8:53 I know there are great Korean artists who have come to the USA previously and not gained as much attention but BTS didn't just pop out of nowhere even if it seems like it to most people. They've been visiting the US for years and worked hard slowly building up an international fanbase. They came to Kcon LA back in 2014, came with the Red Bullet tour in 2015, returned for Kcon 2016 and again for their Wings tour the start of 2017 before they got invited to the BBMA's/AMA's and really started to blow up in western mainstream media over the last couple of years. One of the reasons they're doing so well and breaking these records is because they've built up such a dedicated fanbase over time.
To anyone who’s not familiar with BTS and wonders about Halsey in this, the MV doesn’t show her much but she has more parts on the album version. She even sings in Korean ! Props to her, she did amazing on their collab. Thank you for your reaction, it’s always nice to see what people think of BTS and their music !
It’s okay, some people aren’t as involved with BTS as others are, she’ll probably get the message though. 🤗 I’m just happy he’s getting the hype he deserves y’know
imagine thinking that bts became popular right away. bts struggled for years before even getting noticed in their own country. they were prevented from performing or cut out of broadcasts because their company was poor. i'm proud of them because they overcame those struggles and are honest about how they manage their popularity today.
Every time someone talks about what they first were when they started off, I think of when the maknae line was going around, handing out flyers for their concert, saying that it was free... it's just so amazing how far they've come, and the amount of records they've broken

The I-ARMY was accumulating years before their first Billboard award. I think it only seemed sudden because of the media attention the award got and the correlating increase in the fanbase as they directed more of their product to the US markets instead of the general international market (BH also hired a person specifically to help them target the US market). The fans were already there and so was the product, it just wasn't noticeable until after they became really huge.
It's no secret that the BTS fanbase, ARMY, is huge but why is that? It's because BTS does so much more than just music. They talk about issues and gives encouragement to people who are struggling, in their songs. By them doing this, it really touches on many people's hearts and provides a sort of safe haven for all these people who are struggling to live life and reality. This is why their fanbase is so big and why so many people love them.
BTS didn't just so happen to make it in the US market, they actually weren't even trying to enter the market, it was just something that happened as a result of their global fame. They didn't promote here, make an english song, nothing, they just accumulated so many fans in the US that their albums just started showing up on BB200, Hot100, etc. due to the sheer volume being purchased or listened to by domestic fans. BTS was always more popular globally than in Korea, global fans caught on and grew with the korean base and propelled BTS into the fame you see today. Their global fame made korea take a pause and finally start appreciating them properly. BTS is an enigma - I don't see another group capable of overtaking them yet.

In fact, the first time they entered the US market it was with their album HYYH Pt. 2 in 2015, which debuted on Billboard 200 at No. 171. And it was completely by accident, literally no one expected it. Ever since then, it’s been a steady rise to the top. It took 3-4 years. No disrespect but I wouldn’t go around making assumptions about how they rapidly rose to fame. Because they didn’t. They worked so hard for it and honestly, they deserve ALL the hype. BoA had slightly dated music and a focus on Japan, her achievements over there are amazing and shouldn’t be looked down on because they weren’t western. BTS have worked very hard and continue to do so, there has never been a time easy for idols, be they past ones or the ones now. With BTS they’ve had to work hard, whilst being sent food and clothes from Dana because their company went bankrupt, their hard work is what’s paid off.

In the audio, there is actually wayyy more Halsey vocals than in the music video. The valid reason for this is because BTS can promote the one with less Halsey parts on Korean music shows (because she can’t be there with them to perform it due to her own activities). It’s just easier in a way.
Nothing can stand in their way. The only way truly is up, the one obstacle they have to overcome now is gravity. Incidentally, planes and helicopters may stand in their way actually.
The reason why you can’t really hear Halsey is that was the performance version because she can’t always be there to perform with BTS. If you listen to the audio version/studio version you can hear that Halsey has more parts
There are plenty other groups but for me BTS is different. They stand out to me. Their hardwork is paying off. They are huge now but they still remain the same as before. So humble so grateful.
BTS didn't break into the u.s market in only 1 year. They have been on the rise since 2015 starting with their HYYH trilogy. They attended the AMAs in 2017. Other idols work hard, true, but let's not imply that BTS had it easy.

@9:08 BTS haven’t actively tried to break into the market, their growth is organic. BoA had slightly dated music and a focus on Japan, her achievements over there are amazing and shouldn’t be looked down on because they weren’t western.
BTS have worked very hard and continue to do so, there has never been a time easy for idols, be they past ones or the ones now.
With BTS they’ve had to work hard, whilst being sent food and clothes from Dana because their company went bankrupt, their hard work is what’s paid off.

Halsey has more lines in the studio version of the song. She actually sings in every chorus in that version. The reason they did this was because korean boy bands have lots of live performances and since close to all their live performances are in Korea, Halsey can't exactly perform with them every single time.

for those who don’t know: yes in the music video Halsey has little lines but that’s because that’s the tour version for when they go on tour and obviously can’t have her travel with them just to sing that song. if you look up the audio version you’ll find that she has many more lines and sometimes sings the chorus and other lines other then oh my my my

In the audio, there is actually wayyy more Halsey vocals than in the music video. The valid reason for this is because BTS can promote the one with less Halsey parts on Korean music shows (because she can’t be there with them to perform it due to her own activities). It’s just easier in a way.

The reason why you can’t really hear Halsey is that was the performance version because she can’t always be there to perform with BTS. If you listen to the audio version/studio version you can hear that Halsey has more parts
There are plenty other groups but for me BTS is different. They stand out to me. Their hardwork is paying off. They are huge now but they still remain the same as before. So humble so grateful.

BTS didn't break into the u.s market in only 1 year. They have been on the rise since 2015 starting with their HYYH trilogy. They attended the AMAs in 2017. Other idols work hard, true, but let's not imply that BTS had it easy.

In the MV Ver Halsey isn’t included much she mostly does harmonies- but there is the Spotify Ver where she sings more and more parts of the song are in English- they probably did this as they will be performing and Halsey cannot appear every time they perform this song.

Halsey worked so hard to get all of the choreography correct and she practiced so much to be able to sync with the other BTS members. I feel like people including some army don't appreciate what she has actually done for this music video.
Exactly!. People think dance choreography is easy. But it isn’t!. As a dancer, i can say this from experience. People need to be more appreciative of the ‘small’ things. 💜
