This is exactly why I think Himuyara should do a dark!Hetalia spinoff with episodes that last longer and that give us a clear view on what it is like to be a nation. it would be the best thing in the history of forever.
Yeah especially about things from Germany’s perspective. A lot of people wanted to blame the Germans for both World Wars and completely misinterpreted what the Germans believed in just to make all of them appear evil and the exact same thing is being perpetuated again with the accusations of neo-Naziism rising. In the dark spin off he could go into the darkest parts of each nation’s history and explain what those countries believed in and thought of at the time from a neutral perspective instead of casting retrospective judgment on them. This skit actually shows this. A lot of people believe that Hitler rose to power BECAUSE he was anti-Semitic and the Germans were already anti-Semitic so they put Hitler into power knowing he would kill the Jews. But that’s not right and this skit actually shows the reasons why Germany (and in our world the German people) gravitated to Hitler. While Hitler was definitely anti-Semitic, anti Semitism wasn’t exactly a German exclusive phenomenon. France, England and America also have a lot of history of anti-Semitic sentiments, for example France in there was the Dreyfus affair which effected Jews all over Europe. During The Great War, there was also some anti-Semitic propaganda that came out of America as well as antisemitic speeches and demonstrations around New York and Washington DC. In England there has been a lot of religious unrest for centuries which Jews were always caught in the middle of. So it’s not like Germany was special when it came his people hating the Jews. Hitlers personal antisemitism was just a fraction of the idea that planted itself in the German people and the Treaty of Versailles was like industrial grade fertilizer to the idea. The Germans believed that they were being attacked culturally by other nations. That they were being blamed for the war simply because of the fact they existed. And this angered the Germans, especially German veterans who felt completely betrayed by their Chancellor who signed the Treaty without any input from his parliament. Because of the blame clause, Germany felt like his service to defend his allies was completely spat on. He might have been on the opposite side of the conflict but you don’t disrespect a man’s service. No. Matter. What. Add that the years of economic struggle in the wake of being war torn and then paying back the ENTIRE WAR DEBT YOURSELF and THEN to try to buy time you try to make more money but accidentally create inflation instead. The Germans were pissed and rightfully so. They were completely mistreated in the treaty and Germany resented the hell out of the Allies for his suffering. But the politicians of Germany wanted to appease the UN and none of them even remotely considered trying to repeal the treaty in fear of retaliation from France and the UK. But one man, a war veteran and a German patriot, stood up for the people of Germany and vowed to put the German people first before any bogus peace treaty. He was a great speaker as well and invoked the strongest sense of nationalism ever seen. Even more than America today. Hitler talked mostly about the treaty at first but then about the troubles that the government was causing by putting other interests before the people’s. The Nazi’s were socialists by the way so Hitler really hated capitalism since it put the business owner before the common worker (the German citizen). So imagine Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders having a Nationalist Socialist love child and that was Hitler. Germans loved all of this more than anything since Hitler promised to end the economic struggle with socialism and put their needs first by being the common man. He promised utopia and utopia was what they really needed at the time. More so when the Great Depression hit and cut off their last crutch to sanity which was taking loans from America. When America went south, Germany believed he had no choice but to start taking back what he thinks is his to get on his feet again. Germany thought this was the only way out. Like a man at suicide with the gun to his own head, there’s nothing left but to pull that trigger and invade France. Germany did so and no one intervened. When Rhineland was captured the German people rejoiced and their nationalism grew stronger, Hitler consolidated power using his victory as an excuse to continue. Continuing to convince Germany that what they were doing was making things right. Taking back Austria against his will as pay back for abandoning him in the Great War, and soon expanding Eastward to the Former Prussia. Germany just wanted his family back really, all the land and people that once belonged to him, all of the greatness he use to be before the Great War. And in the East was Poland. Poland, the one place the rest to Europe told Germany not to go. And he invaded. It was almost like a statement to say. “When I said I wasn’t at fault for the war, you didn’t listen. Are you finally listening now?” And the world plunged into war again. The anti semitism began to crawl out of the wood works and to conserve what little victories he had, Germany gave the Jews his burdens. Blaming them for any negative results of his grand scheme. But all in all, he was running on the fumes of fear. Germany was terribly afraid of being bullied once again by the Allies into poverty. He he got bigger and bigger so they couldn’t bully him anymore. His head got bigger but his mind did not. All of the pride was destroyed at the Battle of Berlin. And he was completely broken down at the very end. Because he was scared. He was too scared to see what he was doing. So scared he would loose that he couldn’t be satisfied winning once. He had to win it all or in the end he lost. He would be doing nothing. That soul crushing fear drives people insane. And it drove Germany right into the one of the most horrific war times in the 20th century. His anger, his contempt, his fear, his pain, his suffering...It’s not a justification. He shouldn’t have lashed out this way. But being in that position, I don’t know if I...As a human being...Would do different. Knowing how fragile and sensitive I am. There are so many other dark histories that have alternative perspectives. America has his civil war and maybe we can switch between the Union which is America and the Late Confederacy. How young the Confederacy would be compared to America and how the Confederacy just wanted to leave and live on his own even if it was immoral. That tough time where America is fighting his own brother, his own flesh and blood like so many during the war. How the Confederacy died seeing his land and people completely destroyed by Sherman on his March to the Sea. The pain that the South went though and America healing his own wounds to show the War restoration that was attempted in the years following. Japan has his own dark past too with the rape of Nanking and his imperialist itch that he inherited from the westerners. So much dark history that could seriously make these characters so interesting as well as show a whole different perspective to thinks we once thought were cut and dry.
Ah, this was absolutely AMAZING! Just one thing to point out - America called it the "First" world war in the beginning, but they didn't know there would be a second war, so they just called it the great war. This gave me chills, the Allied speech and the Axis together, this was absolutely amazing.
I get that it's a bit late but this Skit was based on the aftermath of WWI not WWII that's why they start preparing if it were to ever happen again - meaning WWII.
No, this video is about WWI. Italy was Germany's ally in the first world war too but joined the allies. The League of Nations was founded in 1919 in order to stop these kind of conflicts before they even started.
This video was made years ago though I still kept it with me. it is amazing to watch and did make me cry, I don't understand how you all did this and did this live. this is seriously amazing..
Germany: "they will be war (dramatic music) *Italy, Japan, Britain, America and France put there head up* Me: *faces wall dramatically* sister: Why are you facing the wall Me: SIS DONT RUIN THE DRAMATIC MOMENT
you guys are just soooooo amazing!!!! i love all your videos this is my favourite probably because i get told i'm a bit of a history nerd and this was all ararat!!! you guys are sooo amazing!!!
i love american cosplayers and europian cosplayers, too. I'm from luxembourg and I observed that the Americans do more Hetalia cosplay than European. for me you are the best cosplayer.
Huge bonus points for using Globus as background music= that is some of the BEST immediate music to use for skits like this. Not a lot of Hetalia skits are serious and well done, so this definitely deserves that given award!
The ending of his always gives me chills. I love serious Hetalia and wish there was more serious skits in general. You completely deserved the award for best acting.
You guys were freaking amazing! My friends and I had chills! When ya'll were done, we started clapping and just kinda turned to eachother in like, complete awe! Best skit A-kon's ever seen!
It took me a second to recognize the music, but yes, I love Globus! And this is proof that dramatic skits, or skits referencing real world history can indeed be awesome.
Wow. Just...wow. I haven't seen any skits about this subject before, I love how you used the elements, like the music, it fit perfectly with the concept. Amazing!
This is by far one of fav hetalia skits! It is a dramatic representation of the result of WWI and the lead up to WW2. Very well done it stirred up quite a bit of emotion
Wow, this is actually quite good. The acting is much better than what is usually seen in cosplay skits, particularly Germany and Italy's interaction. You didn't do a bad job with the accents too, which is lovely to seel. Well done.
omg I LOVE saucy noodle cosplay! they did a mind-blowing soul eater skit and this one was just as amazing! god I LOVED this! you guys rock my socks! come to youmacon next year!!!!

I love this skit so much. I love the funny skits, but this is serious and it is my new fav cosplay. Germany made me feel so sorry for Italy when he said Feli betrayed him. I just wanted to hug Feli so much. I do admit that is the Germany cosplay I have ever seen.
