You should try and learn the bass part “who did you think I was” by John Mayer Live at LA. Easily one of the most tiring bass parts to play.

Incredible job covering this! I really struggle with jazz-style phrasing and the timings but this made interpreting those tabs way easier!

I’ve been kinda struggling with reading sheet music and watching you play which strings was played on each line and numaric is actually helping me I’ve practiced it to where I’m able to get down the main bass line that you hear in the opening though I’m still not good I’m getting better and I feel like with practice in my off time I’ll eventually be able to play this song without the sheet
I love this song and I love how I was able to understand it on sheet thanks to your editing making seem simple to follow

That's actually how you get better at playing the instrument, just learning to play something new, not even something hard necessarily.

there are no mistakes in his playing; the mistakes in the tablature are because the program creates the tab automatically from what he is playing. like speech to text dictation, but play-to-tab dictation, and they are never perfect.

RUclips auto detects even melodies nowadays and notifies the owner of the original. If you put up any cover, the original copyright owner gets to decide what happens with your video. Most of the time they'll just turn on ads on your video and collect the revenue. That little thing at the bottom you're looking at is created by youtube automatically when that situation happens and a copyright holder has a claim to the video content. It also usually goes to the original version of the song that is owned by the copyright holder, if you want to find an original quickly.

hi, great song very well executed, but do I have to play with 2 fingers? I am learning bass and I use my thumb. is that good or should I try to make myself only play with fingers?
4-5 months late, so you probably either already figured it out or have got stuck in a bad habit but: No, you do not (usually*) play with your thumb. 2 fingers, index and middle, is the classic bass fingering because it lets you be fairly agile while muting notes.
* Slap bass is usually played with the crook of the thumb, and some bassists use their thumb to hit their lowest (thickest) string in parts which require moving rapidly between the highest and lowest string.

If it’s what I think ur talking about then the ghost note is on the tab: it’s the 16th note on the sheet music which is the second to last note of the bar (and the second to last 1 on the tab)?

Is the extra -1 on the D in the rift needed? Maybe I’m playing it wrong but it doesn’t sound right
it’s played pretty fast after the note before so it almost blends in with it
As irresponsible as it sounds you can honestly get away with playing it once :p
