it's baffling to me that his first ult doesnt have timestop, but even ayla, a free amplifier, has timestop on the activation of her ult, which doesnt even do much damage. it's so strange they only put the timestop on his second ult, meanwhile everyone else got two (i think). maybe their idea was that they didnt want to break the fire team because, at the time of his release in CN, fire was the only team with 3 characters who had time stop, but idk... seems unfair. i will still pull him though
Kuro removed his timestop in his 1st ult because they feared he could break PPC. Other gen 2 attackers are like: 1st ult->5-6s->2nd ult. Hyperreal is like: 1st ult->0.5s->2nd ult. According to the beta testers, that was way too broken so they took it off, it still sounds unfair tho, other attackers can ult 2s after with the right investiment, it sounds like bias towards Lee tbh
But like didnt they say and lee as well say that thus frame hasn't reached its full potential so wouldnt that mean he would probably get a new frame later on or nah because yh know the bias towards the male constructs
His design is the sole reason I went for him, and his damage is a massive plus as well. He doesn't need to be the best at damage imo but be great enough that I want to use him. What really matters for me is a character's visual presentation and the consistency of design choices that allow for unique and fun gameplay. Lee's definitely has some of the coolest animations in the game for me so that's my main reason for pulling him. Watanabe may have outdps'ed him but Lee's gameplay drip is still top tier.
I love the lightshow moveset where it gives epileptic seizures while looking cool as hell, I don't think any other character gives you as much of a dopamine dump as hyperreal does - maybe crimson weave
Before hyperreal i used max leap palefire sss+ bc that was my only/best fire option. Now i use palefire with hyperreal so i can deal dmg when hyperreal is on cd.
Most F2P players don’t even stand a chance in competing with the P2W players, so you’re someone like me who likes meta but is F2P and always have second doubts before pulling for a character. Just pull for Lee if you like him, if you play the game with the characters you don’t like then it will just feel like a chore. I say prioritise fun over meta if you don’t plan on spending. (You can also just pull for the other characters in the future and imo won’t take that long especially if you still have story to clear)

Lee is still gonna be one of the best Fire attackers for a long, long while so he's still very much important. And besides, if Live Empyrea got a Leap but Nanami got powercrept, who's to say that Lee won't get a LEEP (sorry) upgrade himself in the future?
So far, only Capricio that get so many buff in her skill from all the history of PGR character, and now she'll get her leap too after Teddy's patch... I just hope that they'll also gives Lee this chance too, it seems like they feel reluctant to buff male character on this game, while always giving the best preferential treatment for female characters...
@@gnuhgnauqneyugn he probably meant her previous leaps. Capriccio has gotten _two_ leaps now, another one in the future. Mostly QoL for her standard and ultimate orbs' targeting. The real buff is coming to Empyrea though. In Teddy's patch (after Ice Qu's) she's getting orb sorting, faster ultimate, more orbs during rotations, basically bringing her up to par with other modern gen 2 characters. Which is why it's funny that she still remains a background character. You use Uncle like 70% of the time, Lee 30% of the time, and you maaaaybe switch to Empyrea in very niche situations, like when you already spent the orbs of both Lee and Uncle, there's 3 seconds left in Warzone, and Empyrea's available. Maybe. So yeah, don't skip Lee lol.

and those numbers go up to 5147% and 3294%, but his damage is not why they call him bad. they do that because his ult isn't spammable like cw, lamia, balter n qu + has no time stop on his first ult

I've got ALL the constructs and I've been a light spender, using the monthly and one of the battle passes. I have a bunch of cards saved so I'm GETTING the true firegod. I saw his frame in the live stream it was teased in and was one of the bois who LOVED him since the beginning. He's a homie and homies deserve respect.
This man, along with Lucia CW and Bianca Stigmata is what made me return to PGR after quitting for awhile lol. Absolutely fell inlove with his gameplay so of course I'm getting him
If you're starting today, you still have enough time to SSS+ chrome arclight, doing so allows him to do 30% shred which is honestly great for an A rank, so if you're missing empy, and garnet, this is something you should consider.
I don't even try to understand whose dmg does better than who. I only learn their tricks to play and figure out which i feel most comfortable to play with. And as someone who has balter, i didn't feel that. Thankfully, i felt that with Lee hyperreal. ❤

He is the worst Gen 2 attacker by damage numbers, number of timestops, etc. That's objective, it's facts found not by opinion but by running calculations. But he's still a Gen 2 attacker which means he's still incredibly strong, and still better than any other fire attacker that exists. In any group, somebody has to be the weakest. That doesn't mean they're weak compared to everything else, only that they're weak compared to their group. It's like fighting the weakest black belt at any given dojo. He'll still kick your ass, he's just not as good as all the other black belts.

'Cause as we've seen with just HyperLee some people see that statement and read it is "oh, so X is bad". Now this is the fault of the latter for reading it as such but it tends to bleed over into the more innocent group who'll hear the second incorrect statement and believe it.

I'm definitely rolling for him and his signature weapon since it will make fire WZ about 5x more enjoyable than using Pulse to stall for Empyrea and Starfarer. If Hestia somehow appears in my weapon banner rolls, it is perfectly fine.

Just got my S5 Hyperreal (not enough scars to go SS yet lol), his sign weapon, and his CUB with my SS Nanamech, even without Empyrea, my fire warzone score increased significantly so I have no regret lol can't wait for the next S rank selector to complete my fire team.

Im playing until Alpha alter anyway so this guy is on my list. Not many frames are as stylish as Lee Hyperreal. Now if only the game put more emphasis on style instead of silly scores... oh well.
@@quasogod Cause it's just not fucking fun to play optimally?? Playing Alpha CW optimally is just ult spam, playing her stylishly requires you to not ult spam which is the fun way to play her. Same with Lee Hyperreal where some of the most stylish gameplay with him requires sacrificing his first ult's charges. Like come tf on. Also whales will spend even if it's not necessary for meta, look at the Hoyoverse playerbase, they spend money for C6 characters on Genshin despite the fact that you can beat Sprial Abyss 36 stars as a F2P with C0R0 5 stars and C6 4 stars. Same with HSR and ZZZ. Whales don't spend with logic, that's dolphins and low spenders you're talking about. Getting to compete on leaderboards is just a bonus for whales, and it's not like adding a style based system requires them to remove the damage based gamemodes. They could just make it a separate gamemode where casual F2P's, hardcore F2P's and P2W's can all compete with one another on equal ground.
My mind has changed when I pulled him for 30 rolls and he comes to me. Also got his sig weapon in 17 rolls and now I’m still grinding for more 5 rolls to reach his CUB. First time I got him, I exchanged 4 Turing and 2 Cottie and he can solo Fire Warzone to reached 800k points with only 3 lv.45 Turing. That’s too far from my S chainsaw Nanami. It comes from 386k to 800k easily and I see this is a big W for me even he is the worst gen 2.

Ah, so this is why Empyrea showed up on the Arrival Construct banner, which goes a week into Lee's release. This is some really strong bait for someone like me who really only has an ice team from starting a couple weeks ago. Looks like I'll just sit until Feb for the Alpha/Vira-Garnet combo. I think I risk too much dumping my BCs into trying to get both Empyrea and Lee
I think you can replace Vera Garnet with Chrome Arclight with little difference since they both act as QTE bots. That way, you can get Hyperreal now, and use the CW selector to get Empyrea. Empyrea is essential sub-dps for fire team, Garnet is non-essential QTE shred that can be replaced by Arclight pretty much indefinitely until you get Garnet.
i've always thought that pgr is about expanding rosters and main dps = whose play style you enjoy the most so when i see ppl keep commenting "skip hyperreal" i was like "??? okay then have fun malding with gen 1 attackers ig 😭" i really don't understand their problem but oh well, they can skip and mald while my fire wz scores are at an all-time high

5:05 I'm not too certain on the specifics of the meta, but doesn't Garnet merely serve as the QTE bot for CW since CW has nearly 100% field time? By that logic, can't Arclight fill the same role? Yep. From videos I've seen, for optimal play both Garnet and S No. 21 are simply QTE bots for CW. She dominates field time and switching off her seems like a for fun thing only as it's a damage loss.
As a dedicated Lee fan, since the very start of global, who is maxing out his original version to the best of my abilities as an f2p, i will love and cherish Hyperreal no matter what people think about him. i just got liv emp from the s selector from the wonderful spring gift (i think its called that) and FINALLLYYY, now i can think about whether to wait for wata or to choose pulse from the starter s selector which i dont want to do... plus saving up for lee (not beginnerrr)

I'm a new player and just started, so I was thinking skiping Lee because I played Honkai Impact 3 before and it was important there to have at least 1 full team so you can bruteforce content and I don't have any good fire units now, so I was really suprised when people said I should NEVER skip Lee. But I got Garnet from my 40 pity and budget Dark team to help me clear content and waiting for Crimson and Lamia (my beloved), so I'm gonna save my funds c:
Never skip Lee. He is one of the few units who can brute force content without his specific element team. Him and Alpha Crimson Weave are the only two coming out soon that can run fine with out-of-team characters and still be meta.

@@semechka6407 yeah this Lee is just that good, he can hypercarry without Nanami Starfarer or Liv Empyrea and still do better than the old fire meta team(Nanami Pulse, Karenina Ember and Lee Palefire/Sophia). You can run Lee Hyperreal + Ayla Brilliance/Rosetta Rigor with 4 shakespear/2 gloria memory set + any A rank support unit/SSS amplifier unit. And that can substitute for the lack of either of the fire tank Nanamis(pulse and starfarer) and for the lack of Liv Empyrea, until you can get them at least.

You should make a video about who of the upcoming characters to prioritize to SS with paincage skulls, since it is not posible to get the needed skulls for every new S rank in its debut.
I'm still pulling him for a number of reasons 1- I enjoy his playstyle because it's fun and nice to watch 2- He has a (free) coating in the shop that is a reference to the Hunter from Bloodborne (I literally have a Bloodborne tattoo) 3- The frame that made me like Lee, I enjoyed him before, bur this made him a favourite (along with 21, Alpha and Vera) 4- That battle end animation is genuinely pretty 5- I'm getting Liv Emperya from the S rank selector (why not Vera? I have her at SS already) (Also realizing the Bloodborne skin was mentioned in the video)

Is he even really that weak if all the content in the game is kind of either catered to specific elements/conditions or is just not so hard that you would care if the character is overpowered? Like - you'll never see Bianca outdamage Lee in a fire Warzone/PPC (unless she's hyperinvested ig) and you probably won't care if he's overpowered or not in any rogue-like modes (For example. You can put any other event mode here too). I guess maybe the only exception is Babel but 1 - it's not even around that long; and 2 - you don't even actually need to get that high of a level to get all the ACTUAL rewards. Not saying that the video is bad or that the information is useless because it's still good to know how units stack up against each other but I just personally feel like any new character is worth pulling, especially if you're a new player, because all new units end up stronger than whatever they're replacing + the game gives you enough BC to get all new characters so there's literally no excuse... ASSUMING THAT WE'RE BEING OBJECTIVE OF COURSE lul. If someone wants a weapon, cub or gacha skin for someone else which is, again, OBJECTIVELY SPEAKING not optimal as a F2P but I get liking certain characters to want to invest more into them, then I can understand skipping someone for the sake of that but any other reason I just don't get. Greetings. I request your thorough explanation about your judgement criteria about the skip index you mention at this vid. Especially the nanami/liv part. Starting from 6:21. Pgr is a game where you need all elements team and getting that 15k bc frim skip will never give you enough reward that would outperform skipping. "skip fire team if you don't have another parts alr" is totally an antithesis to what PGR is about.

it's baffling to me that his first ult doesnt have timestop, but even ayla, a free amplifier, has timestop on the activation of her ult, which doesnt even do much damage. it's so strange they only put the timestop on his second ult, meanwhile everyone else got two (i think). maybe their idea was that they didnt want to break the fire team because, at the time of his release in CN, fire was the only team with 3 characters who had time stop, but idk... seems unfair. i will still pull him though

Kuro removed his timestop in his 1st ult because they feared he could break PPC.
Other gen 2 attackers are like: 1st ult->5-6s->2nd ult.
Hyperreal is like: 1st ult->0.5s->2nd ult.
According to the beta testers, that was way too broken so they took it off, it still sounds unfair tho, other attackers can ult 2s after with the right investiment, it sounds like bias towards Lee tbh
But like didnt they say and lee as well say that thus frame hasn't reached its full potential so wouldnt that mean he would probably get a new frame later on or nah because yh know the bias towards the male constructs

His design is the sole reason I went for him, and his damage is a massive plus as well. He doesn't need to be the best at damage imo but be great enough that I want to use him.
What really matters for me is a character's visual presentation and the consistency of design choices that allow for unique and fun gameplay.
Lee's definitely has some of the coolest animations in the game for me so that's my main reason for pulling him.
Watanabe may have outdps'ed him but Lee's gameplay drip is still top tier.

Before hyperreal i used max leap palefire sss+ bc that was my only/best fire option. Now i use palefire with hyperreal so i can deal dmg when hyperreal is on cd.

Most F2P players don’t even stand a chance in competing with the P2W players, so you’re someone like me who likes meta but is F2P and always have second doubts before pulling for a character. Just pull for Lee if you like him, if you play the game with the characters you don’t like then it will just feel like a chore. I say prioritise fun over meta if you don’t plan on spending. (You can also just pull for the other characters in the future and imo won’t take that long especially if you still have story to clear)

@@gnuhgnauqneyugn he probably meant her previous leaps. Capriccio has gotten _two_ leaps now, another one in the future. Mostly QoL for her standard and ultimate orbs' targeting. The real buff is coming to Empyrea though. In Teddy's patch (after Ice Qu's) she's getting orb sorting, faster ultimate, more orbs during rotations, basically bringing her up to par with other modern gen 2 characters.
Which is why it's funny that she still remains a background character. You use Uncle like 70% of the time, Lee 30% of the time, and you maaaaybe switch to Empyrea in very niche situations, like when you already spent the orbs of both Lee and Uncle, there's 3 seconds left in Warzone, and Empyrea's available. Maybe. So yeah, don't skip Lee lol.

I've got ALL the constructs and I've been a light spender, using the monthly and one of the battle passes. I have a bunch of cards saved so I'm GETTING the true firegod. I saw his frame in the live stream it was teased in and was one of the bois who LOVED him since the beginning. He's a homie and homies deserve respect.
This man, along with Lucia CW and Bianca Stigmata is what made me return to PGR after quitting for awhile lol. Absolutely fell inlove with his gameplay so of course I'm getting him

Even though he may be weaker than his other gen 2 attacker counterparts, I'd still pull for him anyways to reunite the Gray Raven squad.
If you're starting today, you still have enough time to SSS+ chrome arclight, doing so allows him to do 30% shred which is honestly great for an A rank, so if you're missing empy, and garnet, this is something you should consider.

He is the worst Gen 2 attacker by damage numbers, number of timestops, etc. That's objective, it's facts found not by opinion but by running calculations.
But he's still a Gen 2 attacker which means he's still incredibly strong, and still better than any other fire attacker that exists.
In any group, somebody has to be the weakest. That doesn't mean they're weak compared to everything else, only that they're weak compared to their group. It's like fighting the weakest black belt at any given dojo. He'll still kick your ass, he's just not as good as all the other black belts.

Just got my S5 Hyperreal (not enough scars to go SS yet lol), his sign weapon, and his CUB with my SS Nanamech, even without Empyrea, my fire warzone score increased significantly so I have no regret lol can't wait for the next S rank selector to complete my fire team.

@@quasogod Cause it's just not fucking fun to play optimally?? Playing Alpha CW optimally is just ult spam, playing her stylishly requires you to not ult spam which is the fun way to play her. Same with Lee Hyperreal where some of the most stylish gameplay with him requires sacrificing his first ult's charges. Like come tf on. Also whales will spend even if it's not necessary for meta, look at the Hoyoverse playerbase, they spend money for C6 characters on Genshin despite the fact that you can beat Sprial Abyss 36 stars as a F2P with C0R0 5 stars and C6 4 stars. Same with HSR and ZZZ. Whales don't spend with logic, that's dolphins and low spenders you're talking about. Getting to compete on leaderboards is just a bonus for whales, and it's not like adding a style based system requires them to remove the damage based gamemodes. They could just make it a separate gamemode where casual F2P's, hardcore F2P's and P2W's can all compete with one another on equal ground.
My mind has changed when I pulled him for 30 rolls and he comes to me. Also got his sig weapon in 17 rolls and now I’m still grinding for more 5 rolls to reach his CUB. First time I got him, I exchanged 4 Turing and 2 Cottie and he can solo Fire Warzone to reached 800k points with only 3 lv.45 Turing. That’s too far from my S chainsaw Nanami. It comes from 386k to 800k easily and I see this is a big W for me even he is the worst gen 2.

Ah, so this is why Empyrea showed up on the Arrival Construct banner, which goes a week into Lee's release. This is some really strong bait for someone like me who really only has an ice team from starting a couple weeks ago. Looks like I'll just sit until Feb for the Alpha/Vira-Garnet combo. I think I risk too much dumping my BCs into trying to get both Empyrea and Lee
Yep for new player better get one element teams first and for you its alpha
I think you can replace Vera Garnet with Chrome Arclight with little difference since they both act as QTE bots. That way, you can get Hyperreal now, and use the CW selector to get Empyrea. Empyrea is essential sub-dps for fire team, Garnet is non-essential QTE shred that can be replaced by Arclight pretty much indefinitely until you get Garnet.
Empyrea will be free in CW patch!!!

Yep. From videos I've seen, for optimal play both Garnet and S No. 21 are simply QTE bots for CW. She dominates field time and switching off her seems like a for fun thing only as it's a damage loss.

I'm a new player and just started, so I was thinking skiping Lee because I played Honkai Impact 3 before and it was important there to have at least 1 full team so you can bruteforce content and I don't have any good fire units now, so I was really suprised when people said I should NEVER skip Lee. But I got Garnet from my 40 pity and budget Dark team to help me clear content and waiting for Crimson and Lamia (my beloved), so I'm gonna save my funds c:
Never skip Lee. He is one of the few units who can brute force content without his specific element team. Him and Alpha Crimson Weave are the only two coming out soon that can run fine with out-of-team characters and still be meta.

@@semechka6407 yeah this Lee is just that good, he can hypercarry without Nanami Starfarer or Liv Empyrea and still do better than the old fire meta team(Nanami Pulse, Karenina Ember and Lee Palefire/Sophia). You can run Lee Hyperreal + Ayla Brilliance/Rosetta Rigor with 4 shakespear/2 gloria memory set + any A rank support unit/SSS amplifier unit. And that can substitute for the lack of either of the fire tank Nanamis(pulse and starfarer) and for the lack of Liv Empyrea, until you can get them at least.
If you get Lee now, you won't get full fire team but you will get half op fire team because you can get Empyrea for free in CW patch.

You should make a video about who of the upcoming characters to prioritize to SS with paincage skulls, since it is not posible to get the needed skulls for every new S rank in its debut.
i got hyperreal lee by accident by the free s rank for 40 pulls in the base gacha
I'm still pulling him for a number of reasons
1- I enjoy his playstyle because it's fun and nice to watch
2- He has a (free) coating in the shop that is a reference to the Hunter from Bloodborne (I literally have a Bloodborne tattoo)
3- The frame that made me like Lee, I enjoyed him before, bur this made him a favourite (along with 21, Alpha and Vera)
4- That battle end animation is genuinely pretty
5- I'm getting Liv Emperya from the S rank selector (why not Vera? I have her at SS already)
(Also realizing the Bloodborne skin was mentioned in the video)

Is he even really that weak if all the content in the game is kind of either catered to specific elements/conditions or is just not so hard that you would care if the character is overpowered? Like - you'll never see Bianca outdamage Lee in a fire Warzone/PPC (unless she's hyperinvested ig) and you probably won't care if he's overpowered or not in any rogue-like modes (For example. You can put any other event mode here too). I guess maybe the only exception is Babel but 1 - it's not even around that long; and 2 - you don't even actually need to get that high of a level to get all the ACTUAL rewards.
Not saying that the video is bad or that the information is useless because it's still good to know how units stack up against each other but I just personally feel like any new character is worth pulling, especially if you're a new player, because all new units end up stronger than whatever they're replacing + the game gives you enough BC to get all new characters so there's literally no excuse... ASSUMING THAT WE'RE BEING OBJECTIVE OF COURSE lul. If someone wants a weapon, cub or gacha skin for someone else which is, again, OBJECTIVELY SPEAKING not optimal as a F2P but I get liking certain characters to want to invest more into them, then I can understand skipping someone for the sake of that but any other reason I just don't get.

Pgr is a game where you need all elements team and getting that 15k bc frim skip will never give you enough reward that would outperform skipping.
"skip fire team if you don't have another parts alr" is totally an antithesis to what PGR is about.
Ice teams had to cope all the way until Qu, guess I can do the same until Uncle 😅

well you CAN get all constructs but all of them will be base S rank with 5 star weapon, and thats pretty ass
which is why people skip, and base S gameplay is ALSO pretty ass

I am definitely PULLING for Lee. I may not have both starfarer and empyrea but i can just completely forget about starfarer and pull for empyrea when the one time select rate up banner arrive.
That way I can still get full meta team with vera from selector for lightning and Empyrea and lee for fire hehe

I skipped Hyperreal, but this absolute menace forced himself into my roster when I was pulling for Noctis.
He can be the weakest Gen 2 Attacker but hes fun as fuck to play with.
I mean, I'm a relatively new player and i've already got him, plus he looks cool.
As someone who got Garnet off a lucky pull, and came back after a 2 year long hiatus, Lee Hyperreal looks like the coolest thing ever, so it's a win for me
