Tom, respectfully are you out of your damn mind? It’s the kids 1st weekend as a rookie.
Tom wasn’t perfect out of the gate. He was very good but developed better skills as he was coached. Curran is like the kid who likes a grunge band that nobody has heard of so he can say I found them first!
You have Tom here trying to say Milton looks better than Maye😂 he’s a first rounder for a reason.
Tom, tell us you wish they’d traded down without telling us you wished they’d traded down. Need Phil Perry to get on here and balance out Currans hate.

Curran seems to have lost his fastball when all the draft discussions- kept preaching trade down. That take got tired and now his reports are getting tired.

@@michaellalli7693 He was right. If Maye works it will be the greatest coaching performance ever. He played like crap last year in every game against a good team. His skills are simply horrible. He was the slowest QB getting through reps and getting rid of the ball in all div 1 football last year. It also seams he has a below average field perception.
So Evan Lazar posted about the minicamp and said basically Maye wasn't throwing with near his full velocity because the coaches wanted him to slow down his process so he could concentrate on footwork, turning his hips and throwing motion etc. You don't correct fundamentals by ripping it every throw. Even still, Maye hit every part of the field.
On the other hand, he said Milton rips every pass and completed 1 for 5 on 7 on 7's because he seems unable to ease off.
Curren is sadly becoming another Felger.

Every analyst covering the Patriots: Drake Maye was very accurate. Only had a few misplaced throws. Joe Milton missed quite a few throws. He needs to work on accuracy.

Curran has to remember too that every throw doesn’t need to be thrown with full velocity. Milton throws hard every throw Maye knows when to take some off.
@tyclark7953 I heard an evaluation of Milton that said " He throws with the velocity to hit an 85 yard post route, but he'll also throw with the same velocity to a WR running a slant. Which leads him to be terribly inaccurate on shorter throws.

I think Mayo for his first year coaching the class of players he picked with Wolfe was a B+ a hell of a lot better than Bill but to be fair to Bill he should have never been allowed to control everything he needed someone besides himself or the owners to keep him in check. That’s the owners fault. Let a coach be a coach and surround him with people he can trust to work with him when it is draft time or picking free agents at a reasonable price. I think mayo will be fine as a coach he shows great leadership skills plus he knows what it takes to be a winner and what it takes to get to the Super Bowl. We got to see him as a player and now we get to see him as a head coach. I wish Jerrod Mayo nothing but great success as a head coach.

Camps and all are great, but its game situation that matters. Cam Newton had a strong arm but he couldnt hit the broad side of the barn during a game
THE MOST IMPORTANT THE SPEED, DECISION THROW MAKING, ACCURACY,AND FOOTWORK FOR PRESSURE FOR DRAKE MAYE AND JOE MILTON. JOSH ALLEN HAVE SPEED SO WE HAVE TO UPGRADE THEIR SPEED.
I think if they believe there's even a 30% chance Maye could be our franchise QB, they have to use that #3 pick on him. That Pats have no future until they have a decent QB. And you do not get many chances at drafting a potential franchise QB. If Pats are picking at #8 next year all the top QBs will probably be off the board. I think there's definitely enough evidence that Maye has real potential. I don't think they had any other choice but to go for it

@gamerthe192nd3 well the film already suggested it before we drafted him, the athleticism, arm strength, and talent. everyone was impressed and wanted him but worried about him only having 2yrs of college to everyone else's 5, and being 21, so they wanted and took "the more ready now QB".
During the two days of rookie minicamp we heard that everyone is gravitating towards him, Polk hyping him up, that's awesome, considering Milton is there, I thought Milton was going to steal the show, infact even I was more intrigued and interested seeing Milton bazooka throws.. but, but we haven't heard a peep about him and only saw a few throws but nothing really all that big like yea there's more zip but they didn't hype it or do any hype videos to entertain any thing, so clearly they're not seeing him as the guy or real competition. You know you see all these other rookie QBs hype videos, that's cool and all them fans can talk all that sht you want, but the fact is those QBs don't have another QB with a live arm like Milton's up their-ass competing right there next to them like Drake Maye does, think about that. When Polk, Baker, and Wallace gravitating towards Drake Maye saying he's the guy, that says it all.
@gamerthe192nd3 also they're already working on his foot work and two different stances on day one, when he was talking to the media it sounds like he's embracing it, doesnt sound like he's confused or having a hard time with it, he said its coming to him easy and that he's getting it. He's staying late to 9pm probably watching his own film and development as he goes. I wasn't expecting all that, I thought it was going to be a long process all season long. The narrative of being a big project doesn't seem like the case. At this rate and depending on how he looks in camp, joint practices, and during preseason, he might start week one. I'm just saying.

I get downplaying Maye to keep the pressure and expectations off of him. It was the complete opposite with Mac , but i dont understand the hate. We were spoiled with Brady and those shoes will never be filled. Build around the 21 year old kid over the next year and we can make a push in '25 . Let Maye get the foundation built underneath him and he will be fine . If Drake was " trash " like some of these " experts " want you to think, no team would have wanted to trade up to #3 to get him and he wouldnt have been taken #3 . He has the intangibles and just needs to clean up his footwork, and mechanics. So much damn criticism when he hasnt even taken a snap yet . Watch a compleat game where Maye played a decent team and see if you think that is all he has to fix. Spoiler alert it isn't. He was the slowest QB in all of division 1 football at getting through reads and getting rid of the ball. His field perception seams to be minimal. everything about being a qb needs to improve a lot.
