I really admire NECA for consistently rereleasing older figures with updated paint, it's great for new collectors and plenty other companies out there don't do that. It may not be his most iconic look but I love how unrefined and grimy looking he is in that first film, that and part 2 are probably my favorite looks for him. The brighter colored sweater on the new one I feel is more accurate, but the brighter red on the face is way tooo bright. The one thing that always bugged me about this figure aside from the lack of elongated arms, is the reuse of the sweater from the original pre-posed version. I'm not a fan of its pre-posed look at the bottom with it being pulled up on one side, it just seems off to me, like an invisible hand is pulling it up.
Turn your back on Freddy? People forget, Freddy spent the whole end of the film trolling Nancy. She didn't beat him, and she never woke up. In fact, part 3 never explained how she was even still alive.

In the first movie when you see him his presence like Freddy Kruegers steals the spotlight. But the more screen time they get the less their presence has a affect. Because you get used to how they look so it's less disturbing because you get used to it. Unlike say Michael Myers he's basically a human so he blends in. He only stands out when he kills.
I own both versions. Personally I prefer the 2014 release, because I like the paint job more. I just like the darker color scheme it has. But the 2022 reissue was the one I got first, and it's definitely pretty cool. Just the lighter color scheme, which i don't hate, as a matter of fact i like pretty much, but i just feel that the 2014 release is better. At the end of the day, it's all down to preference I guess.

No now kinda wish that neca decided to do more joints onto the torsos cause I really am not satisfied with the torso always being tilted just for accuracy. A rubber torso possibly
I’ve got all the NECA Freddy on the cards. The part 1 with the long arms ended up becoming really brittle and the long arms broke.I super glued the long arms into him.
I just picked up this figure and he looks great and mine doesn't have the red nose like yours for some reason. Great video as always and another great figure from Neca imho.✌🏻
When it comes to releasing a Freddy Krueger with extended arms. They could do what they did with the one ultimate Pennywise 2017 the Dancing Clown figure. The one with the monster arms have the arm extensions connected after the elbow. Do the same thing on the Freddy Krueger figure.
Nice figure overall. But I don't get the face mask. Who is that face supposed to be? There is no part in the first movie where Freddy wears someone else's face. The skull head should have come with a removabe Freddy face. That was actually in the movie.
Love your reviews... BUT could you possibly just spend a minute or two looking at the figure in the box/packaging first (before going straight to the opening)? The packaging is often a big part of the overall appeal of the product - not to mention, there are many Mint-In-Box only collectors out there too. Thanks! 👍
I used to spend a lot more time in the reviews talking about the packaging and boxes but then I used to hear that it was too much time focussed on it and not enough on the figure itself, so I've really just used the box more for the opener of the video and committed more time to the figures

part of me feels like you don't really care for figures anymore as you have mentioned MANY TIMES that MANY pieces of your "collection" have gone "missing"....
I don't think I've actually mentioned it that many times. It happens though with collectibles, a lot of my NECA moreso are figures I've had on the shelf, between a little kiddo running around grabbing stuff, cats knocking stuff off the shelf or bringing a figure out and over to the Reviewing table for comparisons things just have disappeared over the years, I wouldn't say its attached at all to me not caring for figures anymore. I mean this Freddy I used for comparisons Ive had in my collection for what like 8 years? a lot can happen to accessories in 8 years
Least his diaper is more covered.. dont understand why they do thst on forlorn figures..no reason for him to do the splits for christ sales, ruins it for me

It looks to me like the hips go higher up into the sweater on the reissue, the legs on the original look off to me
