Y'all should put all the cutscenes on the timeline in the game for every expansion, dlc and season. That way new or returning players are no longer confused with the story.

The reason the traveler would always leave civilizations is because it didn’t have faith that they could hold off the witness. It was always looking for people to protect it, because it always had the final safety net of resetting the timeline as we know from Elsie. But finally the traveler came to us, and it saw us sacrificing ourselves time and time again, for each other, for the future. We showed it that sometimes victory requires sacrifice. The traveler knew this would happen, it knew if it stayed it would die, but it stayed because it has faith in us that we can win.
Or, and maybe this is too smart for bungie, have all the Story Missions be repayable and stop cutting content that we are paying for. I prefer my idea over bungies garbage Cutscene archive.

Something I've missed in my play throughs is the Witness saying at 10:48, "you will link the radial mast, and see the Veil destroyed". He links the veil and opens the portal, but the veil is still intact. My guess is that this is important.
the vision was by the witness through the ghost, it was using calus as bait for the guardian. the witness never wanted to destroy the veil but keep it in tact, so if he tells his enemies he wants it destroyed they will try to protect it.
The best thing you should have done, was to divide the story in two. One of our guardian should have gone to defend neonuma, and a second one should have stayed on earth to defend the last city. This way, we should felt the emergency of the situation. All of the campaign inwas wondering "why are we defending a dead city when the last 2% of the humanity is about to die"
We had to go the neomuna to defend earth. Our Ghost even questions whether we should’ve stayed or not but we needed to find the veil to stop the witness from making the connection (even though we still don’t know what the veil is or does)
MAN, I so love the prologue/Previously On Destiny 2 opening cutscene as Zavala gives us the rundown of what has happened so far... up to the end of Season of the Seraph with the Traveler leaving Earth to confront the Witness and its Black Fleet to protect mankind and Earth. :) Lance Reddick killed it.
The Destiny universe has such facinating lore. It's really amazing what the old Bungie Halo team came up with. Bungie now steered the game into this direction with the light and darkness which I think is still pretty good but man...there is so much potential. I hope they don't mess it up.
My favorite cutscene is the one where our guardian is trying the new strand power and keeps messing up. This quest has more cutscenes than ever before. On a side note, now that Cayde is back, can I play the Forsaken quest again? I really want to see how it all happened again. I really want to play that quest again. Get a better understanding of what is happening.

Destroying the Veil only comes up in the vision our Ghost provides after the Witness possesses it. It's a bit of misdirection on the Witness's part to trick us into getting close to the Veil without realizing it _needs_ the Veil.
@@LieutenantAlaki Honestly, with how Bungie have butchered this story since Destiny 1 vanilla, I think it's clear that they won't be able to deliver anything of substance or clarity to the extent that was Staten's original idea. I think you can make an argument for the Veil "misdirection", but let's use Occam's razor here and realize they just can't figure out how to tell a good story when they ALSO have to make 4 seasons with JUST enough drip fed content to keep their pocket books lined.

That's why it wants the power to access the Veil. *spoiler But the fact that it did travel through that portal, into what seems to be the Veil, and nothing happened until now.. It's weird. I thought the seasonal events would bring some more context, maybe this season, but everything looks like a big filler for The Final Shape expansion.

I just came up on this game and it's cool,but non of the characters are human. Yes they might have been humans at one time but they're not now. At least not full human. How much would you sell me destiny for? I would put all the content back in the game increase the games size from the empty 80gb it is now to the 250gbs it should be.
This story is so impressively bad that actually made me read through all the story leaks for the year and Final Shape to see if the game is still worth playing.
