  • Polished surface helps to reduce friction between the cement and the implant reducing potential for third body wear; polished double tapered design helps to create radial compressive loading.
Collarless neck helps to allow intraoperative leg length adjustment aided by reference points on both the stem and the rasp.
Innovative centralizer is designed to allow stem to engage distally within the cement mantle, subjecting the cement to compressive loading, and reducing end bearing of the stem directly onto the cement.

And it will be sometime this year hopefully by early spring but l’m in pain now l take medication daily l did shots they were okay and l walk with canes in my house when l go out l use s walker because the last thing l Need to do is fall so l use it then.
      I’m Scared as l don’t know what..!
But l pray that my surgery will go well for me and it’s a must that l have it done because l did physical therapy the pain management but all was temporary and l had to leave my job l did everything l could before letting them have to cut on me so Mow l have NO choice so l pray that God watches over me and My Surgent he’s the best a Specialist here in Brooklyn New Presbyterian Methodis Hospital.

Hi Lisa, I pray that God will guide the surgeons hands, and his staff, as they perform your procedure. I myself am having a right hip replacement done on Feb 25th. However, I still have time to change my mind and do the hip resurfacing, if I want to do that instead. Both have their advantages and disadvantages, so it's a tough choice. Not sure which way to go!!

The reaming of the acetabulum is very important...and make sure you leave enough bone anteriorly...posteriorly and the roof of the acetabulum...mesure the FÉMORAL head and Ream 2 mm bigger...no problème for impacting the acetabular component...

My left hip joint ( both the ball and socket) was removed 12 years back when I was 16 and had a giant cell tumour. But it was not artificially replaced as the doctors were afraid that the bones would grow and cause trouble . Moreover they were sure that the muscles will be strong enough to carry the weight . Now I am 27 and can walk albeit with a pronounced limp and relatively weak thigh muscles . I can ride bicycles perfectly though. Now I wanted to ask if there would be any problem later on to by back or waist?

I had a total right hip in Boston- 2011. Your up & moving 1st day. No bed pans. Yeah ! It went well. Hospital, DR.S and nurses made 5 day stay nice. I did 2 wks. rehab at home. Amazing how it hit me- NO PAIN ! Bottom 3 sutures werent tight. Eventually he took 3 lower stiches out. End of 3rd week I developed a nasty abcess. Im somewhat in disagreement in how he handled this. He is a excellant ortho.surgeon. Nice personality. In 2014, I developed Sepsis around that hip. This I wont go into. Its upsetting. I have a question that can be directed to someone with knowledge of this. My whole incision from hip replacement swelled & was red. The worse area was at bottom where a abcess developed 3 wks. after surgery. That scar is wider then resr of scar. No medical staff even looked there. The aide saw it. Question: I have pictures of what that incision looks like. Its gross. Ive been told by 3 doctors " they never saw something like that" or "I dont know". Infectious disease specialist took a picture. I'd like to share that picture and get some answers. I will have to validate who you are 1st. Anyone out there have same happen, please share with me. Thank you.

@@rosiehill9718 Wow, I am glad to hear you had a positive experience with hip replacement. I am so freaked out about having it done and wonder of the long term life span of the hip joint. The pain I'm in is terrible and the mobility is poor. However, physical therapy has been great with less pain and mobility. I wish you a speedy recovery.

I like the ball n socket in this video, but I've also seen various opinions about what differences between drs about the long run in flexibility that will be left with too work with, I'm 64 years old, and I have a history of studying the hobby of martial arts karate, I need to know that if I get hip surgery, that I will get my karate splits back, and that means with out no exceptions, I will need full clearance for the splits, I can't bend over at this point in time, and I have been told that my insurance is there, but I'm hoping to get a clear understanding of the doctor's skills and abilities to make sure that works out that way, not being able to practice my karate is like having a big hole in my life, I can't even go to the archery range anymore,
I need my hips back 🥋🎯🏹
But I do use a cane to walk with,

I had hip replacement surgery 2 days ago. I didn't like the thought of surgery but I was in so much pain I didn't care anymore and was not worried by it at all even when they wheeled me into the operating room. I was even awake during the surgeryasijust had a spinal block and I just layed there in awe of the skill of the surgeon and his team and grateful that I live in a time when I can have such an operation that will give me my life back. If I can do it anyone can.

Chronic malignant pain is a huge cause of depression. I wake myself up at least 2x night screaming out in pain. This also alienates friends and family because nobody wants to hear that shit.
I'm 3 yrs overdue for replacement, my leg is almost 2" shorter now and all I have to look forward to is getting worse. Yes, suicide is an option, but I'm in this situation for some reason I've yet to understand. I sometimes think If only I could heal it through Divine request or wake up and be well.
Hmmm... I used to be able to slam dunk a basketball. Now I cannot stand or walk without a walker.
