and what you are saying means that you are giving people the tools to express their anger ASSERTIVLY.
Most people, myself including have no idea how to do that and to approach it directly is scary and it is a big vulnerable leap, it means getting out of your comfort zone and telling someone how it is that you are mad by a comment they made and it hurt your feelings. I mean i know i have feelings and most people in my family are uncomfortable to sit with me and talk about how i feel, they might tell me how they feel and so much so my own voice gets drowned out and i dont get the chance to express openly what i do feel because i feel its minimised or not important and i should be thinking in a different way, and the choices i make for myself are always wrong and i should be thinking like everyone else (therefore i do feel ganged up on) so no one takes the time to really listen to me and sometimes if i try and bring something up its... oh no we're not talking about that or, you mom was only trying to... or, your problem is... my family dont listen to me and i know that, they are supposed to be the ones who love and care for me - they always want me to look at myself and change to their standards but no one will admit to being wrong and i suffer with aggression, i sometimes fall into tears - so i probably could benefit from seeing a therapist but i doubt any of my family would go because they dont see themselves as a problem or something that needs to be addressed. Seriously, im always explained how im in the wrong.

Hi. dealing with a dysfunctional family of origin is a life long task... working on fixing your own psycho-emotional-social dysfunction is the first step (I believe this very firmly) .... I am from a very crazy dysfunctional family.... personal therapy, self-help book therapy as well as listening to youtube videos made by true mental-health professionals have all helped me..... some of the resouces I use are on my personal google page...

This is so helpful. Thank you! I have a friend who likes to remind me that “when you’re angry it means you’re not smart enough to concur your emotions” I was like, “whaaaaaat?!” “Are you stupid?” Lol 😂

do you know that when a guy blows his top and perhaps lashes out people think - hes angry. On the other hand, when women get angry and perhaps hit out people tend to think shes out of control. Our society today allows free outlets for men to be have as aggressivly as they want but it is frowned upon, thought as bad, wrong and parents enforce this on children particulary women and men seam to be the exeption when they are angry? They see angry women as out of control...
