I have 7 pairs that are Made in England. One pair Made in Thailand. Both are great. I went to a punk rock store here in PA. They only had Made in China...they were shit. Plus, I'm trying to avoid the Made in China anything, because they have the Uyghurs as slave labor. but, I still get Made in China crap once in a while.

😄 todays fashion victims who'll want to save the planet and fight climate change wear Doc Martens made in China...hilarious!
oh I forgot...they all wear the 'vintage made in england' 😄...where the sole wears out in literally one year.
I loved my Docs when I got them end of the 80s / beginning 90s...but I would never buy them today. Total crap.
It's just the brand you buy...a rich history looong gone. But not quality footwear as it used to be pre 2000's..or before 1995 when they made their own soles under the term "AirWair".

There is a lot of variation in quality depending where the Dr Marten boots are made. Some people have bad experiences because of this. Of course it all related back to pricing. However if someone truly wants the real Dr Martens experience they will need to be stamped "Made in England" there is quite a bit of difference in quality. I have been wearing Dr Martens since 1990's and have bought made in Vietnam, Laos, Thailand... and none compare to the made in England. The quality of the leather ranges and even the construction seems to not be as perfect as the ones made in England. I stopped buying any Dr Matens not made in England because I found myself wearing the MIE over any of the others. Sure the MIE can be more expensive which is the biggest indicator in quality difference. If you don't want to pay the premium for the MIE, and don't mind 2nd hand gently used boots... you can find MIE for reasonable prices on ebay sometimes almost brand new. Lots of people order the incorrect size and that's your opportunity to snatch true Dr Martens med in England for a bargain.

Yeah that’s true.. the made in England are a bit better and people should try it

Yesterday I bought the crazy horse 1460 sligthly used and in a very good shape for 80€ via ebay in my hometown. They were made in Bangladesh. Wear them today for the first time the whole day through and they fit very well. Maybe because they were kind of broken in by the former owner. I like them and hope that they will last for a very long time. Also the sole. My girlfriend, a fan of Docs, recommended me to buy a pair of Martens. And so I did after a while. I like the classic style of the 8 hole 1460.

1461s in crazy horse leather here bought in the UK but they’re made in Bangladesh. They’re bad quality IMHO. Leather is cracking in just a few weeks, despite me treating them with the Wonder Balsam. Bought them out of nostalgia for the great quality made in England pairs I used to wear in the 90s which lasted years. They’re not even comparable shoes these days.

Vietnam- but yeah, the marketing seems a hair shady. For example in US you might find products that read 'asembled in usa' or other way around. Are asian footware asembled from eg Brazilian leather? I appreciate & respect clarity. If the label has CE or USA ( or Finland) it gets my attention. Especially Online Shopping is making this difficult. I'm not political per say- just concerned what I'm paying for, right? -Cheers!

    • @martinsmith1525
      @martinsmith1525 Год назад

The modern mie docs in my opinion have the same and even less thickness then mia docs. I have a leather measure and have measured all my docs, modern, vintage, asian and also my solovair and gripfast boots.
The mie ones come out the thinnest.
Personally, i would not recomend buying modern made in England docs, but as said, that is just me.👍
The quality, leather, for what you are paying, which is not cheap, is garbage !.

They are also made in Bangladesh.
I have 6 pairs of modern docs.
3 pairs are made in Loas, 1 pair bangladesh and 1 pair in Vietnam.
I find the ones made in Bangladesh, slightly better quality then the rest. I had another pair that were also made in Bangladesh a while ago and they were also good quality.
My 6th pair of modern docs are made in England.
In my experience of walking a lot in them, i find the asian made docs better then the mie ones.
I also have 4 pairs of vintage 70s, 80s, and early 90s docs. Great quality and feel like a proper boot, strong thick leather and last a good few years wearing them most days of the week.

The ones i have that are made there are the new 8 eye gaucho bex sole. They came out about 1 or 2 months ago. Very nice boots.

Most are made in North and south Vietnam. 👍
The new Dr Martens 8 eye gaucho with bex sole, is a real nice boot, not sure if you have seen them, but the leather is good and full grain.
However, out of all of them, for me anyhow, as everyone is different, i personally love Solovair for comfort and the structure of their boots, do not need too much breaking in either. Especially there greasy and gaucho leathers. 👍
