Ok.... this is the second video I have watched about the true mirror.... What is the science behind this? They looked the same in both mirrors, imo... but I am so depressed-if this works, I am going to find one of these mirrors. I feel it is a psy-op, but I feel the need to give it a shot.

Hi Karen, thanks for asking about the True MIrror. The theory behind how this works is that our faces are different on each side, not just physically, but in the messages that are communicated from each side. This is because our brains are different left from right, so whatever we are thinking and feeling about is processed in different ways on each side, and are subsequently expressed differently on each side. When you reverse the sides as in the everyday mirror, the messages get altered by appearing on the opposite side, basically because the way we interpret faces is fixed for everyone with left on the left, right on the right. when you put the left on the right and right on the left, the map we use to read faces just doesn't work that well, which then we respond to instantly, then see that response in reverse, then respond to that, over and over in this communication feedback loop that always has that information distortion. Because expressions don't look natural, we cant respond naturally, and thus we tend to shift to a more staring version of us. Especially expressions with light and life in them, the ones that express joy and happiness look very forced and fake (try to smile in a mirror, you cant do it for more than a second or two before it doesn't feel right), and thus we don't see our positive expressions. Unfortunately our negative ones, the frowns and sadness look just as sad and frowny backwards as forwards, and actually increase, and have a layer of criticism and judgement on top of them, instead of the compassion and empathy you might get from a close friend. So the True MIrror is meant to address this - enabling you to see yourself as you actually are, to see your actual thoughts and feelings in an accurate and ongoing way. This both helps you to see yourself as you are, but also lets you see how much the regular mirror has been throwing a more negative version at you. Its designed as a tool for self-awareness, that you can really process yourself correctly. Depression will still be there for you, but when you look into your eyes, you can work with yourself, asking questions like "why am I so sad", "what is really going on?", "how am I supposed to deal with this?", "can i see a way out?", and so forth, and you will get good information from yourself that can start to find a way out (vs the regular mirror which always seems to be the same old same old with more despair than progress). All of this is my beliefs about this mirror, both from personal experience as well as hearing back from many others. the research from a scientific standpoint and therapeutic standpoint still needs to be done, but that is the primary reason for the True Mirror - to help us get through our issues as well as to confirm to us when we have been successful in that work. It will show up as validation and joy in your eyes, as you do reach new milestones on your pathway, and/or just having the contrast of your real self with all its range of expressions and emotions to override the rather flat and dulled out version of you that the mirror reflects. Hope that helps.

by the way, to you, she might look the same, but to her, the way the true mirror is reflecting herself authentically is brand new. Its the idea that our reflection is actually matching what is real within us, so our response can be real. watch some more videos to see different examples of how well this works for them, and some you will clearly see the difference in the eyes
