    Nice rig. Don’t worry about what Ron does and doesn’t do. I built a trailer to match his first iteration “art” and after 3 years I completely remodeled it to work better for me. Everyone has a system. This to me sounds like exactly what you need if you move around a lot. I like Ron a lot but we all have to do what works well for us! Nice work!

    Anyone ordering a trailer needs to know that they will charge you exactly what you can buy aluminum wheels and radial tires for on the internet and have them sent to your house. Some are saying so what? The wheels and tires that were stock on the trailer, they keep those.
    Gain four spare wheels and tires and buy your own wheels and tires for the same money.
    It doesn't matter if you buy a trailer already made or custom order it, if you are going to upgrade, buy your own wheels, tires, stabilizer jacks, e track, extra lighting and all extra wiring, you will save money.
    Great trailer! Keep a close eye on it, thieves work hard to steal trailers and I have heard of crooks stealing a trailer buy using the safety chains to pull it. Criminals will go to great lengths to steal a working man's hard earned belongings, be careful and good luck!

    Hey thanks for sharing the trailer …. But i dont think most care about where things go or what time tools you have …. But how you came up with the build … how you decided where to put things … how your flow was set up to as to what kind of work you do …

      They held up really well so they made it 6 years driving around and I have a 2-mile long dirt driveway to my house. Unfortunately not related to the tool trailer my shop caught on fire and burnt the tool trailer up including all my tools over inside in the process of inventorying and going through it now hoping to post a video about it when I'm all wrapped up

    • @Nick-vs9tq
      @Nick-vs9tq  3 года назад +2

      It really didn't make a difference to me V-nose or flat what I did care about was the roof I didn't want a flat roof we get a lot of snow and I wanted it to all melt off so I wanted an arched roof for snow and for some additional Headroom and so you can't get an arched roof with a V-nose. From my dealer anyway. Thanks for the question.

    How did you make the sheet metal tops?

    • @Nick-vs9tq
      @Nick-vs9tq  3 месяца назад +1

      I had a sheet metal shop cut and break 18 gauge sheet metal with a 4-inch backsplash and 2.5 inches on the front with a hem. Then I stacked two pieces of 3/4 plywood, screwed and glued together, and then silicone the sheet metal to the top of that

    9400 lb trailer weight with tools in it and only registered under 10,000 gvw does not leave much room to play with. In Pennsylvania, over a 10,001 lb and up gvw trailer weight requires combination registration. Not having a trailer registered as a combination and being over the registered weight leads to a $6,000 fine. (At least that is what the PA state trooper told me at a seminar) Awesome trailer!

    • @Nick-vs9tq
      @Nick-vs9tq  4 года назад +1

      I know each state is different. In Washington, the law reads, "trailers with a GVWR under 10001 pounds shall be exempt," so they can't even ask to weigh you. However, every officer interprets the rules a little differently, so it's still a bit of a crapshoot. This is one of the reasons I don't put my business name on the side of the trailer, and I register it and my truck in my name, not the business name. Good luck with the Smokeys in PA!

    • @dougdowney9737
      @dougdowney9737 2 года назад

      I'm in Spokane, my local DOT guy said my truck is counted as 10k (2500 cummins) and with any combo over 16k a DOT number is required. I have a 7k job trailer, 14k dump, and 14k flatbed. Staying under 26k to avoid the CDL requirement. About registering personal instead of business, he said it comes down to insurance. If you have a commercial insurance policy and over 16k combined you need a DOT and have to stop at scales when open. He said not having a DOT number when required starts at about 5k then they'll start looking for other violations to run the fine up. All a game of BS to make it harder to make a living...
      Digging your setup and wishing my 16' 7k was a 20' 10k. I'm outta room!
