Great review Roy. Ive just purchased the mini fumpa and did my own tests and had similar results to yourself, test 1: 4 road bike tyres to 100psi, and test 2: 3 MTB 29 inch tyres to 40psi. I know these are a little pricy, but you are correct in describing it as the Rolls Royce of mini electric pumps, so you are paying for a quality bit of kit. I did initially buy it as a bit of a novelty, but so far im really amazed at just how good it is.
I have the mini Fumpa for over a year now, the best electric pump for my commute to work and will purchase the nano Fumpa as well for my weekend club rides. Highly recommended
Hello Roy - Your reviews are spot on and I purchased the pump and tire gauge. No discount code available when purchasing from the US, but that's ok. A belated thank you for your past review on the tyre glider. As we all age, our hand strength is not what it use to be. I very much appreciate your recommendations that makes life easier in a pinch. Have a terrific summer and look forward to your future videos. Cheers mate!
Thank you - that’s the nicest comment I’ve ever had from an accountant 😀 The discount code should have worked but it’s only on the mini model I reviewed. I also understood it was on the tire gauge but they say the margins on the Nano and Gauge are too tight due to high costs. I wish you a super summer too, and thanks again.
@@RideWithRoy My cost benefit analysis is - You have a nice dinner out with a companion which cost GBP 100. If everything goes well, you may even get lucky. Buy the pump, you have a companion for a life time. :D Cheers.
Looks like a great pump👍Have looked at some others but seems there’s a heat issue with most of them🤔Fumpa seemed to have overcome the problem with their design👍very informative Roy, thanks for the “heads up”😊
I always believe in paying for quality, would sooner pay double for something that lasts than half the price and it breaks after a few uses, you used it on my bike on the ride to the woods, and it worked well after I must have got a puncture in my tubeless rear tyre, and lost too much air
Yes, that was the first time I used it for real, Michael. As you will have realised, I tested it for a long time before making the review. On another occasion I came to the rescue with both the Tyre Glider and the Fumpa, so a double whammy 😀
Thanks for the review, Roy. I bought the large Fumpa Pump last year as I ride a Semi-Fat MTB (27.5" x 3" tyres) and was ridiculed by my friends when we set out on the King Alfred Way tour as they asked "What's wrong with a normal pump?"... The Fumpa was used on several occasions for my friends needs - all of them favouring using the Fumpa over their mini hand pumps. Many have now bought one having been very sceptical at the start. I have also been told that CO2 canisters can cause problems with latex on tubeless tyres, whereas the Fumpa would not have the same 'freezing' effect of the CO2? Worth noting that the connection to the valve head can get very hot - the body of the pump does not. This may affect those using TPU / Tubilito style inner tubes.
Thanks for that great info, Gareth. In the additional tests video I linked at the end I did mention the hot nozzle as I hadn’t noticed it until later. Good point on tubeless as well. Some brands of sealant aren’t CO2 friendly.

A bit sweeping to say ‘absolute rubbish’ Keith. The one thing it isn’t is ‘absolute.’ It very much depends on the country, airline, size and amount. Most people can get away with taking a couple of small ones in the hold baggage. Unless going to some remote outpost, probably easier to buy supplies at the destination.
Good morning Roy, A thorough review of both items and the pros and cons of other inflation devices. The fumpa pump and pressure gauge are two items I will be purchasing. The last item from your excellent reviews on your channel......and I still have was the tyre glider 👍.....so from a wintery Morpeth Northumberland Roy, all the best for 2024......and keep up those excellent in depth reviews. 👋
@RideWithRoy Hi Roy, as much as I do like a cold , dry snap of winter weather I do very much like the sun on my back when out in the Northumberland countryside! 🙂. The etap Caledonia awaits me in May then a 70.3 triathlon in Paguera, Mallorca in October. Happy cycling Roy.......I'll be viewing from afar. Best regards, Graham.🍻
@@grahambell9831 me too. They sound some great trips. Wendy has just returned from her ‘winter training’ in mainland Spain and I am envious of the good weather they’ve had. We are looking at the possibility of a coastal ride down from Edinburgh this year, so may well see you 😀
@RideWithRoy I'm envious too Roy! 🙂. I often take an April or May week trip to Torrevieja. Its a cycling hidden gem. Check out the Hondon de Fraile climb on the Internet. It's my favourite training climb 😍. If its the coast and castles route? ( sustrans) you are in for a treat Roy. The coastline in the borders and Northumberland is just superb, another gem! You never know Roy, if our paths cross, I'll be buying you a cake & coffee. If your plan takes it in, check out the ice cream shop at Bamburgh......the jolly fisherman pub at Craster.....the Drift Cafe at Druridge Bay 👍.......and further down the coast (and slightly inland) the Running Fox at Felton 👍. Have a great weekend!
A good review. I'm more interested in the gauge than the pump but they are sold out - probably as a result of your review so I hope you are suitably rewarded!
Great video Roy, one thing,if you ride with Tpu or latex tubes they recommend a adapter because of the heat build up, won’t affect everyone but it will me.keep up the good work
Redshift Shockstop. If you look in the description there is a 15% discount code for all Redshift products. I’ve also started testing the Pro version. Lighter but with less travel, so ideal for road bikes. I’ll be reviewing that in the coming weeks.
I like the look (and functions) of that gauge Roy. had a look at the site (in Oz)... A$49.... which is about ¥4,700. checked the price in Japan: ¥7,900 !!! as for the pumps.... hair-raising prices! well.... if I had any hair they would be. very thorough review and test Roy (of course!). not to mention alliterative: Ride with Roy Recommends the Rolls Royce of Reinflation Rescue devices.
But I expected you to be a ‘know the pressure by feel’ sort of person 😀 I’ve just been told the gauges are out of stock for the UK. I hope that’s down to me 😂
Hi, Pete. The bars are the Kitchen Sink by Redshift model and I introduce there here Redshift’s Radical New Gravel bars to Test and Why I Chose V1 of the Wahoo Roam ruclips.net/video/KrteDIq7oCM/видео.html I am so used to them now that I find the standard bars on my Ribble uncomfortable. If you decide to buy some there is a discount code.
@@PeteGibbo it’s one I have negotiated with Redshift and the channel gets a small commission from them. They use Amazon for their UK shipping so delivery is very good. I also highly recommend their own bar tape as it’s great quality and the correct length.
I am just wondering, if you can seat the tubeless tire with this little one, if so it would be actually really strong argument to buy one. Very good and interesting video as always thumbs up.
I experimented with it on a badly seating tyre and the mini Fumpa didn’t help at all. This is one occasion where Co2 would have popped it on instantly. I now use Schwalbe G-One Allround tyres that have Tubeless Easy Technology which enables fitting with a standard track pump or the Fumpa. Hopefully this tech will spread to other tubeless brands.
If the battery dies on the fumpa during a trip, can you get it to run by plugging it into an external battery like say one that would be used to externally charge or power a cell phone?
Good point! I've been meaning to mention that. It's this one amzn.to/3X7nOUJ I didn't have confidence in the Garmin band on one so purchased this one. I've been very pleased with it as it's secure, easy to fit and the angle is just right.

Unfortunately I cannot offer a discount on the Gauge or the other products at the moment. Things are a bit tight. If the discount is popular we may look to extend the offer.
