True, at least for me. I saw that remote on RUclips years ago only once and now that I saw the thumbnail for this video I couldn't have clicked it any faster.
This woman is a legend among Conan fans. Actually she is more like some sort of Demigoddess, she's held in such high regard. She's the best part and the reason this skit is legendary. That and "What ho! What is that Demonry?!"
Okay guys here me out, this girl is immortal. She didn't age over like 20 years, she wanted to roleplay and live in that village ( she could be nostalgic of here original time ), and in the begging she's talking about time traveling experience. Plus she doesn't seem to be an ordinary character. I mean it's clear like a tear.

This was my all time favorite Conan remote. I think that slight tension of Nell trying to stay in character added to the performance, you got a sense that she was trying to stay reserved in the presence of such a goofball. My favorite quote from the entire remote was "What ho, what is that demonry" when the plane flies over.
So cool hearing from her all these years later. If anyone asked what's the first remote they should watch to get a sense of what Conans like, just show them this one. Everything is in it
I’ve noticed a lot of Nell love in the Conan Community over the past….my god, decade? She’s the holy grail of “bit player” interviews, having been so memorable and beautiful.
I have watched that old timey baseball video couple of times every year since it first aired. The whole thing is funny and great. But she is the thing I like most about it. She was so wonderful and remerable in it. Beautiful and funny. Seeing her makes feel a bit better every time. :)
29 years a fan. I've enjoyed watching and have seen so much that my comments from time to time are about long standing impressions of your career. You made a comment to someone about how back in the 90's if a person didn't catch the show that all that great work would be lost except for the memories. How glad you were to see that years later people had recorded the show and were posting them. Now a new generation can view them. I know this is not a exact quot but seeing stuff like all the Norm Macdonald appearances among so many other guest over the years takes me back to a time and place where I didn't have a worry in the world. I let them play on RUclips feel a secure feeling and can fall to sleep.
WHAT?? AHAHAH This is amazing!!! I love that remote, and she is a big part of why it's so beloved! Conan wasn't the only one who had a crush on her. So talented and funny as hell!
. STILL has those BEWITCHINGLY dark, LOVELY eyes !! And what a TREAT to FINALLY get to hear Nell talk !! ......and it ONLY took 18 YEARS (original airdate: 06/25/2004) to get here !! .
They should do this for other old Conan remotes. Petition to get Lisa from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame remote on. Also the guys from Dudez-A-Plenti and Tommy, the kid from "Conan Writes Chicago Blues Songs With School Kids".
When the Wizard from the Attack of the Clones premiere remote (w Triumph) popped up years later in the Triumph's Occupy Wall Street remote, the audience reaction was one of instant recognition. Conan fans never forget.
WOW!!! - Old Timey Baseball is in my Top 20 Conan Videos of all time, and Conan has said it is his favorite clip, and has said if he's only remembered for one thing, that would be the one and he would feel his career was worth it, just for that- The entire bit was already a going to be a classic, and then Conan starts talking to the women fans, and they're all modest, husband is a farmer, then WHAM- Nell is all, "My father has passed sir" - "My husband is fighting the (Civil) War"- she just went DARK, and kept it up, and Conan instantly runs with it and Nell played back so well- so nice to hear from her and she still has good memory of Conan being into the bit - and Yes, I had a crush on her, and Yes she still Looks great
YOOOO This is my fave Remote EVER! I remember watching it the first time and I was bawling and literally rolling in my bed laughing so much. Love this!
Just watched the skit. Great stuff! I've been to the Old Bethpage Village Restoration and it really is like going back in time. Nell is terrific! Very pretty lady. 🙂
Oh my goodness, so glad to find this. Like all of america, was smitten with Nell in that sketch. How she kept in character was amazing. So adorable! And she was so quick answering. You would think she was an experienced Improv comic. WELL DONE! I have been happily married for 32 years but have a tiny crush on that character! (I still have a crush on Marcia Brady too, so what does that say about me). Nell, good luck and God bless on all that you do!
I've been waiting for this for years! Thank you Team Coco! Nell's just as amazing and beautiful as before. Can't wait to see for a new interview with her at Conan's show
Old timey baseball had this wonderful lady, Conan playing a banjo, farmers wives in the audience, hurlers for pitchers and some demonry in the sky. Modern baseball has Rob Manfred and a lockout.
I was LITERALLY thinking about the people from classic remotes and where they must be today, being cemented in TV history by their appearances on Conan. Like the lady from the Halloween costume store and the couple from when conan delivered flowers.
Is she aware that there are thousands -- maybe millions? -- of folks out here who have been crushing on her ever since the old-timey baseball remote aired?
Nell was just perfection in that remote. She only slightly broke, but she was just so natural and sweet. I felt awful for her when Conan was shredding her hopes of her husband returning. Poor sweet Nell 🥺
@Republicshallriseagain I highly highly doubt that. Conan has a podcast where he speaks with random people with interesting professions, there’s absolutely no way he wouldn’t want to interview her. That skit is also his favourite apparently.
she's even using a webcam from the 1800s. truly dedicated to the craft
Still hot dammit
haha, I think your just use to watching streamers with those expensive ass cameras,
A certified legend for every fan of Conan out there. Only appeared once - and, let's be real, never left our minds.
*bow down*
True, at least for me. I saw that remote on RUclips years ago only once and now that I saw the thumbnail for this video I couldn't have clicked it any faster.
Haha this perfectly encapsulates my feelings... I'm like "she's REAL!"
she almost eclipses Amber Lamps
Amen
This woman is a legend among Conan fans. Actually she is more like some sort of Demigoddess, she's held in such high regard. She's the best part and the reason this skit is legendary. That and "What ho! What is that Demonry?!"
WHAT?!? I never thought I'd get to see her interviewed- favorite character of that skit by far
I always hoped we would. :)
I know dude
Bro, "Nell the quiet woman whose husband was away at war in the Conan old timey baseball segment," was easily among my top 5 crushes of 11th grade.
Why?
One of my all-time favorite remotes. She nailed it and she still looks amazing almost 20 years later!
What?! She's now 20 years older and looks not a day older? What ho, what demonry is this?
@@qua9 🤣🤭
She is still waiting for her husband who went to Civil war
@@rocaez2143 she didn't get the "plowing seed in other melon patch" news hehe

She's probably just neurodivergent.
@@frolickinglions i think that's less likely
100%
She hasn't aged since 1865, surely a vampire
The 1800s woman look of being worn down adds to her probably looking much older back so when she actually aged in real life it's not too different.
Her: "My father's passed"
Conan: *uncontrollable laughter*
Legendary moment
She definitely ad-libbed that
Best worst reaction ever 😂

Periodt. THIS ONE’S FOR YOU NELL!!!
This interview was most cooling on my moustache.
Please cool me again
Why not dig a trench?

Nell needs to have an episode on the podcast, Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend!!! ❤️
I agree!!! It needs to happen.
Hell ya
Up
She's never seen an iron bird.
She should be a professional actress. She is very good at staying in character and has a great dry delivery.
Omg she’s the solemn “my husband died in the war” girl! She’s the best part of that sketch!
Her father had “passed”. Her husband was “fighting” in the war.
@@kstepko That was it!
*Conan bursting in laughter, with all of us*

That sketch was so funny. She nailed it. An unforgettable character. ❤️
This is a dream come true. She's incredible. It would be so lovely to see her and Conan back together for an interview and a bit.
So cool hearing from her all these years later. If anyone asked what's the first remote they should watch to get a sense of what Conans like, just show them this one. Everything is in it
I'm pretty sure Conan himself has said he wants the old timey baseball skit played at his funeral as a proper farewell.
I’ve noticed a lot of Nell love in the Conan Community over the past….my god, decade? She’s the holy grail of “bit player” interviews, having been so memorable and beautiful.
“This one’s for you, Nell!” still makes me crack up every time I watch that skit.
One of my favorite Conan remotes and characters that he riffed with! So fun to see this after all these years.
As a Conan fanatic, I think about her at least once a month, and to actually see her being interviewed is just marvellous.

That was such a great skit. Her commitment to her 1800 character worked with Conans time traveling TV show.
"What's that demonry!?"
Her voice is fantastic. She should do audio books.
or audio drama podcasts.
I love the way she describes performing with Conan. Seeing a really good performer at work is an electrifying experience
Prior to meeting Conan
"I have never seen the show."
After meeting Conan
"He's marvelous."
Nuff said
Conan really is very charming. I feel like you can’t help but like him.
Glad to see her doing well. Thanks team coco for sharing this.
Nell hasn't aged a day. She's beautiful and so well spoken. I wish her continued success in whatever her pursuits may be.
She's gotten very blurry and grainy though.

This is so awesome and has literally put a smile on my face to hear her talk about the experience. She made that remote!
good thing it wasn't a figurative smile on your face
OMG!! I’ve looked for updates on her for such a long time!! She was one of my favorite characters from Conan’s remotes
Same here!
Me too
Why is this woman not famous? She’s everything.
Her moments were my most memorable from any Conan show. I laughed so hard at that baseball interview.
She was the highlight of a highlight sketch. Still love to rewatch it once in a while. Most perfect comedic timing.

By far the best Conan remote sketch ever! 😂
Hey, its the hot girl from the remote. She played that character perfectly!
She made that sketch. Def one of the best remotes on the show, and I totally shipped her and Conan’s colonial characters lmaooo
Conan should have married HER.
That sketch was iconic 😂😂
Nell’s character made this clip a classic. This is time capsule worthy.
She was such a cool person then, and still a cool person now. Wish Conan and her would reunite for a bit
I immediately went and watched the skit again…still hilarious af
Fascinating. I clearly remember her in that bit and how she stayed in character.
She did a great job. She even cracked Conan
“This one’s for you, Nell!” That needs to be a T-shirt
She played the part perfectly, as did Conan!
I love this so much. This is one of my favorite things Conan ever did.
They should do this for other old Conan remotes. Petition to get Lisa from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame remote on. Also the guys from Dudez-A-Plenti and Tommy, the kid from "Conan Writes Chicago Blues Songs With School Kids".
Dudez-a-Plenti is my favourite clip. They need to make a comeback album
I, for one, am pining for a FedEx Pope retrospective.

I would also like to see the lady of pleasure from the Lincoln clip!!!
I say the original skit years ago, and still remember her. Beautiful.
Proof it wasn't an act. She is truly an ageless (and physically flawless) time traveler.

I love her! One of the best Conan remotes because of her improv.
She still looks the same and its been more than 20 years! Wow she's like a real time traveller
She's very beautiful like a old world beauty!

"My Father Has Passed" still remember that line that broke Conan LOL
Just watched the skit. Great stuff! I've been to the Old Bethpage Village Restoration and it really is like going back in time. Nell is terrific! Very pretty lady. 🙂
Now they just need to get the kids from the Chicago blues bit on the podcast in a Where Are They Now? segment.
Agreed!! Another one of my all-time favorites. I still crack up even though I know every line!
I had a crush on her thanks to that remote... I can't believe that was recorded 20 years ago, she looks the same.
One of the few people to legitimately upstage Conan. Instant fan favorite.
I've watched so many times that remote, in fact this week even

Listening to the genesis of this great remote was really interesting and to hear the person who was that girl was almost miraculous
I just rewatched this remote! Nell stole the show!
that's super cool making new material using memorable memories. good stuff!!
Wait, she's been living inside that LARP community ever since that day? That's commitment.
Literally my favorite Conan segment of all time, she was so funny playing off opposite Conan in it
Inside Conan sounds like an all male barbarian adult movie from the 80's.
Depends on if you stress the O or the A.
This was one of my favorite Conan bits.
No wayyyyy!!!!! I can't believe it!!! This is awesome 👏👏👏
I remember thinking how pretty she was and she’s still gorgeous
The "He's passed" line was brilliant, Conan couldn't contain his intrigue and excitement after that.
Nell was just perfection in that remote. She only slightly broke, but she was just so natural and sweet. I felt awful for her when Conan was shredding her hopes of her husband returning. Poor sweet Nell 🥺
Omg after so many years! She didn’t even age
I'm honestly surprised...she played her part so well that I'd always assumed she'd been recruited from an improv group for that remote.
Loved this skit. Hard to say it was his best because so many were so good and funny.
It was kind of disappointing that Conan didn't do this interview himself
@Republicshallriseagain I highly highly doubt that. Conan has a podcast where he speaks with random people with interesting professions, there’s absolutely no way he wouldn’t want to interview her. That skit is also his favourite apparently.
lol cant believe after all these years we finally get the person Conan interacted with during the old timey baseball sketch lol
They should interview people from Conan's remotes more often. I'm dying for one with the lyft driver who drove kevin hart and ice cube around.
