s L and R output to their own respective amps.
@@kevintaylor8832 did you try the stereo chorus or the pan delay to two amps? This is where it shines. Turn the effects level all the way up on the chorus to get an even level on the left and right.
I bought one of these 4 years ago and have been totally unimpressed with it. the tone is always to trebly or to muffledy. can not get a full bodied warm tone out of it to save your life. there's no equalization. the sound you get on it with no effects on is not even the same as what you get if you plug into the amp directly which tells you right of the bat that it's a low end product. all the distortion and tone modeling all use the same circuitry. i would rather have 4 dedicated distortion types that are generated independent of one another. it's delays and modulation effects are quite decent though an so is the wah.
@@sirleganse8593 no sir it does not give the clean natural tone. soon as i plug my guitar into it it goes all thin and trebly sounding which is not the natural tone of the guitar. further i am using it with an amp. i have owned this effects unit for 6 years now and it is not worth the money. you can't get a deep rich tone out of it to save your life. it doesn't have an amp modeling section but it does have a tone modify section. i like to set the pedal to resonance and use that to manipulate the tone, i got better sound out my old boss heavy metal pedal back in the day than i get out of the ME-50.

The boss me-50 is underrated. It is easy to experiment and is capable of some amazing sounds
Right! Super easy to do great sounding swells. Even some of the distortion settings can sound super nice.
Your explanation is EPIC
I just got my ME 50 THNKX FOR the lesson

Mine has a split second stop when switching between patches.

All these systems do that. It's even mentioned in the manual. No way around it

I don’t notice any difference in tone with going through the pedal or going straight in.
What kind of pedal you used for switch patch?
Thank you 👌
Do you know how to set it to stereo using 2 amps?

Shwagg Daddy3000 the ME-50 doesn’t have amp modeling, it gives you the clean and natural tone of your guitar. That’s why you need and amp with it.
