Hey Vin cent, glad you got one and that I could help :) Yeah I mentioned it in the review, it's my only negative for it, I feel I have to constantly wave my hand in the dark too see it haha. They should have added something to modify the dimming time, like a switch under the battery cover, or a button press combo, either way it has a lot more features than other remote options available so I am happy with it :)
Subed and liked just for Bruce alone! Keep up the great work, buying this remote right now. Didn't even know Xbox remotes like this were a thing.. been using the game controller that came with it all this time.
Thanks Daniel, Bruce wont be going anywhere so you'll see him in new videos! And yeah I use it all the time, can't believe how much of a change a simple remote can make 😁👍
Thanks for the kind words! :) im aiming to make a lot more content this year, so 2019 will hopefully be a breakthrough 🚀 thank you for the support in subscribing :)
You're welcome, I use it all the time! The back light has to be my favourite 😊 im uploading a video this weekend on the keyboard I use for typing in video searches as well if you're interested so make sure you're subscribed to see 😁👍
I dont think the Xbox uses an IR blaster to turn on the TV/projector, rather it sends a signal through HDMI. I could be wrong but that was my understanding when I got the original Xbox one. Could have changed with the S and X variants.
It stops working, that's the only way haha. The LEDs do start to become dimmer, but if it's playing up just change the batteries and you'll be good to go 🤙
haha funny thing is I never played minecraft on it, well hardly every have :P was just on an insane amazon deal and I was like, damn that doesn't look too bad
Oh good question, I do struggle getting around blurray menus, you have to bring up the on screen menus then select it. I'm guessing Microsoft haven't enabled a dedicated IR signal for this or PDP just didn't think it was worth it
It's not programmed by the remote as such as it's the Xbox is setup to control your soundbar. The current generation consoles don't have an IR blaster like shown in this video. Either try HDMI-CEC with a Xbox Series console. Or if you have a one X or One S (pre Series generation) the AV settings on the console will let you setup IR control
The back light turns off after about 15seconds, which is too fast for my liking but it good for batteries. The remote itself is IR, so it only uses power when you press a button so doesn't have an on or off mode itself
@@camshand a ok.I get it.ir like all normal remotes. The old ps3 remote was bluetooth and still didnt turn off unless u forced it to.Which was great if u had your console inside a tv furniture for example.Still this will do since the auto shutt off of the xbox gamepad is so annoying.
Yeah just like a normal one :) I also made a video on a qwerty keyboard which is the same, except for the back light stays on until you toggle it off, it's in my video list :)
Hi!!! Do you have ti point directly at the xbox, or it doesn't matter? Cuz my mi TV its in front of me an my xbox is on my right side behind a big chair. Thanks
Hi Luis, It is Infra Red which effectively means Line of Sight, so if something is in the way it most likely will not work. It's like the normal remotes you use with a TV. The Mi Box uses a Bluetooth remote so it doesn't matter where you point it, however the PDP Talon will. Hope this helps you 😁👍
may I suggest if you cannot get it in line of sight of your Xbox, a media remote like this one here amzn.to/2Ww4Eam I'll be doing a video on one similar soon, as it uses a Dongle plugged into the back of the Xbox, so you do not need to be in line of sight! Plus the full keyboard makes searching for movies easy on Netflix etc. consider subscribing so you can see my review on that type of Xbox Remote when I upload it 😊
You don't need the remote to use the universal remote on/off so try adding the uhd50 as your screen in the xbox settings and test it out ☺️ hopefully it works!
Hmm I've had it for like 3 years... Probably change them once a year? It's IR so only uses power when you push a button unlike modern Bluetooth ones that chew when on standby
@@camshand No, I don't have one currently, but I'm thinking of getting one of these remote. I admit I was surprised to see such a well made third party product.
@@XDLugia I haven't seen if there's anything new out, but when I purchased it was for sure the best option around. The only thing better would be a qwerty keyboard on the flip side, however I couldn't find any xbox guarenteed supported ones. But for just general navigation and volume this just works so well!
@@camshand Yeah. Even though a keyboard would be practical, it would also make simple things like skipping and volume control more of a hassle, so I'm sure this is well balanced. Thanks for replying.
Had this remote for a few months and can easily say it's garbage. It's very unresponsive. Better to shell out the extra cash and buy a Logitech harmony.
How was your Xbox placed? Mine works perfectly fine, with a clear line of sight to my Xbox. Remembering it's IR, and for volume control that's handled by the IR blaster on the Xbox itself, so the Xbox needs to be close to the TV or other devices around. The only delay I have is turning up volume or lowering, as every IR pulse is sent from the remote to the Xbox, then converted by the Xbox into the signal needed from Xbox to TV.
@@camshand For me, the actual buttons stopped working after a while (Up, down, left, right). Have to press harder now for it to work. This hasn't happened to you?
@@Brandon.S.Brooker naah mines been working same as day 1. Only issue I have is the back of it slides off easily now, thing one of the little plastic clips has snapped off or been bent back. But that's the drama with all remotes as you fidget with them haha, well I do at least. I presume you've tried a fresh set of batteries? Maybe the buttons have worn out, mine is in my home theatre so don't use it everyday
@@camshand I couldn't find anything in any settings on xbox that was helpful. And what different model are you referring to? The TV? I just have the one tv
Hi Alex, Follow from 1:24 onwards to see the area in Xbox Setting that you configure your TV Device, you'll need to click on TV as an option and select the model of TV which you have. If your model isn't there, try Googling to find one made at the same time be the same manufacturer, as they most likely will have used the same IR Signals for general Volume control. Let me know how you go :)
@@TigerLove it utilises IR, so no internet is required. And it will only control the volume of your TV, the rest of the buttons on the remote control functions of your Xbox One :)
How does this not more views? The cinematography is on par with bigger techtubers.
Hi J K,
Thanks dude! Really appreciate the kind words :)! Did you recently get one of these remotes?
cam shand Yea I did recently get one and it works like a dream.

Great cinematography, great editing. Great video!!!
Thanks Christopher! I appreciate the kind words 😁✌
This is a SLICK review. Looking forward to more! Just subbed.
This is some great set up you got
Great video pal. Quick question, will this be able to control the Xbox if its placed behind a stud wall? It will be within a 5 to 6metre range.
Love your review! I've bought this remote because of it.
The only downside is for me the quick dimming backlight of the remote.

wait! could you connect the PDP talon to the xbox one with the controller connected?
This works with Tehran new Series X/S?
How do I sinc the remote to my Xbox one. No one shows how to sinc
This in a Infrared Remote, so there's no syncing, it's not Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, just point, press, and the Xbox should do it :)
Would have been nice to know if and when can you know when the batteries are low

the talon control works by bluetooth or infrared.
