If you have a couple of days in Cappadocia, you MUST go on a hot air balloon ride! It was our favorite thing to do in Cappadocia and maybe even Turkey (the trip continues...)! Follow our journey across Turkey here: instagram.com/worldwildhearts/
Depending on the company you choose. We paid a little more because we chose an 8-person balloon and with the most reputable company in town. There are companies offering for as low as 60-80€ but they might have up to 30 people in the balloon
Me and my partner are going to Turkey in October and after watching your video we are both excited. We have booked with Royal Balloon Cappadocia already. Thank you and enjoy life🥰
Had a friend on a tour there some 5 years ago. One of the guests fell out as they made a rought landing and he was crushed and killed under the basket. At that time I followed up on accidents there. There are many, but they are mostly hushed down by police and authorities, always claiming that the tourist must have done something wrong. This guy must have been standing up taking photografs, they said. But he wasn't. So as it was his own fault, it is not in the statistics.
No you don’t land in the same place because the wind pushes the balloon in any direction that it’s going that day. For us, we landed in a very different spot but it depends on the amount of wind. With little wind, you might land not too far! September is a great time! Enjoy ☺️
Probably about a week before that! We were there during the low season though (it was fall season + COVID was still a thing). During the summer it might be better to plan ahead!
i am a wheelchair person but i can get up and walk short distances. is this doable for me? did the royal ballon picked you up from the airport or hotel?
Royal balloon did pick us up from the hotel! It might be hard to get into the balloon with wheelchair, but maybe if you contact them, they might have a solution for that?
I cannot go on roller coasters in Magic Mountain or Universal Studios, Hollywood since I am afraid of going down too fast & suddenly! I can’t hike up the mountain either since high elevation makes me like fainted. However, I can fly in an airplane in 16 hours. Do you think I can handle hot balloon rides? Also it seemed they didn’t let you go to the restroom since the time they pick you up at your hotel until they drive you home , which might be like 3 hours, did you? Please let me know asp since I might go to Cappadocia soon. Thank you so much!
Thanks for reaching out! If you’re afraid of heights, then the hot air balloon might not be for you. You go quite high up in the air and there is open air around you. Although you do go very slow the whole time, so it is relaxing that way compared to a roller coaster. In terms of your bathroom question, we did have the option to use the bathroom at the meeting point prior to getting on the balloons. Then the balloon ride lasted about 1 hour. So in total, you would be away from the bathroom for about two hours including the car ride to and from the balloon central meeting point in town.
You can book it directly with them or we also use Get Your Guide for many of our tours. This is the link: www.getyourguide.com/s?partner_id=57UJ5GF&placement=content-middle&cmp=Cappadocia_video&q=Avanos&et=13754&lc=983
I have limitation with my left knee due to a recent surgery…..do you think I will be helped in getting into the basket? Is there a ladder that can help me climb on the basket?
Sorry for the late reply! Yes, im sure they will help you get into the basket if needed. There was a ladder for us to get in and the staff also helped us up to make sure we didn’t get hurt. To be extra sure, we recommend sending the company you book with an email prior to your flight. Let them know about your knee and they will note it for the flight
The balloons do go all year long. We did ours flight at the end of October and it was pretty cold first thing in the morning. If you want a warmer flight, the captain recommended going in the spring or summer
We went at the end of October. It was already pretty cold at that time! You can find the link to the hot air balloon in the description under the video. That has the prices
We took off at Pasabag which was right behind Rose / Red Valley. But the balloons take off at different points each morning depending on which way the wind is going that morning

@@worldwildhearts Ah okay..thank you!
I had nothing but headaches with the Royal balloons. You were probably paid or given a gift.
No to both of your "assumptions". We paid for it ourselves. BTW a video would be marked sponsored if it were so :)

During the morning (sunrise). You’ll be able to see them if you go early! The sky around Göreme will be filled with thrm
Beautiful
