Comics have proven to be a great medium for telling complex historical narratives, weaving intimate personal experiences and multiple points-of-view, into broad, visual canvases. Hillary Chute whose groundbreaking book “Disaster Drawn: Visual Witness, Comics and Documentary Form,” marked her as a preeminent scholar on this topic, will lead a conversation with three comics creators whose work deals with historical conflicts, ranging from armed uprisings to perseverance under a totalitarian regime.
Moderator: Hillary Chute Panelists: Bill Campbell, John Vasquez Mejias, Emei Burell
