Hi @TheTechne! Love your videos so much!
Currently I'm planning to replace my old headset HyperX Cloud Core (Don't feel the comfortable, after long work or gaming sessions I tend to suffer from headaches).
I'm debating between the G335, G435, HyperX Cloud Stinger Core 2 and Arctis Nova1.
I just want them to be stinkin cozy 1st rule lol... good sound and not a terrible mic.
I saw your reviews on them, except the HyperX one, which seems you haven't reviewed the Core 2 ones.
Anyway, which one do you recommend? Thanks a lot!

I love IEMs. I've been using the Moondrop Aria after my MEE M6 Pro went out and I can't go back to headsets. IEMs have the potential to sound so much better, have solid sound stage, fantastic comfort and no headband pressure whatsoever. The only competing sound device I found to IEMs has been a good set of Bookshelf speakers/monitors. I really like that Razer is dabbling into the IEM market with this, but I have no idea how they stack up against my current Moondrop Aria IEMs or if I want to spend the money. I've also found IEMs to be great for everything, not just shooters. I like them with music, movies, TV Anime and all sorts of games.

I have Moondrop Aria IEMs ($80) and I've had MEE M6 Pro ($50) and I think their sound stages have been great. When the audio works in Apex Legends I could hear other players locations and sounds better than any headset I've tried. Though like Techne said the quality can vary a lot depending on the IEM.
Can't say much for enabling virtual surround as I usually don't worry about that feature as regular stereo had always been enough for me. Though now I'm curious lol. Just make sure you keep your receipts if you start trying them all out. My experience with IEMs has been great.

The shape of this IEM is "Pre-customed shape" foam factor. Its shape is NOT for everyone, but someone. I have several IEM in my collection even this kind of shape, Its fin can cause you fatique and hurt your ear. So if any interested to get this, go to the store and ask them if they have a demo to try. Personal Comfort is First Priority, always, or you cannot use it long than your like it to. Universal shape IEM like you see in this video like Logitech, HyperX (called "bullet" shape) and Truthear Zero are the IEM basic shape of all, you may want to try that first then this "pre-customed shape" IEM
I wont say anything about sounding, because i dont own it. But to give some advice here that IEM rabbit hole is huge and you can easily waste lot of money on it, just because it may "uncomfortable" to your ears. Sounding also can let down your expectation as well.

By the way, I have the go xlr mini, the sundara are open back planar magnetic and I feel that the go xlr mini does not give me enough power, could I connect a direct amplifier to go xlr and be able to use the functions but with the boost of a better amplifier? I like the sound of the sundaras but my friends complain about the audio leak in the microphone and it still needs more volume. I don't want to spend more money but I want some headphones to listen to the game well, the steps and music. postscript I will sell the razer garbage xD I await your response thank you very much and continue with your good content 💪🏼🔥

US$129.99 for this ? hell no , for this price range you can get a lot of IEM´s that will be 10x better , they are really comfortable but thats about it ,
remember whenever you buy razer product specially audio products its always gonna be overpriced and bad ,
    Moondrop aria $80 , KZ-zs10 pro 65$ , TinHifi C2 $30 , they are all way better

I'd like to get something lighter like the IEMs. would setting them up through Synapse make the IEM sound better or would they still be highends. I mostly play 7 days or Ark with some FPS thrown in.

Nice review as always. Very nice to see Razer diving into IEMs. A very nice year for IEMs indeed.
But for those who are new to IEM you can also wait for the reviews of IEM focused channel to give you a more in-depth comparison of the Razer Moray in the IEM market especially this year (2023) which is the craziest year for IEMs since it's been flooded with products that are beast for their price to performance ratio.

Anyone saying $130 is too much for iems… is poor and has zero.. and I mean zero idea about how sound, detail, clarity etc can scale with price.. but $130/expensive? Na fam. That’s not even mid range in price or sound. For $20 less, kiwi ears quartet absolutely hits above its weight.. more expensive iems like sennheiser ie600, moondrop blessing 2 dusk, blessing 3, variations, kiwi ears orchestra lite(just to name a few) all blow these $130 budget tier, first try at an Iem out of the water.. either starting for less or ending up around 5x the cost but that’s the audio world in a nutshell

Everything else is unnecessary and a waste of money and value. Especially if they're only using them for gaming. Absolutely no need for top tier audio with gaming. Just a clean sound signature without any wonk. That's it.

I like IEMs becaude they are afordable in first place. If I wanted to pay 150$ and more, I wound choose openback overear headphones from sennheiser or another audio-focused brand. Right now I'm using kz audio IEM for 30$ and sometimes wonder if buyings something more expensive could make me better player. I don't think so, so upgrading doesn't make sense for me. Nevertheless it's good to see big brands fullfiling this niche. It's fresh, it's interesting and it's better for the customers. Razer in last few months is doing great - wireless headset, IEMs, free update for analog keyboards, mouses which took the markter over. If I wanted to be a fanboy of one company, it would be Razer for now.

I am an audio engineer and a music producer, wanted to make a quick correction here. IEM's are not popular because of their sound. They do not sound better than headphones. The reason they are popular is because compared to headphones they eliminate weight & fatigue on your head, they keep your hair looking fresh (and prevent that "gamer dent" on your head), and they also prevent heat/sweat buildup. Yes, they also have no bleed, but that is just an added bonus - closed back headphones provide a similar benefit but they still have all the drawbacks I mentioned.

    • @Bumzen
      @Bumzen Год назад +2

I disagree. IEMs provide a different sound than headphones. Whether it is better ks subjective, but having tried (and own) very expensive and very expensive headphones, the IEMs CAN sound better. Especially in the same price category.

Yeah these iems are not worth the money. Funny enough the $50 dollar iems he compares them to are better sounding for music and gaming than the razer moray. For razer to call these a "gaming" iem and not include a boom mic is crazy. I will give the moray credit they are comfortable, but other iems use the same shell design so. So razer does not get a pass for this overpriced garbage.
