Thank you for the info! I'm about to start this drug after colon cancer surgery. You made me feel more comfortable about this.

@@SurvivingBreastCancer doing great! Finish 8 rounds. All markers are perfect. Tumor was removed with no metastasis - thank God! I'm cured. Still have some residual neuropathy in hands and feet, little brain fog. I'm sure you can relate. Thanks for checking in and thanks for the video. I'll say again it was very comforting to see how you handled it. You never know the lives you touch. Hoping all is well with you!?
      Thanks, Dennis

It’s such a blessing that RUclips recommended this video to me! I’ve just started on this drug and had to stop my first cycle short unfortunately. I got very sick with toxicity and was vomiting and diarrhoea. I also lost 3kg in 6 days. I’m seeing my oncologist on Thursday and hope she has a plan of action for me. I’m on a high dose of 5x 500mg in the morning and 4x 500mg in the evening. Hoping that can be lowered to a more tolerable dose. Thanks for sharing your journey!

How did your appointment go with your oncologist? Xeloda is a really hard drug to take. Hopefully you can find the right dose and something that works for you. Please keep us posted!

@@SurvivingBreastCancer thank you so much for your message. My oncologist lowered my dose to 4 x 500mg in the morning and 3 x 500mg in the evening. I'm on day 8 of Cycle 2 and seem to be tolerating it much better now thankfully. I'm just taking one day at a time because it's hard to imagine getting through 6 cycles of this chemo, but I'm determined to give it the best go I can. It's my insurance policy against BC recurrence. Thanks again for asking how I'm going. Much love.

I’ve been on Capecitabine (Xeloda) for a little over a year now. In the beginning I was taking 5 in the morning 5 at night and it was wreaking havoc on my feet and hands, plus a lot of nausea. I was eventually lowered to 2 pills 💊 in the morning and 2 at night. I still have brittle finger nails and my feet, (heals especially) and tips of my toes are very cracked and pealing. I too use Aquaphor and other moisturizing creams to help with the dryness and pain. I often wear fluffy socks 🧦 because I mostly have hardwood floors and I also have rheumatoid arthritis. So it’s been frustrating. I recently passed 8 years on February 27th battling stage 4 MBC. Your videos and podcasts have been really helpful. My schedule is 3 weeks on, and 1 week off. 🌼🌹☀️

@@SurvivingBreastCancer The hand and foot syndrome had me bleeding like the stigmata. I had to get an electric scooter to get around campus. I’m off it now, but not for good reasons: We can’t find a chemo that works on my tumors! So now I’m in palliative care.
