Just came back to share my thoughts and thank you for your spot on review (as always)!
My girlfriend and i bought that one out of curiosity regarding the laser. Man, i can say this with confidence: i LOVE vacuuming since we got the V15. First reason being that this laser makes it entertaining. You're on the "hunt" for dust and can spot it easily.. secondly the counter for the particles being shown adds to this "gamification" kind of feeling- "i am sure this room is clean enough to be under 'xxxxxxxx 'particles. And lastly - the versatility: we had to move our Christmas tree out of our apartment, so we simply took it to the elevator, going down into the garage and shoving it into our car. Well.. we had this tree for 2 months so a huge lot of needles came off.. they were in the thousands. -Took the v15, removed the long pipe and put the bristle head onto the device itself -Went through and was able to suck all of those needles up in one go -Also cleaned the car with it.. all in one battery charge. I a m going to get this one for my bf, hopefully, he is going to to dusting more often. Great review. I bought the V15 detect about 3 weeks ago and wow, it is absolutely amazing! I had never had a dyson or even a cordless vacuum before, man was I missing out. Yes it is very expensive ($750 including tax), but I do think it is worth that cost. The green laser feature will literally make you look forward to vacuuming haha, especially in low light or at night time when the green laser is more visible. Of course the green laser only shows dust and dirt on hardwood/tile, so if your home is mostly carpet then this feature won’t matter as much to you. I’d go so far as to say that the V15 detect may be the single best investment you can make as far as home cleaning tools goes. I can’t stop vacuuming my house ever since I got it lol. The green laser exposes so much debris on your floors that you never ever would be able to see with the naked eye, it’s crazy to see how much stuff accumulates on your floor in just a matter of hours after the last vacuum. I hope this vacuum proves to be long lasting, time will tell!
Ever try a powerful flashlight? I’ve been doing this for while now it’s the only way I clean hardwood. So when I saw this laser I was like it’s kind of weak it should be 2 lasers so you can see a wider area.
@@MPowerSubie12 no I never even though to try a flashlight before. At first when I saw it in the store I thought the laser was just a gimmick but man was I wrong. It is very effective and changes the whole hardwood/tile vacuuming experience.

Just got this V15 earlier this week and my wife and I love it! I thought the laser was more of a gimmick but it really does help show where the dirt is and give confirmation that the vacuum is picking it all up. Very impressed with how this thing cleans and our old corded vacuum is going to be warming the bench.
I think the particle counter could be useful in a two stage cleaning method. Your vacuuming area once restart the machine and vacuum again and you can kind of see if you’ve got most of the dirt. I think white would be way more useful as a real time meter instead of a counter. I think it would be incredibly useful if I’m vacuuming and had three bars shooting to the ceiling telling me there’s tons of dirt and watching them slowly lower to let me know that that spot is nice and clean
@@bobufo5729 that’s why he said “two-stage.” Vacuum once, and you get presumably most of the dirt. Vacuum the same area again, and you get, presumably most of what remains. Hopefully the first pass has a lot of dirt, and the second pass has very little, if any.
Hi Vacuum Wars from the UK, Thanks for a review on this cordless vacuum. I’ve never used one let alone owned one. We’d already decided on buying one, but which model was confusing and you helped clarify this model. So I went ahead and bought one and it was delivered the following day. What I didn’t realise until after I’d bought it, was that it had only been on the UK market 3 days. I used it for my normal vac today and I’m really impressed. Thank you
The value of the dirt readout is in recognizing changes over time. Ideally if you vacuum on a regular schedule and your home routine is consistent, then the numbers you see should be consistent as well. If you notice your suddenly picking up a lot more fine dust, then that may indicate an issue that needs looking into.
Not really, the dirt readout will never be consistent, because it depends on our own behavior. Yeah if we would stay 24/7 at home and never go outside it will stay consistent.
Welp, you finally got me. I haven’t purchased a new vacuum in years. The last vacuum I (accidentally) purchased was a really crappy Eureka that came in a $5 grab bag purchase. Unfortunately my wife loved it for its convenience compared to our Miele canister. So that vacuum (aka “dust dispersion tool”) ended up getting used more often than the Miele (well, that and the fact that she can SEE the dirt being picked up in the canister as opposed to all of it being in a bag.) It dawned on me how our carpets were suffering so I finally caved and decided to get something everybody (kids included) would use. I decided on a v15 but wouldn’t click “buy” until this full review was released. I also realized I have come to trust your reviews more than anything else on the matter, so here we are... I bought it hours after this was released. So far it has completely lived up to expectations - probably exceeded them. But I now also understand why you seem to give high praises to something as simple as docking stations with excellent tool management. I suppose that’s the only downside to this. Well, that and I’m going to want to buy another battery I think...
We received ours a couple of days ago. My wife and I patiently waited for the battery to charge, then spent the next hour taking turns with it. It's awesome. The laser isn't a gimmick. It's easy to miss spots when vacuuming. We like it. At this point we're ambivalent about getting another battery. However, that was a key point before purchasing.
@@codyfrancis4474 Never timed it. The other day my wife used it to vacuum our 2550 sq ft home. It fell 250 sq ft short of completing the job. No biggie. This was a thorough vacuuming, not just a pass through.
@@1TLA7 I got the Stearns & Foster Reserve mattress, Water Right lead-free hose, and today picked up the Dyson V15. I’m much more excited about using these Boomer products than I was about playing PS5.
We recently lend my V11 Outsize for my in law family while they took care our dogs for 3 weeks. They feel in love with our Dyson v11 outsize. Then found out Dyson discontinue it and replaced it with V15. One channel I thought to find out what/why Dyson replace it was Vacuum Wars channel. V15 is a beast and will probably be my mother in law next vacuum to buy. Even I was impressed by the upgrades. I think Dyson has a outsize version of the v15 but it's name Outsize Absolute+. I'll wait for your review on that. Thank you for your thorough review on Dyson product vacuums and honest opinion on products.
Just purchased this for my wife. Lol I’ve been using it almost everyday. I can’t get over the level of performance and the overall design. Much happier with the purchase after using the vacuum!
I just got the dyson v15: its a good overall cordless vacuum cleaner. However, here are some points that are not addressed anywhere: - It has a really hard time to vacuum dense low pile carpets, so I need to put the vacuum on ECO with the gates entirely open. - Not sure if this is a general cordless vacuum issue, but since the outlet of air happens so high it actually blows off the dust that's on top of furniture.
Wow!!! I had really low expectations for a vacuum review video. This was amazing! You did a crazy good job and the editing and testing were way beyond what I would have thought.
Thank you for this review! You sold me! I was leaning toward the V10 Cyclone Animal, but I have both hardwood floors and carpet and the V15 Detect I think will be a better fit for my cleaning needs. I currently have a Dyson DC17 Animal upright vacuum and I'd forgotten when I bought it. When I looked up that purchase it was over 16 years ago!!! I am way overdo for a new vacuum!. My DC17 still works well, but I'm getting older and the new vacuums are much lighter and I will love that feature. I also have a Dyson handheld vacuum, but I like the fact that the new models can go from a full vacuum to a handheld. Anyway, thanks again. Your review was so helpful. I really appreciate it!
@7:35 I think what's happening is that the hair strands are too short, so the "comb" is straightening the hairs to the comb while still being stuck to the bristles. I think that this device works by continuously unsticking the hair from the bristles that by being "screw shaped" just get stuck further and further. Usually used human hair is not that straight and by being on the floor for some time, it's already tangled.
Just got mine today, and I have a clean carpet, but damn after using this v15, I never imagined there was that much dirt and sand in my carpet, lol. This thing is truly a beast
I have an old Dyson upright, in fact the original DC15 Ball, which has been a great vacuum and is still going strong. I often wonder how these new generation cordless vacuums would compare to such an old upright.
I also had the DC15, gave it to a relative, and got the enormous cinetic. The uprights are classics and part of the "the don't make them like this anymore..." shtick. However, I got a cordless one after being called a caveman by one of my friends. Think of it as an electric broom. And if you're a very loyal dyson owner like myself, the customer service representative will be very helpful and will send you another battery if you ask nicely. 10/10 would recommend and also makes cleaning a car and window tracks so much easier.
I couldn't love a vacuum more! I have 2 rescue dogs, one being a border collie mix , loving but a champion tumblweed shedder; the other is a short haired Staffie that leaves black fur mostly on the furniture covers. I have 2 ancient D7 Dysons. Both are in Hospice care. New parts, cleaned, bought batteries & prayed. Limited suction & run time. This V15 detect is the bomb. The run time alone allows me to vacumn floors, carpets & furniture in one, yes ONE charge! My entire home! I enjoy turning all the lights off & laser sweeping my tile floors. No fur left behind! Even salt crystals from hubbie fixing lunch vanish into the bin! No crumbs anywhere are missed. The bar is set to the medium postion & the automatic setting. It reeves up a bit when I sweep my entrance rugs getting all the sand the dogs drag in. The fur attachment is great. I had a plug in Dyson but found it too hard to push & maneuver. This is light weight & easy to push but through. Sweeper trails in the carpet again! No moving the cord to a different outlet & no cord to hold out of the way. I look forward to vacuuming again! A bit pricey but well worth the investment! If you can afford it, get it. ❤❤❤
I bought the Outsize V11 vacuum cleaner for myself for Christmas (never thought I'd type that sentence), and now I'm having some vacuum envy. Glad to know the soft roller is available for V11 models, at least. Good on Dyson for always innovating. Thanks for the review! I always love your videos.
I personally would say the V11 Outsize is the best bang for your buck vacuum. It's a bigger unit in general, which is great for larger houses, comes with a larger cleaner head, and an extra battery. For hard floor cleaning, I'd honestly just get the Omn-glide as I've always had issues with the fluffy head throwing debris backwards. The normal head does well enough though.
I have a V10 - I found it didn't suck up dirt near sideboards/edges near the wall. So I hope this one is improving on this. Never had an issue with the plug in ones.
3:58 you got this right! Ive tried without lights, vacuuming felt like a chore!! I dont know why Dyson took this long but that floor head design really looks good! Cant see how it can be better.
Dyson is simply stubborn! But at least now u get a laser(only on one head?!) instead of LEDs! Swappable batteries took them ages and u just got the standard stuff :-)
Just bought a refurbished V15 Detect Absolute on Dyson’s official eBay store per this video’s recommendation. It’s a total game-changer. Thanks for the thorough review!
sure they poor all their money into R and D but completely skimp on quality, every single person I know that has bought a dyson vacuum has broke, not even after that much time either. the actual materials they use are so cheap its unbelievable.. they work really well until they dont.
My V15 came this week and I absolutely love it. LOVE it. The laser is very helpful and much needed. I just didn't know it. Such a great purchase. I also returned my V11 Outsize with great pleasure. Hated it. Loved how easy it is to return something awkward, like a vacuum, to Dyson.
Personally as a 27 year old man, I never thought I would be looking at a thousand dollar vacuum review but I am. I bought the dyson V11 animal and it’s a good vacuum.
I think the particle counter is amazing and helps to tell if the floor is actually clean or if you need to pass over it a few more times. Also cool if your a micro biologist and want to see the microbes in your home 😂👍
after watching your review i thought i'd order the V15 & just got it yesterday (UK release date is always much later than the USA) . I can tell you that my V11 is nowhere near as powerful as the V15 - i have carpet and laminate flooring and it just pulled dust out the carpets like i hadn't been vacuuming the carpets for years.
@@lizardbeth68 I wonder if this is due to slight degradation of the suction over time, then the new vacuum coming in and picking up where the other one left off, even with its 5-10% increase in power. food for thought.
I'm loving the V15, just got mine two days ago. The fact they now have a battery that is swappable on the fly and a light are two features that kept me buying Tineco instead of Dyson. This is the first Dyson actually worth buying for me.
@@Donte383 No. Which is a tradeoff I was willing to make given the V15 came with a normal and a soft roller. I rarely ever had to switch my Tineco batteries, I only did it periodically to wear them evenly over the long term.
Perfect timing for a new Dyson. I just gave my trusty, old V8 to a family member. Glad the V15 is out and that it hasn't gotten 'porkier' than the previous model.
Watching your videos is soooo satisfying and helpful 👍 I was going to buy V11 Absolute Extra (in Europe there's such a series with a 220AW suction power like the outsize model in US) but now I'm thinking of waiting for the v15 to appear in my country 😉
Sadly I spent the $600 for the V15. At first I thought it was great. As time went by the small canister filled up with dog hair too fast, within 5 minutes of vacuuming. We have one chocolate lab. She sheds. But the V15 clogs almost instantly when I vacuum. The design isn’t meant for large spaces or a lot of dirt and dog hair. I know others who love this vacuum but their environment isn’t as hairy or dirty… sadly it was a waste of money and now I’m in the market for a good vacuum that doesn’t stop working because of dog hair within minutes. Have any suggestions?
Never realised a vacuum cleaner review was the video on RUclips I’d end up watching from beginning to end, excellently done, intelligently done actually. Subbed!
Not now because the vacuum is brand new but eventually you will be able to buy it on the dyson site. It’s on there now but all the parts are “sold out” because it’s so new.
Found ONE at a local Target. Dyson, the company had none. This thing is picking up stuff every time as though we lived in a dust bowl. What I don't like. 1. No light with the standard brush- what's with that???. I bought mini stick on lights on Amazon. I stuck one to the front of the brush. Works well. 2. You have to continuously hold the power button to vacuum. My finger felt like it was going numb in about 10 minutes. Found a $10 switch lock on Amazon. Easy to attach and works flawlessly. Push right to on and left to off. What in the world doesn't this come standard on a $750 vacuum. Those 2 items make this machine almost perfect.
I hope they’ve redesigned the trigger. Just had the main body replaced on our v11 owing to the spring failing. This exact same part failed twice on our old v10. Dyson were excellent in replacing the parts, but it was disappointing to see they didn’t make it more robust. One thing that bugs me with the v11: defaulting to medium power, I miss the switch on the v10 because of it.
A V13 will never be available as 13 is associated with bad luck here in the UK and Dyson has never had a model with 13 in it. A V12 would be a variant model available most likely in the Far East.
Can you do a review on the Dyson Big Ball Canister vacuums ? It seems to be the cheapest entry point for some who cant afford Dyson, but does it perform any good?
I have the animal canister and the moosoo k17. I prefer the dyson canister because it really picks up better than the moosoo i just don't like that its a corded vacuum.
There's also Dyson V12 Detect Slim which came out before V15 only sold in Asia. It'd be great if you could grab one of those to test. They're pretty rare.
I always struggled with the house brand low in vacuums I always thought they were good enough, until I was fortunate enough to buy a Dyson I’ll never go back to the good all days, just try not to look at the retail price they’re outrageously expensive and hard to believe that there anywhere close to worth it, but they really are.
Side note for anyone actually interested in the v15, Dyson also released a HEPA filter version that has a crevice tool built into the wand of the vacuum, instead of having to store that seperatly on the wand, I find it to be very convenient. (full HEPA version can filter even smaller particles down to 0.1 microns according to Dyson)
The current filter on it works well enough that I'm not sure their improved one would make much difference, but they look interchangeable if anyone wants to upgrade later. The built in crevasse tool looks useful, although I would be concerned that it could cut down on airflow by being an unnecessary obstruction in the tube when not being used. Very satisfied with mine in general, I just wish they would have included a hose to make advice floor cleaning better, even though it is offered separately
I find it interesting that Dyson no longer markets the filters with the purple housing as HEPA when they use to. I wonder if they made the change when the upgraded HEPA filter came out on the V15+??
LOVE Dyson and LOVE our V11 torque , we are 4 months from the warranty ending and the trigger stopped working, they are sending me an entire new unit and didn’t hassle me about it at all.... good stuff..... but now the nerd in me wants this one lol
Video idea: buy some of the knockoff replacement filters for the V10-V11 on Amazon and see if they pass your filter test, or if you’re better off buying the Dyson part. As always, great vid.
Fantastic review, as always. Would love to see you add car cleaning to your standard review methodology. I have no idea which of the many attachments that came with my V11 Torque to use for optimal car cleaning.
Thank you for this. I bought my wife one and but they don’t come with instructions. This is her first ever dyson we didn’t know how to maximize the features until seeing your review.
Dyson has a version of the v15 detect called the detect+ on their website. It has a filter that can trap dirt up to 0.1 microns. Check it out. It might destroy the competition on ur micron particle test
I purchased the V15 few weeks BEFORE the moment I saw this video and I watched this video today just to be sure that im not the only one to be in love with that thing... I will never go back to other vaccums! Never.

When your first cordless vacuum IS the V15, cleaning with it is revolutionary.
You can buy tool storage expansion thingies that click into the existing wall mount… I found a 9 attachment one, Google Dyson wall mount adapter.
So on max power this thing goes for 60 mins ?
@@codyfrancis4474 Never timed it. The other day my wife used it to vacuum our 2550 sq ft home. It fell 250 sq ft short of completing the job. No biggie. This was a thorough vacuuming, not just a pass through.
I just spent 2 days researching nice vacuums, mattresses, and garden hoses. I’m officially old.

Great to hear!
Purchased what all the vacuums?
I just got the dyson v15: its a good overall cordless vacuum cleaner. However, here are some points that are not addressed anywhere:
- It has a really hard time to vacuum dense low pile carpets, so I need to put the vacuum on ECO with the gates entirely open.
- Not sure if this is a general cordless vacuum issue, but since the outlet of air happens so high it actually blows off the dust that's on top of furniture.
I have the same issue with mine with your carpet problem, it sucks but oh well 😎
The blowing of the dust is what I’m worried about. Does it do this even on low power mode?
@@YourFriendSJ I believe so. But then again I think this is a general problem with the wireless vacuums
Wow!!! I had really low expectations for a vacuum review video. This was amazing! You did a crazy good job and the editing and testing were way beyond what I would have thought.
Thank you so much!
This is why I turn my lights off when I'm vacuuming hard floors. You can see all the dirt with the LED light. It is super satisfying. lol
I turn off the lights so I can't see the dirt. Since I can't see it anymore I don't have to vacuum. ;)
@@curtisbme lol Your socks and feet will still find it. 😂
I tried that too. The spots I cleaned were VERY clean. However, the entire areas I missed because the lights were out were still very dirty/dusty.
I don’t know how I ended up here but I absolutely frigging love this.
Same 🤣🤣🤣
@7:35 I think what's happening is that the hair strands are too short, so the "comb" is straightening the hairs to the comb while still being stuck to the bristles.
That is great to hear!
Thanks to this video I just bought my this as my first Dyson Vacuum and WOW I am not disappointed. Thank you!
Soooo glad you are happy with it!

Glad you liked it!
You will enjoy that V11!
@@VacuumWars i do like my V11 a lot! Way better than the cheap corded Bissell I had before. 👍
I actually got the v15 for less then I paid for an outsize
I just bought this vacuum and I can honestly say I’m enjoying using it. It’s truly amazing

Aren't lights on vaccuum from the 2000's?
They pulled a nividia and are competing with themselves, now hopefully they won’t have the stock issues

You get people saying Dyson is too expensive. But they fail to realise just how much money all that R&D costs in the first place.
sure they poor all their money into R and D but completely skimp on quality, every single person I know that has bought a dyson vacuum has broke, not even after that much time either. the actual materials they use are so cheap its unbelievable.. they work really well until they dont.
How long did you have it before returning it
Personally as a 27 year old man, I never thought I would be looking at a thousand dollar vacuum review but I am. I bought the dyson V11 animal and it’s a good vacuum.
I think the particle counter is amazing and helps to tell if the floor is actually clean or if you need to pass over it a few more times. Also cool if your a micro biologist and want to see the microbes in your home 😂👍
We already have a built in sensor for this, called our eyes!! Besides, it doesn't matter what size they are.

after watching your review i thought i'd order the V15 & just got it yesterday (UK release date is always much later than the USA) . I can tell you that my V11 is nowhere near as powerful as the V15 - i have carpet and laminate flooring and it just pulled dust out the carpets like i hadn't been vacuuming the carpets for years.
Same! Oh my gosh! I'm appalled!
@@lizardbeth68 I wonder if this is due to slight degradation of the suction over time, then the new vacuum coming in and picking up where the other one left off, even with its 5-10% increase in power. food for thought.
@@KatanaFPV Well, I have a cleaning lady vacuuming every other week too. LOL. But glad it's coming up now!
Just bought it and like it, since I have fluffy carpets and cats, Dyson really makes my life easier and keep house clean
I'm loving the V15, just got mine two days ago. The fact they now have a battery that is swappable on the fly and a light are two features that kept me buying Tineco instead of Dyson. This is the first Dyson actually worth buying for me.
Does it come with an extra battery?
@@Donte383 No. Which is a tradeoff I was willing to make given the V15 came with a normal and a soft roller. I rarely ever had to switch my Tineco batteries, I only did it periodically to wear them evenly over the long term.
I have been waiting for this vacun cleaner for like 3 years!
Nytron, to recharge the battery, is there a separate battery charger, or does the whole vacuum have to be charged in the wall mount?
Imagine making vacuums and not letting you swap the batteries lmao 😂🤣 but now it's a feature.
Perfect timing for a new Dyson. I just gave my trusty, old V8 to a family member. Glad the V15 is out and that it hasn't gotten 'porkier' than the previous model.
Oh no! Your V8 has been through the wars. Good to see ya as always.
@@VacuumWars Oh, it has lots of friends, so it doesn't get worked too hard.
Subbed!
Welcome aboard!
Just bought this. Excited to use it!

I have a question. Can I buy the new soft cleaner head that comes with the v15 for my v11? Also great job on the vid.
Not now because the vacuum is brand new but eventually you will be able to buy it on the dyson site. It’s on there now but all the parts are “sold out” because it’s so new.
Would this work for the v10 ?
It's only compatible with V11 Outsize
@@timsteele9372 do you have a source for that info, or tested this yourself?
Ok thanks
I’m buying this for my wife today. Just had luxury vinyl flooring installed. Thanks for the product information and great review.
Hope she enjoys it!
Such an improvement they passed V12 V13 and V14
Can’t wait for the V23 coming out next!
Lmao no that’s not how it goes it’s the motor name that’s why it’s v15 the other motors numbers are in other products
There's actually a V12 detect slim, but it seems like not available in the US
A V13 will never be available as 13 is associated with bad luck here in the UK and Dyson has never had a model with 13 in it.

Same here. I always had a $100 budget for a vacuum until I tried a Dyson. It changed my life, I can’t go back
How is this compared to shark stratos ?
I'm glad it worked out for you!
Video idea: buy some of the knockoff replacement filters for the V10-V11 on Amazon and see if they pass your filter test, or if you’re better off buying the Dyson part.
As always, great vid.
You need to do a review of how to clean or empty the vacuums. I would be interested and seeing them.
Fantastic review, as always. Would love to see you add car cleaning to your standard review methodology. I have no idea which of the many attachments that came with my V11 Torque to use for optimal car cleaning.

Dyson has a version of the v15 detect called the detect+ on their website. It has a filter that can trap dirt up to 0.1 microns. Check it out. It might destroy the competition on ur micron particle test
