This is much better than pixel 7 except the software support. Pixel 7 heats up a lot, has a 90hz screen and the processor is also sub par. You can get pixel like photos with gcam on moto phones as the sensor is same 50mp. Moto has better battery life along with better charging speeds both wired and wireless and you get a charger in the box.
For people who are thinking of buying a Motorola, the predecessor to this phone called the edge 30 ultra released a few months to the end of year 2022 is still stuck on android 12 with security patches as well delayed consecutively. The phone is full of bugs that users have reported and remains unattended. The camera is terrible. It's nothing like the adverts suggest. Worse than a budget range device. Read through the Motorola forum on this device. That will be the future of this "new device" as well. The customer care agents are even now banning and blocking users from raising concerns on the forum as well as even locking and preventing further outcry on the android 13 update. Buyer beware Most RUclipsrs conveniently do not discuss the software update issue when discussing Motorola devices. It's not that they are not aware. It's just not great advertising if they did.
I am using an edge 30 for the last 1 year. It has got 7 security patches so far. Android 13 for the edge 30 has already started rolling out here in India. Camera is great for the price. Software is pretty stable and bug free.
I don't think it's overpowered 778g+....... But as per price if you see the whole package it is worth... But if you want to judge it by only processor, you can get lot better like 8200, 8100, 870 in this price bracket.

@@gurindersingh6716 in edge 40, lots of hiccups.... As 8bit Lddr4x ram Video recording only 4k @30ps BT 5.2 ( can be manage ) And small battery..... Processor is slightly below power than 778g and 1080. I am thinking to have it, but will wait for proper review and comparison.

Motorola Edge 40 is one of my favorite launches of the season. This is actually a good option with its Dimensity 8020 processor.

Just bought some nano liquid wipes as apparently this scratches easily (level 3) nano wipes will make it likely be level 7 scratch.

Moto edge 40 is the first phone to come with 8020 and if you want to compare it with SD then it's little better than Snapdragon 778G+.

It's the first phone to come out with Dim 8020. The performance should be comparable to SD 778G as the architecture is very similar.
