Gurranq rock into great glinstone shard is a true combo. Glintstone shard into carian piercer is a VERY consistent roll catch for different roll timings and directions (It will even catch LIGHT ROLLS). To land Gurranqs, simply connect a catch flame (and this sometimes will work even if you whiff catch flame) and go straight into gurranq for a gurranq roll catch (IF you whiff your catch flame, see if you can trade against the weapon you fight against. You might be able to trade if you whiff your catch flame and the trade will be in your favour). If they don't roll, condition them with a second catch flame against people swinging back. Gurranqs rock has a very big hitbox and it has a quite deceiving lingering hitbox as well. What's really cool about this true combo is that you can connect the combo AT ANY RANGE. Up close? it works. Someone rolling away? Gurranq will still connect and will inflict enough stagger to land a glintstone shard from some pretty far ranges. This build has 40 faith and 70 INT to get a decent scaling on both the talisman and staff. Combine this with the radagons icon, and you'll have max cast speed without ANY dex investment which is nice! Little bonus: glintstone shard into piercer kinda looks like the glinstone pebble weapon art which I find pretty cool!

I naturally fell into int faith before jumping into pvp and I gotta say the sheer amount of spells you get when you meet all the requirements is insane. The combo potential is unmatched imo. Especially dangerous when the levels are right for the prince of deaths staff and golden order seal since they both scale with int faith but lusats staff is better when your faith and int aren't like 5 levels apart
I assume this was done at lvl 150? I've done something like this combo before. But instead I went right from Stone of Gurranq into Carian Piercer. Those two spells also true combo at max cast speed. If they get hit by the Stone, Piercer is a sure hit as well. This build can also utilize the Carian Slicer -> Gavel of Haima -> Unendurable Frenzy combo which is very reliable except when people get up from the Gavel and immediately light roll spam away.
Might make a new character to play this style. I hybrid everything I do and try to balance between melee and spells and no meta. I NEVER see anyone play like this in the colosseums
Great video, and it really emphasises how many more schools of magic could be viable on their own with just a few extra utility spells. Why can't DS3 Black Flame exist as a catch flame equivalent for blackflame builds?
Probably for balance. Blackflame deals 2% of the targets hp in damage ticks after the initial burst damage Catch flame can be cast like twice or 3 times in under a second and you can easily reach 4 digit damage numbers. Combining that together would be absolutely ridiculous. Black flame sling already allows you to trivialise bosses but atleast requires animation commitment. Catch flame is one of the quickest attacks in the whole game
I believe you can make blackflame very useful anyway using ashes and the weapon enchantment. As long as your Affinity isn't elemental you can apply the buff to the weapon then proc the effect through the Ash, on ranged Ashes especially its strong

Yup. Lots of combos are possible. Stone of gurranq does the same stagger that a colossal weapon does. Thorn sorceries also have true combos. Catch flame into stone of gurranq into adulas moonblade into carian piercer works too. :) Oh also, bloodflame talons for the camouflage from the animation into the curly fry spell into comet.
They literally did the same thing they did to sorceries, miracles and hexes in DS3 here... But this time around, quality builds are the ones that got the shaft, lol

@@ts6603 At that breakpoint it's only going to be better than Carial Royal with that exact distribution. At higher int Carian Regal Scepter is going to be way better. At the actual investment (70-40), Carian Regal beats Prince of Death's 330 to 312. If you distribute 55-55, Prince of Death's only gets 306. 80-30 would get Prince of Death's to 318 but then Carian Regal would be at 373. Again, for those stats, Prince of Death's is the best, but you could get better with a different stat distribution. (Well, if you can get enough int to even unlock Carian Regal.) Again, for Prince of Death's Staff to be definitively superior you need a much higher stat investment.
@@Xandros999 true i just checked it. the death prince is a back scaling staff for some reason. i originally thought a more even int faith distribution would also benefit the golden order seal but i guess its more difficult as it appears
@@scythianking7315 Yes at a greater cost for sorceries. However, this penalty does not apply to incantations, so incantations get the full casting speed buff with the staff in the otherhand.
@@leerking4571 im also saying this nicely but a TRUE COMBO means if stone lands it’s a guaranteed follow up if there are no latency issues. The piercer after the combo acts as a ROLL CATCH meaning the true combo has ended and options to hit the opponent while they roll are now available. Hope this helps
@CapDayne Levi I tried it and maybe ping effected it but I only got it to Land 5/10 times its hella broken and fun but in my experience not reliable but I also pvp at 200-300 sl so that definitely has some effect

Int faith will always be the combos. Even without true combos, moonviel (i use cold unsheath washing pole) +catch flame is a nightmare.
