Wow Steve that's brilliant camera work . anyone who thinks it's easy to capture lighting needs to try it you done a fantastic job and very professional mate 👍👍👍👍👍
I've gone from a storm avoider to a storm lover - but only as far as the back doorstep. I won't physically travel any further than that! you're looking at someone who, when moving into where I am now, travelled across half a mile on foot carrying a metal shower rail just as a storm was breaking. never been so bloody terrified!! worse: through trees. these stormas have been like buses - none for ages and then two show up. 🤣 there's a chance of more at the weekend 😁
I'm still mad at myself now! I was going to jump in my car and drive down the M55 from Preston to watch this storm, but the radar models had a cell building around Chorley with the same path as the one where the Kirkham/Lytham/Blackpool storm tracked. The one over Chorley became nothing more than a thundery shower in the end. Gutted!
blackpool on the news today the councils said the sewage works at fleetwood have sent thousands of gallons of sewage into the river and its going right along the fylde coast
Well here in St Annes (3miles down the coast) we have to collect all the seagulls and bed them down in special GullHuts along the promenade (near the excellent Salter's Wharf pub) just before the storm starts. They resisted at first but then realised they would be warm and comfy till the storm passed. In fact, just before this they were starting to form lines near their huts so it looks like they're getting used to it. Cracking vid as usual Steve - thanks.
One good thing about all that heavy rain ,it might break up all the sewage that they've just flooded the Fylde coast with . Perhaps put a warning out to not swim in the sea .
Great work there thanks Stephen.

I was hoping to be there on Saturday
Unbelievable filming Stephen
Beautiful. Shame we can’t harness all that power and use it.
Really good you did have a bad storm
Had to take a screenshot 👍
BTW - You want to really own that cloud to ground shot at 0:59 with the tower in it. That will be worth some dough if you get that published mate.
Yeah I’m pretty pleased with what I got.
That Ligtening Bolt just didn't wanna give up it thought again here hsve sme more like noo go away ffs
In Blackpool everything is done big style.
Watch it in slow motion mode 😮
0:57 what a shot
That's an angry skyline there Stephen
💚
blackpool on the news today the councils said the sewage works at fleetwood have sent thousands of gallons of sewage into the river and its going right along the fylde coast
That sky looks so angry.
Wow great video. What camera did you use to film it?
Awesome. They don't seem to hit the tower though. Why's that do you think?
I’m still waiting to get a strike on the Tower. I’ll keep trying!
Absolutely loved this video but I wonder where all the birds and the seagulls go in this weather
