    I hire an Avant once a year on the farm to clear out a tight space in a silo pit we converted to sheep pens. It’s an absolute god send. The space is under 6 feet and and has delicate steel supports holding up the mesh floors and it just about the only thing that would get in there. Would take a week to do my hand and the avant does it in a few hours.

      Thanks Darran, hopefully it will prove the concept for me and save my back on a few jobs doing the heavy lifting

      Its funny, now I've got one, I've seen a few about! All with landscapers, and at the RHS garden shows they are everywhere! Mostly used as a glorified forklift but I'm hoping this one can sit on stockpiles and load dumpers so the digger can be busy elsewhere, fork materials around, and generally save my back a bit. Hopefully it proves the concept I have in my head and I can get a proper sized one!

    Great video Ollie, looks like you've got a quality machine there, looks like it's got the telescopic lifting arms. Even though I use Bobcat Skid Steers .... always interested in seeing alternatives. Look forward to seeing more videos especially it working for you 👍

      @Olliegunns  2 года назад +1

      Thanks Bob, yes the arm does tele out and that helps it get a surprising lift height. When I get the few little things sorted on it and get her out to site I'll let you know how I get on with it.

    Looks like a cool unit.
    I have 2003 Case 1825B with 1800 hrs, and a 2014 Yanmar Vio 35-6.

      I had a model Case skid steer as a kid, always fancied a skid steer but many of them are too heavy to tow over here where we are limited to 3.5t. These Avants have one of the best machine weight to lift capacity that I know of and hopefully it can do what I think it can.

    Hi Ollie, nice one 🙌🏻 Anything that saves the old back!
    Just put in an order for a JCB 19C-1 PC and 35d 4x4 Teletruk. Was really surprised at the price of the teletruk!
    Plan is to use it for general handling in the yard and maybe a bit of site dumper work. I’ve ordered a 0.8 CUM bucket so hoping the teletruk will be quite a flexible machine 😀
    All the best 👍🏻

      Nice, those teletrucks are really weapons, always happy to turn up to a merchants that run them over a mast forklift as they can load my trailer much better. Hope it works out for you - although I can imagine pricewise there isnt much between the teletruck and a small telehandler!

    I have a new 528 and a 760 and they are awesome machines…very flexible and the tools for it are more in quantity and selection than my wallet can afford. Enjoy, you cant go wrong…I have a leveling bucket, log grapple and forks, and the log grapple is amazing.

      I'm amazed at the amount of attachments for them! Some more ridiculous than others but there must be a demand for them if they make them. How do you find your 528 compared to the 760? I think 700 series is where I would love to be but for the money I couldn't turn down the opportunity to test the theory with this older machine

    • @henryoppermann134
      @henryoppermann134 2 года назад

      @@Olliegunns Frankly, the difference between units which is why I bought the 760, is lift height, and tipping load. When going downhill with a full bucket the 528 gets a bit tippy, and the other aspect is the power to stab the bucket into a wet pile of dirt. You can get it done with the 500, but it takes a bit of finesse. Hence the addition to my equipment pieces, but I will say this creates another challenge. Lift a piece on with a 500 onto a flat bed, the 760 will pull it off no problem, but, the reverse is obviously not true. Nothing a little planning or patience wont handle with ease. Have fun, its all good and enjoy the new kit. Cheers.

    Enjoying your channel Ollie, excellent stuff. Just in process of buying a 640 for the business, hence watching as many Avant videos as possible when stumbled on your channel. How are you getting on with the 520 and you got much use out of it? Any update videos in the offing? Also see you have a 4 in 1 bucket for sale, is it still going?

      Hi, I have recently sold my Avant actually, whilst it was a good machine for its size, I found it just didn't quite have the capacity I needed lift wise, and as a result, it didn't see the use I had hoped it would get. The idea of splitting pallets into half etc seemed a good idea at the time but the reality was quite different. Which is why I have the 4in1 bucket up for sale for it.
      Avant's are great little machines, and for their weight, I don't think there's anything to match them for lift power. Plus they work well as tool carriers too.

    Still got the Avant? I'm really looking forward to an update video on it

    • @Olliegunns
      @Olliegunns  Год назад

      I sold it late last year to fund the 3cx. Didn't end up filming anything with it sadly, but it did help me to realise I needed something with more lift capacity. Was a really handy thing to have around and whilst powerful for its size, it couldn't quite do what I needed it to do.
      I still use Avants from time to time on jobs, especially the RHS flower shows so will do a video on them when I can.

      You don't need anything yet! Land yourself a contract first and then work out what kit you need to do it! I didn't start with all these toys!

    hi, waht you think jcb 26 or volvo ecr 25d is a better machine

    • @Olliegunns
      @Olliegunns  2 года назад

      I dont think either one is really massively ahead of the other really. The Volvo is zero tailswing so a completely different animal to the 8026 which is 350kg heavier and has full counterweight! In short, the Volvos cab is brilliant but the JCB has more power and drives better - but neither is bad at what the other one is good at if that makes sense.

      Well yes, but nobody likes using a pallet truck - this has a seat and you cant put a price on comfort!
