I used to have 15 foot ceilings in my house and the walls were absolutely awful to clean. For some reason our landlord also had the contractors put the fire alarm over the stairs so you had to climb on the only shaky ass rickety ladder of death in the building and precariously hang over the stairs to change the batteries when they ran out. 😂
Wish you like with finding an apartment! (Tips: youll want space for sure so dont go to small it will be frustrating, even if you thought it was cosy you’ll eventually hate it. Make sure you pick one with good neighbors, if you can hangout in one you like for a day or outside for a while and learn what happens, also make sure management is reasonable. Oh also go for a balcony, you need time outside and if you dint wanna change outve your pjs or put on makeup or anything then you can go out there, or if you just want private timeoutside. And finally, consider your atea, if your in an area with high flood risk, storm(hurricanes etc) risk or fire risk then use that to take into account, ask about the water resistence and the strenght of the walls, ask about the balance of the structure or the fire resistence (respectively). Finding a place your comftorbla with and if you can pic the floor, also go by risk. For example if you live in a dry/hot area youll want to be lower down incase of a fire (also more comfortable if its hot) same with storms but floods are, iffy. Id probably go middle of the building for that? And if the are youre in is safe go by temperature, the hotter the temperature the lower the floor) and thats my somewhat reasonable advice from someone who never went apartment hunting, so you dont have to listen but i think its good advice? Open for corrections in the replies!

So, if you find a place that you love, that has everything you need, and that you can readily afford, don’t pass up on it just because “it doesn’t feel like home”.

Believe me, there are a million and one things to get frustrated about during the home buying process, but that one statement “this doesn’t feel like home” is the biggest because if you can’t get your client to use their imaginations a little bit and see themselves there, you won’t be able to help them at all. Being in the real estate industry takes a lot of perseverance to not only overcome the hurdles yourself but to also help your clients overcome those hurdles as well. As an agent, you are the driving force of any deal. You have to imagine yourself as a vehicle of sorts, and if you decide to be a sedan vs a tank when it comes to getting your client to make the “hard” decisions, then you don’t get to decide how anything goes. You might as well kiss that client’s dreams, your pay, and all of your work up until that point goodbye. What the general public doesn’t understand is that agents don’t make any money at all unless they sell something. We don’t get paid hourly for all the work we do, so yes some of us are pushy because we need to make ends meet too. But a good agent does it for themselves AND their clients!
