Sheep Herding and Farm Tour in Ireland

We went to Killary Sheep Farm for a sheep dog demonstration, sheep shearing, and we even got to feed the lambs! The shepherd's interaction with the dog was incredible, as he gathered the sheep from the mountainside. This was one of our favorite things we've done since traveling. It was a close view of a profession that is fading away, as the economics make less and less sense. Tourism pays the bills more than the ship do.
The location was just as stunning. Here in the Northwest of Ireland, the hills and low mountains are predominantly grass covered. The farm overlooks a long ocean inlet below, where there are boat tours and shellfish farms. It was one of the frequently misty, rainy days during our visit, and we wouldn't have had it any other way.
