The second you entered the Netherlands the road quality was perfect
In my honest opinion (and I do not mean it in a hateful way) I find Belgium so incredibly depressing to drive through. Maybe it is the lack of trees by the road, the dark houses, the colors of the road and/or infrastructure. Look even at the differences in color at the roundabouts and junctions between Belgium and The Netherlands. It feels as if Belgian infrastructure is de-humanizing or something. The Netherlands looks much fresher, more well kept and generally like a happier/better place. It is literally just a feeling as a Dutchie. I also love several places in Belgium a lot, so I don't have anything against the country. It is just a feeling that I cannot describe completely. But I think that infrastructure has so much influence on the soul of a society. Again not meant in a hateful way, because Belgians can have their opinions on The Netherlands as well of course.

@@rboer1000 Wallonia uses alot of French influences in their public spaces and in road constuction. The french generally use a very limited and universally applied pallet of colours, materials and designs. Flanders uses more variation as its a mix between the old Belgian standards, Germany, spiced with a bit of Dutch and British influences.

It for sure is a big difference between Belgium and the Netherlands.
Amazing how smooth the dutch roads are. You can literally hear the difference the second you cross the border.

Great video! I've never been to Belgium or Netherlands. Its seems that the belgium cities are 'twins', one city looks like exactly the others. But they are all beautiful and clean cities.
If you think Belgian cities/towns are clean... wait until you see Dutch towns.
They are very similar, though I must admit Belgium has more of those old buildings / city centers.
Holland 🇳🇱 is cleaner, tidier, and with better infrastructure.

As soon as the electricity cables go underground, you're in the Netherlands 😂
I absolutely love these travel videos with ambience, but the only problem that I face is the wind noise. Maybe mic inside the car might be a better option in my opinion and sure will add to the ambience I believe.

It's funny to see me driving at 1:50:11 . Video must be at least a few years old . Some buildingprojects I recognise are finnished and inhabited now . By the way , Rodenrijt is a street in the town of Achel , just before you crossed the Dutch border . It runs parallel with the main road

The end of the trip in NOT in Eindhoven. It is in Aalst. Eindhoven is 500 meter away at the northside of the A2/A67.

And somewhere inmidst the flushing meadows of Bassenge et Val-Mer you are getting from the French speaking Valonia to the Dutch speaking Flanders. There isn't much of a change, to be honest.
Specifically, at 16:36 you can see a sign that says "De Limburgers heten u welkom" -- "The Limburgers welcome you " in Dutch.

@@Guillaume2606Not correct, it has to do with the Schengen agreement. Most EU and non EU (Switzerland, Norway, Iceland for example)countries are part of it. But countries like Romania or Bulgaria not, and those are EU countries. Maybe there are some more... But google it.

If somebody asked me to explain Belgium in one word, I would say "a brick" :) All in all nice video :)
That would apply more to the Netherlands, where they use bricks everywhere. While in the south and east of Belgium much more natural stone is used.

@@jsb7975 Actually near the coast the bricks are mostly ochre coloured (more sand instead of clay I think).
@@flitsertheo ah yes and very old houses and churches in flanders also used to be build with ironstone, with a rusty colour.
The Dutch side seems quite bland and empty, but otherwise reasonably well maintained.

The ONLY advantage of Belgium is that the petrol is cheaper than in The Netherlands!
