I'm actually super impressed that Pana can stay injury free with his squat and deadlift form. Man's got a spine made of titanium.
It scares me he only weights 66kg.
I'm impressed he's pushed through to elite weights with that build. I have a very similar build of long arm, long femur and short torsos. And my lifts looked very similar to that.
Form doesn't influence injury rate.

Basically deadlifting, but with the bar on his back.
His stance seems too narrow compared to his old squat technique, maybe that's the issue
I love Clarence's form. I have started lifting recently, and I've realized it's much easier to rush into wanting to lift more than getting the form right. You can see how much time and effort Clarence has invested in his form. To have such impeccable form at those volumes is inspirational.

it just looks rlyyyy ugly, tbh seeing only powerlifter squats is not aesthetically pleasing, it was watching weightlifters do it that made me wanna get strong in the squat (even if i clearly don't have the same mobility lol)

When you build strength, you're building a concrete foundation. It takes a long long time for that to disintegrate. On the flip side, muscle volume/size is lost relatively fast.
If clarence kept training throughout 2025, I guarantee he could get back to relatively high numbers. Somewhere in the 270, 280 backsquat range.

230 for 4 at what, 80 kg BW? Aight 2.9x BW Squat for 4, with clarence form... All that after only trying hard for a month. Seeing him squat is baffling me everytime, being that strong with that form and barspeed. Truly the most 'aesthetic' in the fitness industry. Edit: I clicked play, and the next words i heard were his BW, its 86/87 so 2.7x BW Squat. Still very impressive.
what do you call it when you descend really fast in the squat if it's even called something? I normally engage push on descending at about 50-60% so that I have far less of a curve to turn at the bottom to come back up with....I feel like if I descend that fast I get stuck and the ascension is way too difficult for me. I call it cratering.

Question - it always looks like your feet are misaligned (left further back than right) but it may just be the camera angle. Is this the case and what works for you or just camera trickery

its french low bar, placed around the mid back, lower than the standard low bar which is at rear delts, it lets you use your hips and low back more for hip drive
@@siegfriedyvojcic8294 I know very well what's low bar vs high bar, one thing is having a low bar to use the back a bit more and another whole world is LITERALLY doing a GOOD MORNING to put it up.
@@savageryflyer5391 We both squat a bit same, I also utilize low bat in my training, having long femurs and short torso makes us lean forward but the good morning squat is not inherently dangerous but it has its risks but just have to build up the tolerance, that is also the reason I go back to high bar just to use the legs more and be more upright and save my back and hips for deadlifting
@@siegfriedyvojcic8294 you can't defend a squat where you're lifting the weight doing a leverage with your back, it's simply dangerous and a 100% long term injury/lifetime pain. It ain't an excuse, period.

It's lowbar squat and he still lifts that weight
The "curly haired guy" is one of the most elite powerlifters at the moment. Top 3 in 66kg class. But yeah he does intentionally round his upper back a lot and does a "French low bar" squat, which is very low on the back and very bent over.
