Another genius way to play Smash Ultimate... or maybe not so much.
Boxing Ring stage, random character only and jump is disabled for both players. 100 HP stamina with a launch rate of 0.5 (for whatever reason we thought this was a good idea). And if someone falls out of the ring, he has to lose a stock!

disappointed that when C5 had mewtwo, he didn't try a single disable. That move's weaknesses basically completely disappear in this mode lol

That it doesn't work on aerial opponents, and doesn't work unless the opponent is facing Mewtwo.

@@presion5628 but it's not something you're really gonna do, specially because back airs are out of the table, so every move is gonna turn around you to your oponent

cFive really just forgot about all (non-neutral) special moves for ICs in Stamina mode
bro i was screaming, he didn't use down b a single time and the opponent can't jump to get around it lol, got him in the corner then didn't do it when it was the perfect time, also he didn't spam neutral special with inkling enough even though it outranges isabelle
How he didn’t use a single side-B is beyond me
Here’s an idea for a questionable beef, controller wars. You can do best of five where you can make separate control layouts for the opponent. An input has to be included at least once (at least 1 grab, 1 special, 1 attack, etc.) or if you really want to go into the switch menu and change the button mapping there

So, I think I know why CFive keeps losing. He usually plays extremely passively and cautiously, and he'll usually refuse to be aggressive, preferring to keep distance. I found myself saying, out loud, "just approach him!" in that last match. There were several times where he backed off and let Vyq call the shots, and I don't know why he would do that when he has the upper hand.
The big grin on VYQs face when he whips out the Isabelle hammer on C5 killed me.
So pumped to see you guys leaning into Stamina Mode. This episode was really fun to watch. Bring back picking your own chars! (no repeats would be best)

Hey this reminds me of the mode I made a couple of years ago. Its pretty similar to yours. Boxing ring only, 0.5 knock back, disabled jumps (Or low gravity/heavy jumps), no smash meter. I did 300% stamina instead of 100 and made it invisible it so you wouldn't know how much health you had untill you were around 50 percent (that's around when your chachrater activates the rage/comeback mode). I would only use charahcters who used actual martial arts or didn't have any weapons or powers like Mac, Ryu, Ken, Wii boxer, ect. I called the mode Macs since it's the charahcter I used the most. It's pretty fun and I recommend it to players who are looking for something new to do in the game!
A good challenge would be deactivating the special move button, and you have to play Ryu, Ken, or Terry. The only way to use special moves is to input them, meaning you'd have to input in order to recover.
It's always a trip to hear you guys speak in your first language. I'm not used to hearing smash players sound so cultured.
With no jumping, this looks like a traditional fighting game.

Actually in real boxing, you're allowed to jump, with a good example being the Superman punch. It's just a really bad idea because a boxer's power comes from having a solid foundation
Isn't the superman punch from WWE? Where no direct punching is allowed, so they use their forearm instead?
Or is it really legal in boxing?

How did cFieve played a whole match with Cloud without Up-b out of shield once?
You need a jump button to do up-B OOS properly. You can't do specials without dropping your shield, but you can jump, and you can then cancel your jumpsquat with an up-B or up smash. Without a jump button, your only true OOS option (offensively, at least) is grab; you have to sit through 11 frames of shield drop lag before you can use your up-B or up smash.

@@random0clock That's how it worked in sm4sh, but not in ult. You can up b oos (and upsmash) just fine without jump cancelling, no added shield drop frames. The real answer is that cFive just forgot, or maybe was worried about being minus on hit.

Fun fact: if you keep pressing 0, VyQ will applaud you for as long as you keep doing it... while CFive keeps looking at you weird.
Sick idea! Maybe with some increased knockbacks, and use the KOF stage with walls to allow wall bouncing? Hahaha

This game mode really emphasizes footsies, trying to stay at midrange and not overextend

I tried to pick up metaknight for the leafshield matchup (gnw/pikachu) but then i jumped and didnt land right away and nearly had a panic attack.

My brothers and I did this like a year ago lol. We banned projectiles and swords so it was just dk, puff, little mac, mii brawler, and incineroar iirc

Sephiroth:
Sephiroth's horizontal range is insane as well as very disjointed, plus a great projectile in side b

And last but certainly not least: kazuya, for... very obvious reasons.
Rob would have to be the best character by a mile

You should up the knockback a little so moves aren't so negative on hit, and also not map the grab macro so grabs aren't so overpowered while still allowing command throws to be powerful parts of kits and making reach and spacing the focus, just like with boxing/street fighter footsies.

I think maybe x0.7 or x0.8 launch rate would be better for this in future
x0.5 works really well at keeping people on the ground, and higher rates could end up break that, but increased launch rate would help with so many moves being negative on hit
