    Thumbs up for rocking Orion subs but u should've paired them w an Orion amp.

      Orion 1500.1 amp is where it's at!

    Do you think 1 10 inche is good enough or needs a second one

    Looks like they could use more power. Did you turn up the gain?

    Have you tried them sealed? I'm considering a single 10" sealed for my Ram regular cab. I'm also wondering if you've heard a JL W1 since I modeled both in a computer program and they seem to have a similar response, but with the XTR reaching slightly deeper bass.

    Those must be single coil if they are wired at 1 ohm right?

      ray medina no, they were DVC. The final impedance was 2 ohms at one channel. I couldn’t run a 1 ohm final load, both because they were dual 2ohms and the amp would have been running below recommended impedance level for output.

      ray medina actually, thinking about it, the amp may have been stable at 1 ohm, but I couldn’t have ran one ohm final to just the one channel with two D2 subs

      Jordan Hargrove ya i think two 2 ohm dvcs can be ran at .5 ohms not one but that would over heat the amp and toast it.

      ray medina I have a fluke meter and had it measuring 2ohms final. If you run them in series/parallel then you come out with 2 ohms if you run parallel/parallel then you get .5 ohms

    WEIRD i just bought an orion xtr 10 dual 4ohm on amazon and it has 8 screw holes!

    • @Jhargrove110
      @Jhargrove110  5 лет назад

      rmblwgn these have 8
      There is a factory rim around the mounting plate on this, and it just shows 4 holes

    the xtr are 500 rms and it's impossible to wire two d2 subs to 1 ohm

    • @Jhargrove110
      @Jhargrove110  8 лет назад +3

      Paul Painter if you wire the coils in series (+ to -) and the woofers in parallel you get 2 ohms final impedance (for the two woofers) And you can wire a single dual 2 ohm sub to 1 ohm by running the voice coils in parallel

      yeah they are rated 500 rms each not 250

      u2bed91 I'm not the biggest fan on JL in an SPL build. Great for audiophiles but not for me. I haven't done anything with these in a sealed enclosure, but they preform very nicely, I doubt you will be disappointed in just about any enclosure as long as it's built to spec and is built well
