    This is an excellent idea, I’ve always kept away from using oil pastels in colouring books but yes, using the satin glazing liquid is an option in sealing it which I’d not thought of before so thank you! Using the Prismas to neaten up the oil pastel is a great idea too . I’m inspired to experiment with oil pastels now! Thanks again ❤

I tried oil pastels in my coloring books many times but it ends only with a big mess because the colour goes everywhere!! so It's very helpful this idea of sealing oil pastel with the glazing liquid, but here in Europe the Golden brand it's very expensive maybe the Liquitex glazing medium it's the same.. I don’t have prisma’s, there are more expensive here than Polychromos pencils, so yeah….but i’m surprised some people say you can not layer with Prisma’s….they have to look at Chris Cheng. She is the layering queen with Prisma’s! She layer at least 15 times, with a lot of colors….. i love al the RUclipsrs to learn me a lot. It’s all in my head, now it needs to come out!!😊

I used a little yellow because i wanted to make the white into a bit of a cream color so just wanted to change the color there to match my yellow glow that i had in the center of the page. It was not a necessary step just an added extra and also i was lazy to find a yellow acrylic so i just used a bit of watercolor in yellow that was on my desk ! Hope i explained it ok, let me know !

    Hi Maia! New subscriber, love your work❣️ 💖. I have so many questions!!! You are inspiring and waking up all 1000 creativity hamsters and they are running and rolling in my head at the moment 💥🎇🎆 !!! 🤩😋😛 Here I go with my questions!!! Using satin glaze is an awesome idea… but I don’t have any at the moment… do you think mediums like Gamsol, glycerin or even 99% alcool could work for blending? (Even maybe Vaseline?). And also, do you think it would be possible to seal after that ? I have heard some RUclipsrs saying that hairspray (the cheapest of the cheapest only but I don’t remember why…) would be effective (or efficient?) ? Using oil pastels is very appealing to me but the one thing that keeps me from trying it is the fact that I hate using my fingers on mediums. Do you have suggestions for me so I could keep my fingers as clean as possible? I thought maybe paper stumps ? Silicone stumps ? Coton swabs like Q-tips ? Silicone gloves ? Something that works but would also be « Earth friendly » ? Using the oil pastels, how could I get into smaller space- like small petals? I have ADHD so I hope you’ll forgive my over the top questions…. 🤪. thanks in advance!!! 🙏🏻😊. I will probably have to experiment all those possibilities and more but I’m hoping your experience can help me narrow down the list of things to try in those instances! Again very happy to have discovered your channel! I really love all your explanations as you are working! It kept me concentrated 90% of the video. Wich is huge! 🤩. For most people with ADHD, keeping focused is sooooooo hard 😱 especially when the meds aren’t « working », as in right now! 😆.

      Hi !!!! Lol, loved your comment made me laugh ! Ok so first of all i dont used the satin glazing liquid for blending, i use it for sealing. Sealing both oil pastel and chalk /pan pastel. Secondly, yes you can blend oil pastels with a q-tip or try other items but ya i found the fingers is the best and quickest way, i keep make-up wipes nearby and they work great at taking it off my fingers. And yes Hairspray is a great and cheap fixative with i have used in the past but its more toxic to the air you breath so thats why i dont use it, i use the satin glazing liquid because i dont like toxic sprays. Hope that helps !!! Feel free to reach out with more questions anytime, i get a lot of questions, you are not the only one so dont worry. So glad you found my channel and like it ! Have an awesome week dear

    • @coloredbymaia6476
      @coloredbymaia6476  3 месяца назад +1

      Depends! Generally on chalk pastel you can, gel pens will take forever to dry when put on top of it, acrylic markers yes, but if u put a lot of oil pastels down then its hard to do pencils on top of that because it will scratch the layer of oil pastels, if its a thin layer of both the oil pastels and glazing liquids then yes can work on top
