Mine has the little dimples in the chrome and I’m hoping this can remove them. Thereafter what polish would you use for the chrome ? Apart from that your so intuitive. You might want to get a variety pack of sandpaper and test some 2,500 or 2,000 on a less seen part of the bumper in case it leaves some scratches. I got a buffing wheel from harbor freight that looks in your drill. You can try different kinds of metal polish. Check out summer shine on RUclips, Instagram and TikTok.

As far as driver quality paint Job, you have nailed it. I would lightly sand the trash as you call it or nibs and buff those spots and call it good. These days a paint job like you just did would be $10,000 easy

I don't know how many times you mentioned this being "not show car quality" or "just driver quality" level work. As per the norm this job is several notches closer to the former and quite a distance from the latter. All I can say is you need to stop selling yourself so obviously, and horribly, short. I went to a new car show about 20 yrs ago... there was a silver Kia or Hyundai SUV that I gave a quick go over... and there was a short straight black hair in the paint right at the top of the hood. Since then, that's been my standard on paintwork.. got no black hairs in it? It's good.

As long as you are happy is all that matters, I will say that it's almost impossible to get the perfect paint job with out of all the extra work that goes with it.

Yeah, those reproduction parts can be a mixed bag. It’s a shame you had that problem with the gas cap. This one does have the flip top. I’ve still got to get it on there soon
I’m going to throw these in my sonic cleaner with a light chemical solution to help fight the corrosion. I like to tough them up with fine sandpaper to knock off any pitting and then reshoot the reshoot the edges in black. Polish the front side with a buffing wheel and some stout compound.
Joe you keep saying daily driver. But that car is literally a cut and buff away from a show car. (Which is what makes a showcar) Body is razor straight dude!

On a Mopar Orange Peel is desired LOL it's how they did it at the factory original correct

How much paint did you use.
It took about 3 1/2 quarts of clear (with some waste), and 2-3 quarts of base. I really didn’t want any bare color spots

He has a pretty nice fiberglass hood with a scoop. Going for the 69 1/2 look with the black wheels and scoop
