Nine years. Still returning to this video every once and a while. I even worked it out on the piano, which I never thought id ever know how to do anything on an instrument. But nostalgia is truly inspiring.
This brings a tear to my eye, remembering all the friends I used to play Minecraft with. Now we've all gone our seperate ways, and I will never have those days back. I now realize why my mother said I should not want to get out of my childhood.

best Minecraft song ever, better then "new world" or "revenge" cause it shoes emotion, not just cool animations. This video has not as good animations, but has a better beat and feeling to it.

the only complaint that i have is the game got too popular and so much is known there is no more mystery or horror or creepiness to the game like a sense of discovery is taken away because you already know whats out there thats why i liked the secret friday updates and herobrine

i remember being too scared to enter a cave for a whole month that i only had wood tools that whole time. Those were the days.
Unfortunately that's not something that anyone can go back to. And it has nothing to do with its popularity. It was scary because it was new! We didn't know a lot about how it worked. We were kids. Over time, we just grew up and understood it better. And as a result... that mystery is gone. We can't go back to that anymore. So instead of feeling sad about it, cherish the fact that it happened at all. It's a great experience to have, and let's be happy that we got to have it.

I just recently started playing on my very first original mc world a few days ago, transfered it from mc java to, bedrock and now, Im building again.
The nostalgia is so real. This and other Minecraft songs were part of what made me want the game back in 2012. So many great memories playing with friends and family. Things have changed so much since then and not all for the better but I still love this song.
I had to dig into my liked videos to see this again but I remember it so fondly and needed a pick me up. It's just so full of wonder and good things. Thank you to whoever made this.

1:50 is when almost 8 years of memories and nostalgia kicked in. I don't think I'll ever be able to say how much of an impact this game has had on me, but I'm glad I found it all those years ago :)

Insane to believe this came out 11 years ago. So much has changed in the actual universe of minecraft. I have been coming back to this video or been trying to search for this multiple times over the years. Fresh out of the Police Academy this past week and turned on minecraft on the old java. really took me by awe, I should've cherished it a lot more. I do miss it.

I remember sitting down with a large grin across my face, my 6th grade self fanboying about my favorite game-Minecraft. I didn't have the opportunity to play with many friends but I still got so much enjoyment from this cube game, now that I've quit this game and look back at this video I shed a tear because of the emotional impact it has had on me

Too many people look at small things and don't admire the true beauty of the song, i myself think this song is amazing and shows how awesome some peoples imaginations are. Listening to this song with my eyes closed lets me imagine i am in a beautiful place and lets me feel my body's energy flow along with the tone and feel of the song. This is one of the most calming minecraft songs i have heard. I am buying it on itunes and letting my mind flow to it all day long. Good job, and enjoy life.
My minecraft nostalgia is so strong not just because of how good the community used to be, but because my feelings of nostalgia vaguelu mimic the sense of wonder and awe I used to have.

I think I actually left a comment here from that time but I don't wanna search through 6k comments lol. It was such an amazing time, being a little kid, not having worries in the world and playing minecraft at every opportunity I got :) I will forever miss those days. Ive been playing minecraft since the early beta versions too and I saw this video a long time ago, every time I come back to it it reminds me of my old experiences of minecraft. Some of my early worlds and servers I played on having so much fun. I still have fun playing minecraft but I miss my worlds and servers that got shutdown, and just look how green the grass was :D.
I dont like the new minecraft, I realize they have to add new things but i miss the old versoins, I know you can switch back there in the new launcher but its not the same for some reason.

It's just something about change, how it's always a good thing and you get caught up in all the new things, but then, you turn around and see all the things that you had loved before, and it's just sad seeing how far you've come.
When and where did minecraft loose it's charm. I still play it but when I first had it I was like 'this is amazing' but now it's like meh
It's because it's not a new experience for you. The beginning when you first played it was special. People seem to blame the updates, but it's just because it's not a new experience like it was back then.

There was a chart I saw somewhere depicting this, where there are three main groups of fans.
-The original members who adapted to the game, and don't want it to change that much. This is the silent majority for the first few years of development.
-The casual gamers, the crowd that just doesn't care what happens. This is the bulk of the community.
-The newer members, who never experienced the older versions, and always want new content added. This is the vocal minority.
Somewhere between 2011 and 2012, the vocal minority outnumbered the vocal majority. Doing so caused the devs to hear ideas like more features for server plugins and multiplayer features, instead of fixing stuff (LIKE THE GOD DAMN MOTHER FUCKING BOATS THAT HAVE BEEN SHIT SINCE THEY CAME IN THE GAME), or adding exploration/building features. It's why we can't play the game without a LAN server, and why no SMP servers exist. The youtubers also caused this. Name me 5 youtubers with over 1 million subscriptions that have an SMP series that is going on today, or has been going on in the past year. It's difficult, because all they do is play server games, instead of playing minecraft for what the title says. It's a mix of all of these variables, and there is nothing that will happen to stop it. It's happening to KSP, is going to happen to DayZ (if it hasn't already), and will for all games that are still being worked on. Shit's sad. and then there are the fucking annoying fans who won't shut teh fuck up about the game because they haven't developed any social skills because they are too busy playing spleef or CTF on a shitty server with only 50 people at most. The fan bases over hype the hell out of everything to the point that they literally draw pictures of steve raping mobs and call it original content. It's why there will never be a creepy pasta that is creepy again, and shows like Sherlock and Dr. Who hurts to watch now, because that fanfic of Sherlock fisting Watson's salad is still in the back of my mind.

You said it. When 1.3 came the game wasnt fun anymore. I loved to fear the night with my friends and do adventuremaps like the old kurast and shipwrecked. Its a shame cuz alot of people hate this game now and think its for losers. It lost its old community
