There was something so beautifully dark about their earliest songs that they captured. I do not think they can capture it again... Not that their new stuff is bad, its just not... this. Which is so unique and special.
L. Rainfell there was three talented song writers. Amy Lee, Ben Moody, and David Hodges. They were the core and heart of Evanescence. Both guys left the band due to their differences and now it's just not the same. I, 100%, agree with you.Still good but not the same.

Far from heaven is amazing actually but there's definetely something real and amateuristic about their EPs and first albuns you can see her vision of the world and music was different back then the best within her limitations. Now She sounds way better but that truth seems to have changed their songs are good in a different way now.

@@whiteillusion89 I mean I agree they were talented, but I think Amy was the biggest writer in the band and I actually think their overall best work is Synthesis but I have to admit The pre-Fallen era of evanescence was interesting because it was their least commercial era they had a signature sound, but they were also willing to experiment. Nothing they released afterward sounds like their 1997 EP and that's why I love it. But saying that technically Evanescence was better before is wrong, but artistically I sorta agree. But I think that day comes for every artist, where the raw inspiration isn't there anymore, and you have to try to come up with new ideas, and they end up being similar to the ones you had before, but I still believe evanescence still has a lot to give.
A real masterpiece. Their early songs truly were very powerful and more connecting. She needs to release a studio version of this. Perhaps with her family even.
Can we just appreciate the canon in the latter half of this song. Both Amy and Stephanie sing it beautifully. "You may beat me down, just denying the truth. But you can't kill the me in you."
Shah Dee amy lee and ben moody said in an interview they dont remember this song and that they written it on the streets and only performed it in a bar with only 20-30 people.
+Shiranuj Ethia the record company she singed onto we're arses & wanted to change the songs that she produced, amy lee herself has said that she hates Bring me to life, because they we're pretty much told if they didn't do bring me to life with the rap parts in it that they wouldn't sign her, or something along those lines
This lyrics... They were never able to reproduce it again. I guess it was because they were young and conflicted... It as haunting and beautiful, and so sad. I'm happy Amy is well/happy now, though.

I just came across a person who said,'' I hate Evanescence as much as the next guy.'' But they don't know that Evanescence has beautiful songs like this. People who hate Evanescence are Nickelback fans.
Hum, I thought the song title was "I know a secret". Anyway, I know she was only 17 when she sang this in Vino's Bar. Somebody has the whole video performance here on RUclips.
420th like 🍃💨🤘and OH MY FUCKING GOD, this song is an absolute masterpiece. Amy is releasing a new album this year, I really hope she considers re-recording this for the new Evanescence record.
'Catherine' is an instrumental that Amy and Ben wrote on a parking lot and only ever performed in a coffee shop to about 20-30 people. This is not Catherine. This song has no official title, Amy said she can't remember this. There is a song that was rumoured to be an outtake of Evanescence EP called 'Me and You'. Some people believe that Me and You is a misconception of 'Me in You' which is most likely this song. Fans of RUclips have unofficially named this song 'You Can't Kill The Me In You' or have mistaken this song for 'Catherine' which was never recorded.

The perfect Evanescence it's Ben and Amy. That's it. And then - Ben, Amy and David. Ben need Evanescence and Amy need Ben. Ben's solo works... Evanescence albums after Ben's departure... No comment.
+Nikolai Popolis Yeah, I hate to say it but you are 100% right. When Ben & Amy made music together it was MAGIC (And yes, can't forget about David). I tried to like The Open Door and their self-titled album as much as Fallen and their pre-Fallen material but I never could... something is missing. People can deny it all they want but what's missing is Ben Moody. I think Amy is extremely talented & creative but Ben really helped make Evanescence what it was. They have just never been the same since he left.
Michelle It's relieving that there's people who thinks like you. Amy will never admit that she still need Ben. And Ben is going dowm without Evanescence...
+Savannah Glenn I've heard several people say that. I still think it's a good album and it definitely has some really creative moments. Lose Control is probably the most creative song they've ever made, by far my favorite from that album.
What a beautiful song, I wish she could release a studio version of the song. Her old songs are otherworldly.

For some reason, the chatter goes with the song really well

I knoooow I love that part!!

Her voice is hurting me my soulless soul. So mysterious and deep..
This is a rare song, but lyrics are amazing oh god. I love Evanescence, a lot of their pre-Fallen era stuff are great.
THANK GOD FOR A-Z LYRICS!!!!!! (only reason I found this)
+Arie K Same here x'D
Me to
Thanks for uploading this! i was trying to snip out the nerd saying "The chick is hot, the chick is hot" myself and cant manage to use audio tools 😆
I didn't know this song existed until today. I'm SO glad I found it!!!!!
She was a weird pitch thing in the beginning and I wish she preformed this amazing song more than once. It bothers me. But I love this song so much.
This is a purity ❤
Beautiful Song🌹💕💖💗🎉💝💝 with angelic voice 😘

I love this song do muchhh. 💜

This song could actually be called Evanescence. She should redo it and rename it after the band

Someone tell Amy to redo this song and give it a title it deserves!
Deve ter participação do Ben, por isso ela não faz
Deve ter participação do Ben
I want this song on my wedding
Nice.
I wonder why It's called Catherine
It's never been officially dubbed "Catherine" but im also not sure why it came to be called that though
