    How do I take my standard moa dial off my vx freedom with the Creedmoor recticle because it doesn't have the three set screws

  • @charlesludwig9173

    This is means to understanding where the barrel is pointed which is superior to any other bullet drop compensation scheme, simply because the user can order a custom dial set to likely environmental conditions rather than standard atmospheric conditions. But it may be better too in standard atmospheric conditions because the dial can be set to shooters chosen factory round or handload. Now, the only dumb thing that Leupold has done is stop offering mil reticle and MOA dial combination, which gets the shooter an exacting dialed zero and quick hold for elevation or ranging from reticle. Plus sith MOA dials shooter can use MOA wind constant formula for either a favor on inches or dialing procedure that is most appropriate for conditions. In other words is favoring from a reticle hold more or less trustworthy than dialing wind from a hold. For me I will take the no longer made Leupold Mk4 M3 over any Leupold made today. For sure Leupold needs to stop producing scopes only with features that novice shooters want like matching dials and reticle and start offering mil reticle/MOA dial offerings again.

    What temperature degrees are we talking, Fahrenheit or Celsius? If I decide to use a different cartridge can I go back to original dial and adjust from there?

    • @LeupoldOptics
      @LeupoldOptics  8 месяцев назад +1

      We go by temperature in ºF. Yes, you can always put your original dial back on or even burn a new CDS for shooting in a different region.

    I ordered my dial for Hornady precision hunter 6.5 creedmore @ 2700 fps, using a friend’s chronograph I was getting 2600 - 2620 fps , how far off will my dial be? I have tried it past 100 yards yet, thanks

    In the video you mention for temperature the CDS is good for +/- 20 degrees, I’m assuming this is in Fahrenheit? Located in Canada just wanted clarification lol thanks!

    I ordered a leupold cds scope that came with 1 free custom dial. I had my custom dial set to 200 yards. I noticed the dial only goes up in yardage. Meaning, I do not see a 1 or 1.5 for 100 or 150 yards. Am I missing something? How do I account for shooting at 100 yards with my custom zero set at 200 yards?

    • @dagrazytcom5492
      @dagrazytcom5492 8 месяцев назад +1

      That sounds like an issue with you zeroing at 200. When you sent in the cds information to get your free cds dial, you most definitely typed in your zero at 200 yards. Never zero at 200, it's ridiculous. Your dial doesn't have a 100 or 150 yard because it's a zero stop, it stops at YOUR zero. YOUR zero is 200, so it only stops at 200. This system isn't built to allow you any 'back clicks'. Only can go forward, not back.

      If you zeroed in your gun at 100 yards. The 0 on the scope would indicate 100 yards. The dial is made for what your sight in distance was.

    I recently bought a scope and I am wanting to do the cds but I’m stuck on a question, do u use the muzzle velocity from 0 yards or 100 yards

    • @LeupoldOptics
      @LeupoldOptics  4 месяца назад

      Muzzle velocity is the velocity at the muzzle (close to 0 yards).

    • @LeupoldOptics
      @LeupoldOptics  4 месяца назад

      You use the Muzzle velocity which would be at the muzzle so zero yards.

    If I set an elevation at 3,000 ft and say I go hunt at 7,000 ft how far off are we talking here? I live and hunt at 1320 but also hunt at high elevation In different parts of my state.

    If you zero at 100yds and 2=200 3=300 4=400 and so forth then what does the 1= on the dial. Seems 1 would equal 100 but it can’t if 0 was 100. Confused

    • @LeupoldOptics
      @LeupoldOptics  6 месяцев назад +2

      If you zero your rifle at 100 yards, the 1 = 100 yards and there will be no 0 labeled on the custom dial.

      Zero at 100 yards. Set the dial to 1 when you install it. I do not think there is a zero on the dial.
