I love your tutorials, they have been immensely helpful to make these solos accessible for me. Thank you very much! I am still a beginner, so I might be wrong, but I have 2 observations, regarding the way you build up the progressions (eg. first without accents and drags, then adding them). 1. If an 8th note is followed by a drag, assuming the drag is played as two 32nd notes, shouldn't the drag effectively "change" the 8th note to a 16th note? (1/8 - 2 x 1/32 = 1/16) So shouldn't the rhythm sound different after the drag is added? Example is bar 14. When I Iisten to other people playing this part, it feels much more even, as if it was just 16th and 32nd notes. 2. Adding a flam should change where the upstroke is, because sometimes the grace stroke will become an upstroke if the next note is accented. This changing of the upstroke sometimes confused me, because I practiced one pattern of up-down-tap strokes without the flam and with the flam it becomes a slightly different pattern.
@marcoferraresi1 I find that lesson very helpful in it enables me to learn the drum notation for certain pieces and I can transfer that across other pieces. Currently trying to learn Parradiddle Jonny .
@@philipmcevoy7206 I'm glad you found it useful man! Please, do contact me if you have any doubt, I'd be happy to help you! Paradiddle Jhonny is a great one!! Let me know if you'll post it ;)
Hi Marco. Thanks. Very nice explanation. I have a question about bar 9 at the 9 minute mark. I am confused. I thought the seven stroke role is LLRRLLR but your seems to be LLRRLL. What am I missing?
Hi Alex! In that bar the last stroke of the seven stroke roll is the first stroke of the next bar. Have a look at 10:30 and you will see how we are going to complete the seven stroke roll! :)
