There's just something about the way she reads, "Open doors are not displacements. It means someone has *entered the house.* " Like the realization mid sentence is hilarious to me.
The 'someone has entered the house' horror is the most terrifying bit to me.
Just the idea of 'someone/thing is here and I don't know who or where'.
“Were probably gonna die the first time”
Casually sips a cup of coffee
I like how once the corpse spawns in, all the camera titles changed to "Bad Decision Mark".
Really fun game!
I saw that and thought it was creepy as hell at first, but when she got to the corpse on camera it was immediately an awesome detail!
Imagine markiplier playing and that happens 😂
Fastest janitors in the west
Is it a Easter egg sorta for Markiplier?
@@mandarinablue8438 No. It's a reference to the Mandela Catalogue, one of the two inspirations for the game. In the series, Mark commits not alive and he gets mocked by the alternate with the line "Bad decision, Mark!"
mandela catalogue themed observation duty :0
Fr!! I'm so excited, I wish gab would watch it but i understand why she doesn't:3
Even though Mandela catalogue scares the shit out of me, I low key hoped to see an alternate inside and Gabs reaction to it
Mandela Catalogue is by far the best thing that came out recently and i wish it continues for more
and it started when Alex was 16, dude is a legend
I'm currently working the nigt shift alone and that knocking scared me so bad
@elkq0lots of night shift jobs
THE KNOCK WAS THE VIDEO?! I CHECKED MY FRONT DOOR LMAOOO
This game honestly is scary. Not just jumpscare scary.
Like I don't know why the screaming "behind you" is so fear inducing.
It’s the great voice acting. The intense scream with a fearful tone would make anyone uncomfortable
That's a line straight from The Mandela Catalogue, here on RUclips
Can we just talk about that sink placement in the kitchen? 😂
😂😂 demonic
I'm trying to forget😢
The true horror
I noticed that awful sink littoral seconds before I saw your comment! 😂 complete agree on it being in the worst spot possible
Oh my. 😮
i love how the threat level goes up to evident after gabs was asking if we get some warnings if there is stuff around :D
There's a secret ending to this game when you find all the anomalies in dark mode you have to wait at the win screen till (i think) the music ends something will happen
My stomach growled and right after that she said “I hear something” 😅 I thought I broke reality for a second 😂😂
I just adore all the Mandela catalog easter eggs/references you can tell the creator payed very close attention
What a brilliant way for people to experience a night in the Mandela Catalogue universe! Would love to see @Wendigoon try playing too
I love how subtle a lot of the changes are, feels like something you could see in your home and then feel a sense of dread thinking about it, wondering whats different, why things feel so wrong.
I wonder how many thousands of people looked left when that binaural knocking happened. XD
I used to have the glow in the dark stars on my ceiling in high school, and I want to put some on my ceiling as an adult because walking into my room at night would be so much better
omg at 12:24 you looked at the chat while the two kids were disappearing from the picture in the bedroom 😫
I think this happened multiple times. I'm not sure if it's an actual anomaly or just a bug. But at 34:20 you can tell the the clock is an hour behind.
it doesn't seem to be an hour behind, because then the hour hand would have to be slightly more before the 5. as of now, it seems to be pointing more at the 5 directly instead. so i think it's just game design :)
5:07 "We miss you Dave" OKAY HOW DARE-
This is a fun new entry in the Observation Duty genre! One of my fave things about this one is that the flashlight interacts with stuff in the environment, like reflecting off the mirrors, indirectly reflecting in the laptop screen and the fridge, etc. A neat touch that makes it feel more real.
Oof, that door knock around 11:10 really got me too.
I just want to say I love how faithful this came is to Mandela Catalouge with all the little references, really tickles my brain!
dang! was hoping to see some intruders and more spooky stuff.
I cant believe you only got 1 intruder. Theres like a dozen of them
the gun on the bed is such a neat detail to mandela catalogue
"nobody came for me"
It's a camcorder
@@LeeTheSecond It's a pistol, with which he offed himself
@@true-dark-mind9681 look again, it's a camcorder. The pistol appears when the corpse does
i love how the clock on the kitchen wall also shows the time changing
Going to play this for a bit, while working on getting ready for the day.
By the way, Gab, there's an indie horror that came out in April, called Suffer the Night. Would you be interested in trying it out, some time?
Yay I love these kinds of games!!! I love the dark mode- what a genius idea!!! I hope you play more of it because i REALLY want to see an intruder in that mode bc 👀 that would be so scary
I have been hoping to see Gab attempt this game! It's so interesting and the creatures are super creepy!
Yeah, I love Mandela catalog sm, soso creepy lol
The "Bad decision Mark" at 40:56 scared me more than the actual corpse appearing.
Right?? I was surprised that Gab nor anyone else in the comments/chat commented on it! My guess is that the game maker hopes Markiplier to play the game (as he has played Observation duty), or maybe Mark is simply quite the generic name. 😂
@@cathychaos4047 I also wondered that! I hope Mark does play it at some point.
I think it was supposed to be referencing Mandela Catalogue. I believe one of the videos shows "Bad decision Mark" after the guy is killed or something
@@yeplife3135 Oh, that makes sense. Thanks for sharing!
i love the consistent 03:33 whispers!! such a cool nod to episode 333 of tmc :D
Ive watched so much observation duty esque content, I'm starting to question my own house😬
check behind the couch
Check inside uranus
I really love this game here's some info: 1: the periodic "ding" sound is the hour marker on the time. 2: there is always a creepy whispering when the clock hits 3:33. 3: if you are struggling to find something keeping the report busy while you look with random mimic/displacements on basement/ kids room can help since they have some of the hardest to see ones. And finally there are some crazy subtle ones some of the worst ones i have found are: light switch in living room moving to the kitchen doorway on the left, mimic of the kitty picture facing away so its just a shadow, mimic of a vent (living room/laundry room), mimic of a light switch (stairs/laundry room), extra book (kids room/bedroom), turned folder in the kids room, extra lotion in the bathroom, the green bin lid in basement being sideways, the pill bottle moving in the bedroom, and the lotion falling over in the bedroom. These are just some of the ones that were easiest for me to miss for a while, but considering i still don't always get everything i am sure there are probably some i still haven't found afterall the kitty photo mimic was one i found recently it really is just a shadow on the back of that table. Another note is that the black screen flash means that a change happened on the camera you are using, though some changes happen just before the flash so sometimes i have seen it like seeing a picture fade into something else... something i found cool is even if you are looking somewhere else in the house you hear a faint gunshot when the corpse appears. So i have reported that one without looking at that camera before. There's a part of me that is tempted to record alot and do a compilation of all the anomalies i have ever caught. But idk that's alot of work...😅 i hope you keep enjoying the game tho! (I forgot to mention "evident" means there is at least 2-3 anomalies you have missed)
I knew that "oh my god look behind you" sounded so familiar!!! It's from the Mandela Catalogue Vol. 2!!!!!
For those of you who don't know this is game is based on the analogue horror, "Mandela Catalogue", I highly recommend checking all 4 parts and it's extras out
all of the mandela catalogue nods goddamn
Lotsa Mandela Catalogue stuff in this game!
I was just about to say the same when I saw your comment, the angel painting in living room is definitely the fake Gabriel
I mean it's literally called ALTERNATE-watch, lol.
It's an observ. duty and Mandela crossover.
@@Stick_and_stone I mean. Yeah. I think OP meant that we weren’t necessarily expecting like Mark’s face or the intruder to be in it lol
honestly rly love this game!! its got such good atmosphere. somehow it feels like theres something bigger going on that we cant see, it feels like there could be layers to it. i hope they continue to add depth to the game because its promising!!
This one was so interesting! I thought the Mandela Catalogue easter eggs made it a bit spookier. I think I still personally like Para Eyes a bit better, but it definitely looks like a great game!!
I don't know if Phasmo and House Flipper use similar assets, but it is rather fun for me to spot items that I recognize from playing soooo much House Flipper. Also made me laugh when the kid's room window lit up with the Windows background.
11:05 I legit looked to my left, which is a wall, because of this lol. This one's a really creepy observation game. I keep expecting jump scares 😅
I don't remember if I recommended this game, but I knew you would eventually get to it, so I'm glad I wasn't wrong. And I hope you give this game a few more tries, if only to see the other "Flaweds".
And yeah, I'm also very glad that Observation Duty spawned its own little genre. Observation Duty and its inspired games, and Phasmo, Egyptian Phasmo and other such games are quite a delight to watch.
Aw man she didn't get any flawed... I hope you play more of this game, there's so much anomalies in this one
YES!!! You have no idea how happy I am that you played this! Gonna grab some snacks for this one 😎
That white leather couch looks so much like a couch we own when I was like... three years old. It's unlocking childhood memories.
Such a unique way to bring Mandela Catalogue into Observation Duty. I caught way too many references lol I always hoped more games would use the crazy atmosphere and downright terrifying alternates from Mandela Catalogue. The series is downright horrifying at times. So interested in playing this myself! Hope more observation duty like games keep coming out!
YESSS I love Gabs playing these kinds of games!!
Damn, there's a handful of really creepy anomalies, but the just never showed up
I agree that it's so cool to see games that are made in tribute to the type of Observation Duty series. This was a pretty interesting one, thanks for sharing it with us all!
I have to admit that some of the changes are very subtle, since I can only spot by going back and forth.
Gab is to Observation games on RUclips that Markiplier is to FNAF games.
I really like seeing you play this new genre of scary games, it's really cool!
If Alternate Watch gets an update, plis try it out :D
I love when you do these styles of games ❤
There's so many intruders and different types of anomalies in this game. Shame none of them showed up here
Love this game! ❤️ The scares are really well done
So, since the Observation Duty phenomenon started, has anyone else started frantically inspecting their house at night expecting anomalies? Like "Yeah, that glass definitely wasn't there. How long until 6:00am?" Asking for a friend.
You don't need to worry yet.
-but soon-
I think this can occur when you're living alone. If you live with people, you just shrug of a thing that has been moved or disappeared.
well now im scared to live alone. thank god i live with my family and i have a girlfriend who i will probably move in with when i turn 18
This is a fun game to watch. I watched a couple of other people play now and it's actually really cool
AHHH I LOVE MANDELA CATALOG, perfect watch for tonight, seeing sm stuff directly from that series and it’s making me so excitedddd
40:57 AAA I LOVE THAT THEY DIRECTLY TOOK SOMETHING FROM THE SERIES LIKE THAT, w the ‘bad decision mark’ and everythingggg
This was a great game, and congratulations for beating dark mode on the first try. Also well done with beating the level normally with a perfect score. I honestly think Gab would make a great real life detective looking for clues. She's certainly the best RUclipsr I've seen play observation duty. Thanks for another great game playthrough Gab.
YAAAY I really wanted you to play this! So excited!
I COMPARED IMAGES FOR SO LONG IN THE BASEMENT BEFORE I SAW IT WAS THE DANG CAMERA THAT MOVED. It moved ever so slightly out of place. I was like wait the chair still didn't move, but that means something else did. This game definitely has subtle details.
11:09 that tapping freaked me out. It’s currently midnight where I’m at and there’s a large window behind me and I legit jumped thinking someone tapped on it. 😅😅
41:54 Yeah! This is what I like about indie games, although these are copies of a game mechanic, each one adds something to the (new) genre.
The dark mode is SO COOL. Not only is it an eye tracker game but also makes it so much more "guess and hope' when you report and its not what you noticed. this game with more levels OR difficulties (i.e more or less anomalies) with dark mode would be SO FREAKING NUTS love love
Wow I love how tense this is!
IM SO GLAD YOUVE FINALLY PLAYED IT! IVE BEEN WAITING FOR SO LONGGG
No Observation Duty music??? This made me paranoid from the first minute 😩
I agree, the trend is great, plus puzzles are good for the brain, so it's like we're all getting our mental workouts in just by watching
Ooh this is amazing! I love the Mandela Catalogues and I cant imagine a better type of game for it. Loved watching you play.
During the dark mode part, I was so focused I got jump scared by an ad lol
Also a preacher is a cloaked fingure usually partially visible somewhere towards the back of the room (i have only found it either in the back of the living room or in the bedroom closet) and there will be constant noise that doesn't actually sound like words. (I usually think it looks like a stretched ghostface from scream movie). The pure form looks like a statiky silhouette with white glowing eyes. It will move to be in front of camera after a couple seconds and if not reported right away will permanently disable that camera.
Oooh, I've seen clips of this game! I was hoping you'd be giving this one a go :3
Also - I love that the ceiling stars stay lit up in dark mode
YEY!! Gabs finally checked out Alternate Watch!! ❤❤
I like this game a lot. No cheap jumpscares or gory effects, just a creepy atmosphere and some creepy sounds that makes everything feel very close to home.
there one jumpscare, the guy covering the camera when the screen goes black and he appear after it
Never had that one, but it is not a cheap one :)@@LgdFanta
I too kept thinking that thing at the bottom of the stairs on the left was some kind of person XD
HAPPY 1M subscribers gabs!!!! I love yahhh you deserve itttttt!
I like the list in concept, so you still have anomaly types without having people confused about classifying.
I enjoy the similar-to observation duty games, but can't wait for a new actual observation duty
This is really good, I love these types of games and it's interesting to see what each game tries. I found Para Eyes levels very empty, this one's better.
Anyone notice how the painting of the two kids in the bedroom is an altered version of The Hands Resist Him? That supposedly cursed painting. It's made to look like normal kids but has the same layout and background shape.
I’m somehow getting that Skinamarink movie vibes from this and I both love and hate it
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!
OMG!! Imagine a paranormal activity game like this!
Btw if u play this again, Pure Forms are super obvious, they won’t be hiding and u also have to report them in a limited amount of time
A big stream today and this vod!! ❤ its a good day!
Now that we have a Mandela Catalogue themed Observation Duty-like game, can we get my long dreamed for Mortuary Assistant themed Observation Duty-like game?
That would be so unbelievably dope
I don't know if Jack/Sean was away when she filmed this, but this would have been a good one to have him on since he knows Mandela Catalogue well!
Yes! Would have been great to hear his thoughts on it since he loved the Mandela Catalogue stuff so much. Maybe he will play it himself at some point.
Jacksepticeye? Are they roommates or something?
@@LeeTheSecond they’re dating !!
@@horrorhoochie cool, didnt know
DID NO ONE ELSE NOTICE?? When the CORPSE appeared, the ROOM LOCATION TEXT at the TOP OF THE SCREEN turned into "BAD DECISION MARK" 😱 At 41:00
i’ve been so busy lately and i finally have time today to catch up on some videos eeeee i’m so excited :,))
congratz on 1 mln!
It is amazing that essentially a new subgenre of games were born from Observation Duty, basically taking the old "spot the difference" puzzles and creating a more live setting with horror elements added in. I always having a feeling of anticipation as I wait to see what new twist to the formula developers will take as they get inspired from other games & fresh ideas.
I'm really mad we didn't see any pure form or preacher, or more intruders. How often do they appear??? Once every 100th playthrough?
i don't know why but the guy that popped up in the anomaly removed screen made my heart jump XD
The dark mode doesn't make sense, but is pretty cool technologically lol. "We attached a mouse controlled flashlight to this static camera."
you're living in a world where anomalies magically get fixed when you report them. an emergency light for a backup camera isn't so terrible lol
Those watching on their phones get more paranoid because the image they're seeing is smaller, they can't catch a lot of details, so a lot of shadows and contours look scarier than they actually are.
YOU FINALLY PLAYED IT OMG ISS SO FUN TO WATCH!!!!!
I love how both this and Observation Duty works really well with their respective palettes. The much more realistic graphics really help give off that Mandela Catalogue feel; super atmospheric and ofc I always love seeing Gab play these kind of games :] like a horrific I Spy lol
This was such a cool game for you to play!
I expected the game to be more scary and dread-inducing like Mandela Catalogue combined with the tension and surprise of observation duty, but I feel like it was missing the mark on both. Developers have a great idea and more room to grow as they work on it.
