So here is a current update. This happened on Friday the 13th of December. Today is December 19th, and so far, no further episodes. We think it may have been an adverse reaction to her librela shot (she is not getting the shot anymore). We have a visit with our vet today to discuss this. So we will talk more about this in future videos. But as of today, she has had no further episodes, and it doing well! She scared the living daylights out of us though. . . .
I lost my great dane mix in April this year. He was 12 yrs old. He had been having mobility issues and had difficulty going out to do toilet. My Vet and I discussed the pros and cons of Librela. Scooby-Doo had bad side effects, went into kidney failure and died in his sleep. I feel like the drug was involved as did the vet. She has reported this to the makers of the drug. Glad you stopped it.
Thank you for always prioritizing the health and well being of the girls. Good on you for knowing them so well that you recognized quickly that something was going on and reacted. And of course the Greg, Dan and the others stepped right up and helped. Scary time for everyone for sure, but glad Memphis is doing better. Extra snuggles for Miss Memphis, Kira and Eleanor!
Seems like good luck that the episode happened at the expo! Got a physical therapist to quickly look her over, someone to watch & entertain the other dogs, & an emergency vet 2 min away!

Oh Memphis Belle! Such a scary moment... we had a scare with our Terra girl a bit ago too... had to take her to the urgent care vet and she ended up needing surgery. She's much better now, but you all know, at 11 years old, it's so scary. Terra and Memphis are actually the same age, only about a month apart. They sure know how to scare the living daylights out of us, but we love them so very much. Really hoping one day I get to meet all of you! Hugs and love from California!

That happened with a cat that we had years ago. Gnut had a stroke. Her eyes never recovered. She spent 2 years as a very pampered blind cat. Many prayers to your family . We so love Memphis.❤
That would have scared me to death as well. We all love Memphis so much and none of us want to see anything happen to her. I hope it wasn't a mini stroke. So glad she is doing better now. Our furry ones are our children. They are family. If anything happens to them we panic.
I'm glad to hear Memphis is doing better! Back in October, my pup had to stay at the ER vet for a week because she had a nasty obstruction in her GI tract, so I understand the fright that must have caused.

Watch sherpa days. He had that with his dog too. And it was eventually after all kinds of tests and echos and bloodworm they found out he had cancer. So go persistent on the examinations... they thought it was neurological too. He had problems with his eyes. So better do a full scan of Memphis. So you aren't too late like with sherpa... still hard to watch videos of sherpa. I miss him still although it was a dog i never met. Big hugs and lots of courage... ❤❤❤
My cat Tiddles had something similar happen keep an eye on her. When you do get back to your vet maybe ask if there’s any tests they can do. I’m not a vet or anything but you guys are doing great. I’ve been a fan since Oakley
My Male Husky had vestibular syndrome. I let him outback, he walked around for a few minutes, next thing I know he went down, rolled twice. I ran over and grabbed him. Yelled for my Husband. We both thought he had a stroke. Rushed him to the ER Veterinarian. His regular Veterinarian was not there. She was a new graduate. She told us it was vestibular ( Old Dog Syndrome ) his eyes were so scary. Gave him something for nausea. He would not eat for 2 days. Called his regular Vet. He asked if he was given Meclizine. I work in a Pharmacy, talk about feeling stupid. After a day of meclizine his appetite came back. He was 12 1/2. It only happened once. He almost made it to 16. He was a trooper. Several surgeries to remove nerve sheath tumors. A canine slab fracture. You do what you can for them. They bring us so much joy.
I’m sure you both are extremely worried for Memphis, and I hope now that you’re back home the doctors will definitively figure out what caused that episode soon. Love, hugs, and scritches!
So glad she's doing better ❣️🌹. Down here we have gypsum weed. There's also moonlight flowers, So beautiful, I had one and their scent at night! I loved it. However, once I found out they're Belladonna, Toxic, and basically can be harvested as a hallucinogen, I destroyed it😢. I couldn't fathom my children, pets, or God forbid, some teenagers coming into my yard to harvest some. To get to the point, my dogs will sniff, eat, play in the grass. If they took a blood sample, maybe they can test for Belladonna? It's a hallucinogen, narcotic, and a toxin. 😢 I've Seen the effects and called poison control when a teenager had...utilized gypsum. Poison control said that "If she's not dead, then all she can do is ride it out." 😮😢 Her family, we, were terrified. But it did cause unstability, And it completely blew her pupils. As in they couldn't dialate. The next day she went outside, and came instantly inside. The sun had nearly blinded her. 24 hours later, the effects were minimal. Sorry So long, but there's so many variations of Belladonna out there. So... maybe. With the symptoms you spoke of, I thought neurotoxin.🥺
Something kind of similar happened to my cat a number of years ago, where suddenly without warning her back end completely gave out. She was dragging her back legs as they were completely useless at that time, but within 30 minutes or so she started being able to use them again, and within an hour she was a bit stiff but able to walk otherwise normally and jump up on chairs and whatnot as usual. She is almost 14 now and has never had a repeat episode or anything similar happen again, and nothing was ever found to have been the cause. Weird stuff! Hopefully this is a one time thing only with dear Memphis as well 💚
Poor Memphis so sorry we missed the expo we planed on going them my grand daughter got sick. So glad to here you guys stop giving her the librela very bad drug I blame it for taking my husky at 13 years old. She was fine until 12 1/2 then they gave her the librela & everything went down hill for us. Praying for Memphis recovery. :)

my puppy had two instances like that. once was a pinched nerver back end.. the other was a lil itty bitty stroke
