    Wonderfully explained. One stop video to clearly understand all basics of the orifice meter.

    So sorry but no clue what all the math is. But also very interested because I work with orifices. But don't really get it. Usually 17/64" >. I'm trying to figure out my own orifice to certain parameters (liquid and air psi), to get the most efficiency with less trial and error. And advice. Ps. Please dumb it down little bit. Lol

    Bro why pressure drop is occured after passing through orifice hole.it should increase no? Due to change in dia of pipe!

      Pressure gets dropped when liquid passes through orifice hole..

      Due to decrease in area of cross section on entering the orifice, velocity of fluid flow increases according to continuity equation/mass conservation A1V1=A2V2. According to Bernoulli's Equation, pressure drops as velocity increases. We measure this drop in pressure between upstream and orifice to calculate mass flow rate. On the other side of the orifice, the velocity decreases and pressure increases but the original pressure won't be attained due to frictional and turbulence losses in the real fluid and there is a permanent pressure drop, which is one of the demerits of the orifice meter.

    Why is it require to make fliw streamline ...what if we let the fluid flow as it is?..

    • @EngineersAcademy9204
      @EngineersAcademy9204  4 года назад +1

      Nice question ! When turbulent flow moves in the pipeline it causes the vibrations in the pipeline.. to damp that vibrations extra supports and dampners will be required. Also this turbulent flow can damage the other instruments/ valves fitted in the line.. in that turbulent flow the solid particles can move in anydirection and damage the instrument. whereas in case of laminaar .. if there is any solid particle it will rest at bottom side. !
