Some shield breaks are insane shield pressure, some are just confusing because they just hold shield and don’t even attempt a counter play for a long time

It's funny Jigglypuff is still the only character that has that gimmick since it's meant to resemble a balloon popping. Honestly it's so rare to see Jigglypuff's stun animation and I think the only two ways to see it is from using Mewtwo's Disable or a possible side effect from Seph's Supernova FS.
I'm literally still on the first clip but I've had to watch it like ten times now. That Sephiroth is cracked for knowing that's a real punish
Normally, I complain about stun mechanics on the basis that it just gives the opponent a free shot. And while this holds true in Smash Bros., I actually don't have a problem with shield breaks. Something has to be there to stop you from spamming them willy-nilly. Plus, isn't it just so satisfying seeing the stronger characters break practically full shields instantly?

Agree with shield breaks being fun, but I think stun mechanics are also useful in this situation : most characters have multiple useless moves that only become useful in the context of stuns and such (including shield breaks, buries, crumbles, sleep effect, ... and sadly also trips but trips are bad for other reasons)

This is exactly why I rarely ever use shields in Smash. Would rather take a bit of damage tryna dodge than risk taking a TON of damage after a shield break stun.

Range is very important and trades too is bad but always has to be done is bad but if there is ever deadlocks in the air or on the ground tapping different attackable strokes in the direction you want the opponent to be on would be nice.

As a guy that mains Hero and Robin, I know what it's like to whiff grabs all the time.
@@sharifbrown3567 I know for a fact her grab _did_ need to be toned down. But IMO, they toned it down way too much.
@@GhostbusterPalu I mean, did they really? Most non-tether grabs in Ultimate have awful reach so now hers is just as awful as the rest. You're saying that as if half the roster wouldn't also whiff from that distance.
On top of that, for whatever reason both of her grab attempts were full shield drop grabs, not even shield grabs with which she might have been able to catch Byleth's extended hurtbox before he reset to his idle stance.
All swordies have trash dash grabs. That's just the way it is, and the way it should be because characters having great shield pressure AND a good dash grab would be stupid...
...that is until Aegis came along but we don't need to talk about that.
