It's not only the technical finesse of The Parthenon that makes it unique; it is also its innovations, radical spirit, aesthetic perfection and measure, that only the Athenian creative mind could achieve at that time!

Thank you very much for this short but instructive video. Because everybody says that the Parthenon lines are curved in order to look straight, but they don't talk about these optical illusions

The so called Elgin Marbles now in the British Museum belong to the Parthenon on the Acropolis of Athens.

Even the top engineers architects and stonemasons with all the high tech tools admit they could not build such a perfect structure. They were better than us

I caught that too. I think "literally" is now misused more often than "ironic."

Don t make a legend out of simple things . The architects had just seen through experience that straight lines appeared like curved . That s all .

The Astrolabe was invented by Arab muslims to assist in prayer. Whatever changed didn't change until long after Islam.

How to prove it? Easy! In his fathers tomb the name is written like that
    ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΣ Ο ΜΑΚΕΔΩΝ

omg mate, u have your facts wrong...
homer lived and wrote iliad and odessey in around 8th century BC...
and Greek history goes back to 3000BC
Greek, egyptian and Chinese culture are the oldest and most important cultures ever.
it is wrong to try and compare them. each one offered great things to humanity

    Beacuse of the following:
    1. that museum's design is an insult to the partenon
    2. the museum destoroed many statues sacred to hellenistic reconstruction
    3. the brithish museum celibrates the similarity and diversity of humanity and unlike the partenon museum is not driven by nationalism.
sumery: greece clearly mismanages it's antiquities, the british museum is a much better home

It disgusts me that the Christians defaced this relic. Again, ruining yet another aspect of history. Thanks 'Jesus'

It was actually the muslims that defaced them.
